Service was good they were nice they had a smile which is always good to see especially in this day and age. We did enjoy ourselves and we will go back definitely. This was a fantastic experience from start to finish! We had appetizers of crispy pork belly and samosas. The pork belly was absolutely amazing! Crispy on the outside and then melt in your mouth in the middle. The samosas were amazing! They give you 2, but they are quite big and easy to share. These have a bit of a spice kick, but unlike other spicy foods, it hits and goes away quickly. My mouth was not ever left hot feeling. I had the spicy red snapper, not at all spicy, but completely delicious. We also have 2 dairy allergies in our family. This place has lots of options for that. I would absolutely recommend and we plan to return another time while visiting!

From start to finish FLAMBO exceeded expectations. Amazing customer service and fabulous food. So good

I only write reviews when an experience absolutely compels me to, and my dinner at Flambo did just that. Flambo is remarkable, and not just St. Armand's remarkable, but remarkable compared to all the food I've eaten across the world. I've never tasted anything like the Curry Mussels before and I will be dreaming about them for a long time. I wish I lived here so I could come back once a week, but I'll be dreaming about the next time I'm back and am already planning my order. If you're so lucky to have the north Indian guy as your waiter (I'm so sorry that I didn't catch his name), listen to every single thing he tells you about the food and what he recommends, because he will guide you to an extraordinary meal. And, not only is the food above and beyond, but so is the service and the atmosphere. The staff is attentive and lovely. The owner comes out and chats with you, and is a passionate and genuine guy. Truly an extraordinary experience. (And please let me know when you're ready to ship the curry mussel sauce across the country so I can bathe in it. Or okay, just a cookbook would be great!)

The chicken and rice - absolutely delicious

This is truly a gem of St. Armands/sarasota! The food, location and decor are clearly a work of art, and it is clear the owner has poured his heart and soul into all three. The drinks are some of the best we have ever had! Tensen was our server - he catered to not only us but our little chihuahua came first! Extremely pet friendly as the owner served her her grilled chicken and welcomed her w open arms. Food so fresh, Cleanest environment and the pork was the best weve ever had! The vibes and love poured into the place truly shined on us!!!

I was told that the duck curry was hot, which translates to spicy. The duck curry is so spicy it's inedible, it would have sent me to the hospital. I love spice and grow my own scorpion & habanero peppers, the food they prepared and served was a lawsuit waiting to happen. I asked why they made it so spicy and they said that customers would use up the pepper sauce they had on the tables to add to their food so they decided to just make it spicy. I decided to eat a doubles instead, it was absolutely disgusting, it tasted as if they used chick pea flour to make a curry slurry and it was under cooked. I was pissed that I spent $70 dollars on food that was poorly made and with zero customer service. The bathroom is also a whole other issue. not sure how they are in business. I never leave a negative review but Tara Roti shop should be avoided at all costs.

I hate I don't have better things to say about this spot that we were really excited to try. I will…read moresay that upon arrival, everything seemed to be going fine. The owner greeted us at the door, it was fairly empty so there was no wait and we were seated right away. The ambiance is nice. It does look like you've stepped into the VIP area of a restaurant, so it was cute -- not fancy, but cute. The owner then told us about the restaurant being inspired by his mother, they've been around for 10 years, explained the menu etc., it was nice. He also told us that he hadn't been to Jamaica since a kid and that raised an eyebrow -- but we let it go because he wasn't the cook. MIND YOU, I brought my cousin here (who is Jamaican) after seeing decent reviews about it. He brought over our first round of drinks and they were really good. We really enjoyed them. They weren't strong at all, tasted like juice. So I would recommend just getting juice instead of the +$5 to add rum. As we began to order and look at the menu, the prices were really HIGH, but I guess he was going for upscale cuisine -- so we said OK, let's see what this entails. We all ordered the Taste of the Island plater that gave an oxtail, curry goat and jerk chicken, rice and peas, plaintains and a tiny side salad. I wasn't mad at the portions given, but the flavor didn't hit the mark at all. NOW LETS GET INTO THE FOOD The Jerk Chicken was OVERLY spicy; we couldn't even enjoy the flavor. The oxtails were fatty, sweet and BLACK. Not enjoyable at all. The goat was OK, but not very flavorful in my opinion. The beef patties were good, but probably out of a box. The Roti was good and the oxtail dipping sauce was good. The Honey BBQ Wings were pretty good and cooked well. The Mac'n'Cheese -- DO NOT GET THIS. It literally has NO taste and reminded me of the cup mac'n'cheese that you put the powder cheese in. It took so long to bring it out, I guess he kept forgetting about it (they said everything is made to order) -- which, IDK how you make mac'n'cheese to order. Real cooks know, Mac n cheese is NOT a 5-minute made to order meal. He also didn't ask how we enjoyed the meal -- which I felt like he knew what we knew when he saw that not only did the other table leave a plate full of food (the meats) but our plates resembled the same -- he still collected his coin. There is a 20% gratuity that is added on at the end that is ridiculous considering the prices are already so expensive -- MIND YOU, it is not "Elevate Cuisine", its basic Jamaican dishes on Ikea plates. No special plating, no unique sauces or display, no chef's plating or anything. Just a plate of food. Everyone's bill came in over $100. The table nearby us order the same thing and inquired whether or not we liked our food, but we'd just gotten our food and hadn't tried it yet -- we did warn them about the chicken being spicy, but not everything else. They came after us and left before us and left everything on the plate except the rice and peas. I love black owned businesses and I wish this much more success, but I would NOT recommend it to anyone that is looking for authentic Jamaican food.

I tried the yuca logs, the island wrap, and the shrimp wontons and every single item was a win. The flavors were rich, vibrant, and packed with that signature Trinidadian intensity that makes every bite feel intentional (not just "seasoned," but seasoned with purpose). What really stood out to me is that nothing felt like a filler item. Each dish had its own personality, and I'd gladly order all three again without hesitation. Beyond the food, the experience itself was just as solid. The service was quick, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. The owners are incredibly kind and easy to talk to, which made the wait feel more like a conversation than a transaction. They also offer catering, which I'm already mentally bookmarking. I didn't get a chance to try their traditional curry dishes this time, but based on what I did have, I already know that's my next move. Bottom line: great food, great people, and a food truck that clearly knows what it's doing. This is the kind of spot you come back to and bring friends with you next time!

Located in the Seville plaza, The Jamaican Dumpling Restaurant not only serves Jamaican cuisine but also Trinidadian roti. After my order was ready in about 15 minutes, I sat at an available table to enjoy my meal. The steamed cabbage was tasty with a crunchy texture. The rice and peas was cooked to a soft consistency. The plantain were fried nicely. The star of the show was the chicken--tender pieces of meat covered in a sweet flavored sauce that had me sucking my fingers.
