This place was incredible!! We walked in last minute with a party of 27 and they not only accommodated us but provided excellent service to a large party. Our server Peyton was so nice and not phased at all by our numbers and was very attentive to everyone - constantly checking in! We had two birthdays and the manager Thomas helped us get their musician to play along and had such a good spirit about the whole thing! Cha Chas is a fun spot to have a casual meal and drink on the circle. The food isn't spectacular but it's fine for a quick bite after enjoying the beach, bike ride or some shopping. I've had the grouper tacos, which I felt had too much filling in them. They were very sloppy and took away from being able to taste the grouper. I liked the beans and rice and plantains that came on the side. My husband enjoyed his coconut shrimp. My margarita was pretty good and they had the grapefruit IPA from Motorworks that I love on draft. Service was pretty good and quick. A solid 4 star place. read more

I'd like to give this place 3.5 stars. We weren't intending to dine here but when my 9 year old saw the fun coconut head souvenir we were locked in. The have outdoor side walk seating which is fun. It was a busy time of day so there were a lot of people walking by which had its pros and cons . I ordered the shrimp po boy sandwich . It was ok but nothing special . I wouldn't order again. I will give this place a five star even though you have to realize what you are getting. This place is not fancy even though it is surrounded by high end dining. It is a fun place with the same servers for years. They have a nice happy hour from 4-6. They serve a lot of Caribbean dishes that are really good and very moderately priced. The coconut shrimp was fried just right. Good amount of butterflied shrimp in a sweet coconut batter. Grouper bites had a nice quantity of delicious fried grouper pieces. The gumbo was good but not the best I have had. Roux could have been a little thicker. We also had a shrimp poor boy. This is always the best way to get fried shrimp. It's cheaper than the dinner and you get more shrimp. The after happy hour rum runners will set you back good. Wow! Don't have too many and drive. read more

The pick two Cuban sandwich and the Greek salad was amazing! I don't remember the salad name exactly but it had olives and Gorgonzola and was very good. We all shared the white sangria (between 3 girls) because a glass was $10 and the pitcher was $26....no brainer there! Oh my goodness, everything at the table was YUM. The beans and rice could be a meal in itself---so flavorful. The citrus chicken was just my perfect meal, although the chicken could have been cooked slightly less. The burger my husband had was so flavorful and on the best bread. Okay, I've been blessed with the luxury of dining at St. Armands Circle in Lido Beach Florida over 2 weekends in my life. I've tried several eateries, mostly in the $$$$ category. I don't give advice, I have opinions. And in my opinion, Cha Cha Coconuts is without a doubt the place to eat. If it was in my home town it would be the place I told ALL "out-of-towners" to go. In the words of the greatest food critic of all time - Anton Ego - "simply amazing". I've had no better meal in the circle than right here. This place is super busy. We opted to seat outside (beautiful day); a guy came by and took our drink order and left; a second guy showed up to take our drink order and finally a gal showed up to take our drink order. The server rushed to my friend's side when the wind picked up and the table umbrella lifted up, hit my friend's head and she fell into the next seat and landed on the ground. The outside looks a bit "kitschy" but the food was surprisingly good! Hubby had the mahi sandwich and a tasty grapefruit IPA, but my meal was the winner--grouper tacos.
