Decently good! This restaurant is owned by the same group as Columbia Restaurant that is right next door. They are very different though. The menu here is more coastal/floribbean. My group got the chicken with guava/banana/mango, burger, coconut shrimp, and conch fritters. I thought the chicken was very very good. I really liked the flavors and the chicken was very juicy. The burger was good as well. The coconut shrimp was very coconut heavy, less so shrimp. They were good, though. The conch fritters were also pretty good, but nothing mind blowing. For desert, we got the guava mango cheesecake and the key lime pie. Both of these were amazing! The cheesecake had a great guava flavor and the key lime pie tasted so good and not artificial at all (which some restaurants definitely do.. yuck!) Overall, decently good meal! The server was very attentive and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the inside had lots of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I made the reservation for here and it didn't seem to get too packed throughout the time we were there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside and outside are connected and open so it was nice for people watching.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was the first restaurant we ate at as we arrived for the week. We liked it so good we decided to come back. There are huge fans placed outside if it gets too hot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved place was colorful and pet friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had out small dog and the waiter brought her a dish of water. People were friendly. I'd go back.

Stopped by for lunch on our girls trip in Sarasota! This place is everything you would expect and more!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as we got there, we felt transported to the Caribbean. From the live music playing outside (which was perfect because it wasn't too loud), to the decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. This was one of the only meals where we didn't use to-go boxes. The food was all so good, we devoured it all! My kids loved the hamburger, chicken "thumbs" and the fries. I went with the cap't shannen special, and it was so good! Imagine a hollowed-out pineapple half full of shrimp, chicken, pineapple, onions and peppers. It was a flavor overload! If I had to change one thing, I would like the rice and beans separated on my plate, but I loved this dish! O, and the house margaritas were VERY good!! Just an overall very enjoyable restaurant!

Culinary equivalent of a rom com you didn't expect to enjoy: chaotic, messy, but surprisingly satisfying in the end. The food exceeded expectations, but let's talk about the ambiance reflected in rating: the bathroom looked like it survived spring break '09, and our server was in a constant game of tag with coworkers for help. Refills? Bussing? Emotional support? Thankfully, the kitchen carried the whole operation on its back like an overworked lifeguard. Verdict: Come for the food, stay for the fries, and hold your breath if nature calls.

It was cooked to perfection, as were the fries on the side. The sauce, however, lacked flavor as did the fries. Calypso sauce is just mild buffalo sauce apparently--not a very good one at that. Very oily. I wish they'd said that and I might have tried the bbq jerk sauce instead. My mom got the nachos, but as a vegetarian she got them without the black bean chili (contains beef). This dish was a good size, but also lacked flavor. The saving grace was our waitress. She was fantastic! Very friendly, but wish she was a bit more honest when asked about the flavors.

St. Armand's was crowded due to the fine art show, and we wanted to eat at Columbia, but it was packed, so we settled for here. Atmosphere is cute, with a Caribbean type theme. We took a seat and they promptly brought our menus. I ordered the chicken and cheese BLT with fries. The food for the 4 of us came out quickly and was hot. My plate was presented nicely, and even had a little scoop of bean salad. First, the bun was stale and too big for the size of the chicken. The lettuce was that shredded bag lettuce....ugh. There was 1 strip of bacon on the sandwich and no cheese that I could taste. The fries were good and hot. Overall, totally disappointed with my choice and for the price, so. It worth it. My friends are Yelp writers too, so I won't comment on their choices. Too many good choices in the area to ever come back here. Sorry!! read more

We came for lunch on a Wednesday, we were able to sit right away. Servers are so attentive we had our drinks and apps super fast. We ordered coconut shrimp, shrimp tacos, grouper tacos, and a shrimp tostada. The chips and salsa with guacamole was good. Our servers name is Kelley and she is just awesome. There service is great. The Bahamian Conch fritters were very good. Crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle with a sweet tangy sauce. Definitely good. Oh my goodness the grouper tostadas are fire!! I was in town for work and my colleague and I were looking for an affordable, tropical, fun seafood place in the night life district, and we ended up here! The very attractive, bright colors, fun themes and decor, and live guitarist drew us in. There was not a large crowd here for dinner and we thought that would help us get food more quickly. We sat outside in the sidewalk Beer Garden and it was very pleasant. Wait staff was fairly quickly attentive, polite, and very friendly. Tables around us were clean. Unfortunately, there was a table of 4 people next to us and one woman with the absolutely worst cackle of a laugh and loud voice and we couldn't bear it after 10 minutes so we moved inside. Sitting inside was pleasant and fun and felt very Caribbean. The guitarist was entertaining, our server followed us in and the bartender even greeted us. Our beer showed up quickly, as did the conch fritters. They were yummy -- piping-hot, crunchy on the outside and plenty of spicy conch meat blend on the inside. I noticed also that our server gave us plenty of time to enjoy these before bringing out our dinners. I had a fish sandwich that was delicious and filling, albeit not big. Presentation was pretty but it could have been a little more carefully plated. My coleslaw was fairly average, tasty but not special, so no complaint on that. What I really thought was unique, tasty and memorable was the scoop of bean salad on a decorative purple lettuce leaf. I'm a key lime pie freak, so when I see it I order it. And being a northerner, when I'm down in Florida I'm Key Lime Pie crazy. That being said, this was not great key lime pie. It satisfied my sweet tooth for the night, but it was not tart, nor fluffy enough, almost too dense. The Graham crust was okay but could have been a little thicker. We enjoyed our evening here kind of prices were reasonable and we would come back even though it wasn't outstanding. read more

Stopped here for dinner while staying in the area. This was in the summer time so we were able to get in with no wait. The place was clean Staff friendly and polite Everything on the menu looked great Prices were reasonable We ordered the- Fish Tacos and Jerk Chicken Tacos The food here was amazing. This was by far a classy place but a great place to grab a drink get some good food and have a good time with friends. This place is family friendly also. We waited an hour for our food. The drinks arrived at the table beside us and were handled before the waitress realized another waitress sat them there. Didn't offer to make new ones but we were so tired of waiting we just accepted them any way. The food was good but nothing you can't find anywhere else. The waitress was nice but must have been so swamped that she hardly came around. We waited a very long time to get our check and I even had to go ask for it because our waitress must have quit or got fired. (Seriously no one knew where she went) I felt kind of bad asking the other staff but it was 20 minutes after we were done eating. They even brought food back to our table because we think they lost our ticket and made a new one then found the old one. Those waitresses were so lost. I felt bad for them they were so confused. read more

We had lunch here on a recent trip to FL. I'll give 2 stars for excellent location. Sitting outside on a beautiful day was perfect. The food I thought was average at best. Our server was terrible. I had a really good time at this spot. You can buy cute, hand crafted coconuts to drink out of!!! Also their tacos were SO good. I got the shrimp tacos and it was served with large amounts of rice and beans and the taco was filled and it was Amazing. I went to a taco place on Monday and cha cha coconuts had better tacos. The service was fast and friendly. I didn't know that I was supposed to keep my cup in the coconut (instead I just poured it in the coconut) and the waiter offered to get me a new one so I could take a dry one home. Seriously so nice. This place fills up very fast. We went around 5pm and it was perfect but by the time I left it was so packed!! Popular place. read more

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Saint Armand Circle. The outdoor seating is great and even the indoor seating has an outdoor vibe. My boy was dancing to the music All night long. We got an order of ribs to go. They were very good. A full rack comes with two sides. We choose the sweet potato fries and Cole slaw. Unfortunately the fries were only warm, not hot, when we got back to the apartment, and the dipping sauce was not honey as it usually is here at home. It was more like apple butter. Okay , not great. The Cole slaw was a very small serving. I wonder if it is larger when one eats at the restaurant. It certainly was a filling meal, even shared, and reasonably priced. read more

Where do I begin! It was a phenomenal experience! The whole place was a vibe sit wherever you like,service right away. Everyone was moving quickly with the rhythm,busy happenin spot,but everyone kept pace with smiling faces. Our server Joe was very attentive&helpful with the menu as it was our 1st time! We had the coconut shrimp with this amazing coconut mustard to dip in! My husband had the mahi sandwich&he is STILL full even the pickiest of our kids ate his whole cowaburger dude! I also really loved seeing the manager Emily so hands on with her restaurant! We stopped here for a quick lunch during the week. We sat outside. I had the nachos. They were okay. Full of beans. Which I'm not a fan. But the nacho cheese and jalapeños made up for it. I had a strawberry smoothie that was delish. My daughters shared an order of fries and fruit. The fries were amazing. My husband had the wings. We came to Cha Cha Coconuts on Christmas evening after a walk around St. Armand's. As a native Floridian, I'd bet that's how 95% of Cha Cha gets its customers... likely not a place you'd seek out on purpose, but if you happen to be around it's worth the pit stop. My sister ordered a burger medium and it came out nearly raw so make sure you're specific on your preferred cook. Based on other reviews that seems to be a common occurrence. I actually really enjoyed my Mahi sandwich and Bahama Mamma drink (warning: stir it before sipping or else you'll be left with rum on ice half way through). read more

First time trying this and we were impressed. Received our food super fast after ordering. One member of our party forgot to mention their gluten sensitivity and the lady graciously changed it out. Food was delicious. Nice mahi mahi dinner, very tasty. Grouper tacos were reportedly delicious from our party. The Honey mustard sauce with the coconut shrimp is the best honey mustard I've ever had. I would gladly buy a bottle of it if they had. Nice to sit outside and outdoor atmosphere Would definitely eat here again. 5/5 read more

This place is nothing special - the service was subpar, the food was bland and overpriced, our waiter forgot to put in our apps and was living in his in own world. However, I did get the strawberry lemonade and that was really good! If you have another place to go, go there. But if every other place has a wait, it would be an alright choice. read more

Fun touristy vibes for sure, tasty food, very lack luster service but to be expected when they're like one of two places only that are open on the circle they're busy for sure. We had the black bean quesadilla and peach smoothie and the hot ham & cheese Cuban with fries & a pina colada. Drinks are fab and highly recommend the food is generous portions and came out fairly quick. The appetizer was just chips and salsa and they're not fooling anyone it's just pace picante with corn and black beans added, good but not homemade. Went in for some apps and a drink while on Lido for the day. They definitely looked short staffed, and we're still quite busy on a Wednesday afternoon. My waitress was still very attentive and took great care of me though. I'm in town from Texas and I really came just for the conch fritters. They're beyond delicious . I got so sick after eating lunch there yesterday. The first bite I took of the mango avacado salsa on my fish I told my friend that it didn't taste right and I thought it should have been cold and not room temperature. It also could have been a couple days old because the avocado was completely dissolved. No chunks. I wish I had sent it back although the meal was good other than that. we walked around the circle for a few minutes we had to leave. I was sick all afternoon and all night. read more

This was a fun stop for appetizers. LIVE MUSIC, on the circle with seating in & outside all open. Our waiter was excellent and made sure we got the best of all food by giving us one coconut shrimp entree with mango sauce or spiced mustard in lieu of two separate coconut shrimp appetizers..for same price. I really appreciated his help, since we had no idea what the difference was.. the entree included delicious fries & sweet creamy slaw! The coconut characters are for both alcohol and non-alcohol drinks, which is great! The only drawback is NOT the restaurant, but the charge for parking! Tropical dishes, tasty cocktails, and friendly servers yes please! Fairly inexpensive for St. Armand's Circle. Everything in walking distance is way fancier and overpriced but this was more of a casual place. Stopped in here after walking around for a bit because there was no wait compared to restaurants nearby and it seemed pretty lively with their decorations and a band playing up front. They serve their cocktails in decorated coconuts that can be bought & used as piggy banks afterwards which is pretty neat. The menu is full of very interesting tropical dishes that we all enjoyed. I had a Brazilian citrus chicken that was served in a pineapple and it tasted delicious. Not a seafood fan, but I heard great things from the rest of my party especially about the shrimp and grouper tacos! I loved all of the food I tried here and I would totally come back if it weren't for a few minor things. Cons: Extremely slow service. We spent almost over 2 hours here just because it took so long to get our food and for someone to serve us. There were lots of empty tables, almost half the restaurant, so it wasn't a super busy night. Live Music. Now I am a huge fan of live music and karaoke. I love hearing local musicians but these guys were just so obnoxious. They were talented but wouldn't just perform. Instead of singing full songs that they were great at doing btw, they would stop and want other people to join in which is fine but like just make it open mic karaoke then. They constantly called out to tables and harassed people into talking about where they are from, and getting up there and singing with them. Cute at first but it got annoying to hear for our entire meal. The band started to make me feel uncomfortable to be there and I just wanted to leave. This is sad because they have AMAZING food for low prices and it could be so great here. This place is truly magical. From the moment we walk in, we are always greeted with such warmth and…read morehospitality. My children absolutely love coming here--and honestly, my husband and I feel the same way. It somehow feels like stepping into a little sushi wonderland every time. The sushi is incredible, the presentation is beautiful, and you can tell how much thought goes into the entire experience. I especially love all the different spaces--the cozy lounge, the bar, and the restaurant itself. Each area has its own feel while still being intimate, inviting, and special. It has quickly become one of those places our whole family genuinely looks forward to visiting. Amazing food, wonderful people, and such a unique atmosphere. We'll absolutely be back again and again.

The ambiance perfectly encapsulated the essence of a tropical bar and grill. Our server, though young, exhibited remarkable efficiency, managing to cater to a significant portion of the dining area with ease. The atmosphere is breezy and fun. The food was great. . The black beans and rice were really delicious. And our sandwich were great. The service was decent but not great. We did not get refills. We saw our server when we ordered. When our food was delivered, and when the check came. I did get a tshirt($20) and with that our lunch was $81. We did not get a drink in the souvenir drinking coconuts, and still that was a bit pricey for two for lunch. read more

The owner is a drunk asshole who will come up to your table and accuse you of not washing your hands after the bathroom. He has no idea what he is talking about. Treats women like shit and is there only for a popularity contest. I was on vacation with my girlfriends family and didn't want to make a scene but he made that impossible. Why he cares how people use the bathroom is beyond me. He wasn't eating at our table read more
