Amazing late afternoon service! We had cocktails and snacks, which were all delicious! Definitely returning!

Stopped in during art fair on May 23. It was hot. We had a taste for butter Chicken. This restaurant did not disappoint! (Chat gpt did not know to recommend it for butter chicken in Sarasota, btw.) It is off on the end of one of the side spurs off the circle. I ordered mango salad and husband ordered butter chicken. We shared. Salad was very fresh, cucumbers and tomatoes were carefully seeded, lettuce cut in bite sized pieces and tamarind dressing was light and delicious. The butter chicken was sweet and unctuous, served as large chunks of mostly dark meat chicken that you cut up. It was fan-freaking-tastic. Waiter was so very friendly. He and his dad opened in November. Tan tan martini (vodka and guava) was made spirit forward per request and balanced out the mildly spiced, rich butter chicken. Dad is the chef. Dining room has big windows that look out on the street. White tablecloths are so welcome. It's cool and soothing inside. Much better than the loud places on the circle. Highly recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner! read more

Came here for a work dinner, and I am so glad the company was paying because I wanted to try all their food! I started with their Lemongrass Shrimp Soup. It did not look like I expected, but it tasted really good. I didn't realize it had mushrooms in it, but they definitely added to the flavor and ended up being a happy surprise. I also got to try some of their appetizers. The Curry Mussels were TO DIE FOR. I could have eaten a whole bucket of that curry sauce. We also ordered the pita bread with avocado sauce. The pita was so soft and delicious that we had to order a second helping. Finally, for my main dish, I had the Spicy Seafood Paella. I could not make up my mind because that curry sauce was amazing, but I wanted to try something I hadn't had yet on this trip. I'm so glad I did! The paella was so well seasoned and packed with flavor. I do wish it had come with a little more shrimp, but everything was absolutely delicious. We were a large group, and the service was still 10/10. I cannot wait to go back and try more of their dishes. read more

Have eaten here several times since their soft opening Oct '25 because it is easily my favorite restaurant on St Armand. The food is outstanding, the service is superb and the drinks are excellent. The menu is different from the usual offerings at most Sarasota restaurants - one of the reasons I'm delighted they're here. I've now tried almost all the entrees, and thoroughly enjoyed every one. Our last visit was a special wine pairing meal for 9 of us, orchestrated by Kevin and Chris, and was a very special meal indeed! If you haven't been yet, go! Easily the best restaurant in St Armands Circle. Absolutely loved the corn soup, pholouri (which are little fritters), lemongrass mussels (get it with the roti), samosas, beef stew and whole snapper. Fantastic and authentic Trinidadian cuisine. Everything was top notch. We chose to eat outside because it had just rained and it cooled off early on a Friday night. It's really nice inside, too! Servers and owner were helpful at selecting our dishes and serving us fresh food. I highly recommend the curry chicken, drunken noodle, chick peas, plantains, and the wings! Quality, and authentic Caribbean food here for sure! Ask for some hot pepper sauce if you like spice. First time here with family. Will be back every time we're in the area! read more

This was our first visit to flambo restaurant. We enjoyed ourselves the staff was nice and knowledgeable of the food. The decor was great I liked it it had a nice feel to it. Service was good they were nice they had a smile which is always good to see especially in this day and age. We did enjoy ourselves and we will go back definitely. This was a fantastic experience from start to finish! We had appetizers of crispy pork belly and samosas. The pork belly was absolutely amazing! Crispy on the outside and then melt in your mouth in the middle. The samosas were amazing! They give you 2, but they are quite big and easy to share. These have a bit of a spice kick, but unlike other spicy foods, it hits and goes away quickly. My mouth was not ever left hot feeling. I had the spicy red snapper, not at all spicy, but completely delicious. We also have 2 dairy allergies in our family. This place has lots of options for that. I would absolutely recommend and we plan to return another time while visiting! read more

I don't understand these reviews?! Maybe it's me, but I love a balanced plate, not just a protein & rice for over $30. Although flavorful, the 2 dishes we ordered just didn't seem to command $75. 6 shrimp (in a flavorful green curry) with plain basmati rice and no side vegetable for over $30. A semi-plain snapper also with plain basmati, no side veg for $40. Sadly, I see this as an overpriced tourist trap. Decent flavors, friendly servers, just overpriced unbalanced dishes. I only write reviews when an experience absolutely compels me to, and my dinner at Flambo did just that. Flambo is remarkable, and not just St. Armand's remarkable, but remarkable compared to all the food I've eaten across the world. I've never tasted anything like the Curry Mussels before and I will be dreaming about them for a long time. I wish I lived here so I could come back once a week, but I'll be dreaming about the next time I'm back and am already planning my order. If you're so lucky to have the north Indian guy as your waiter (I'm so sorry that I didn't catch his name), listen to every single thing he tells you about the food and what he recommends, because he will guide you to an extraordinary meal. And, not only is the food above and beyond, but so is the service and the atmosphere. The staff is attentive and lovely. The owner comes out and chats with you, and is a passionate and genuine guy. We had a wonderful dinner at Flambo and are so happy to see this exciting new restaurant come to St. Armands Circle. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the owner, Kevin, which immediately set the tone for a great evening. We chose to sit at the bar, where Chris, the bartender, was incredibly helpful, attentive, and accommodating. While we sat at the bar, the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with elegant chandeliers throughout that create a stylish yet inviting atmosphere. We started with the lemongrass shrimp soup--so flavorful and fragrant, yet light and not at all heavy. The pork belly appetizer was absolutely delicious a must try. For dinner, we shared the drunken noodles and the curry shrimp, and both dishes were outstanding--rich, well-balanced flavors and generously portioned. Flambo is amazing! Anthony (the owner) is so welcoming. He treated our family with personal care. And, the food is soooo delightful. One of the best meals I've had in over a year. The buss up shut is to die for. Eat it with your hands with your curry - you will never forget it. For drinks we had rum punch. The pholourie with tamarind sauce is a 10/10. We also had curry chicken, curry shrimp, corn soup, and the chicken Trini Drunken Noodles. I highly recommend any of these dishes - whatever you're in the mood for. I tasted a little of everything we ordered and I was blown away. My 90 year old Trini grandmother loves the food here. We'll be back for sure. We would give Flambo more that 5 stars. Located on the south end of Boulevard Of The Presidents, it is a place not to be overlooked. A really nice addition to the typical coastal fare. We has a wonderful evening! It was Super Bowl Sunday, so not busy and we were really able to absorb everything about this wonderful restaurant. The decor is lovely and serene. I loved the fish video playing in the TV screen in the bar. With the instrumental music and a cocktail, it was mesmerizing. The service was very attentive and our server, Tansen, was delightful. He answered questions and explained the nuance of the various dishes and flavors as well as the culture, which I particularly loved. For those timid of spice, they have toned down the spiciness of dishes, so no need to be afraid of the heat. I like spice, so he provided extra habanero for me to add. Perfect! We started with their complimentary Pholouri,which are fritters served with their house made tamarind sauce. Nice touch. We followed with the coconut shrimp which was mildly sweet, perfectly cooked shrimp. (I am not a coconut shrimp lover, but these changed my mind!). My husband had the paella, which was loaded with seafood and spiced with traditional and Caribbean flavor. A very nice twist. I had the curry shrimp and it was fantastic! Perfectly cooked big shrimp in a light, but rich Trinidadian curry with basmati rice. I could get that again and again, and probably will! We added an order of Roti--traditional Trinidadian bread. Unique and very good. Perfect accompaniment to the lovely sauces of our dishes. We finished with a dessert of Mango mouse and gulag jamune. Lovely finish. Oh! I forgot to mention the cocktails. The Winter Old Fashioneds were very good. They also have a nice wine selection, as well as other, specialty cocktails. At the end of our meal, the owner and chef came out to meet us. His love and passion for his food, his craft and his restaurant is what makes Flambo something special. We will definitely be back.....maybe even this week! read more

I chose this restaurant over other more popular places at St. Armands circle and I'm glad I did. Food was delicious, service was friendly, and decor serene and beautiful. The chef also came out and chatted with us at the end, even shared some advice with my teen daughter. I only have a few suggestions for improvement - maybe reduce the salt a bit on the wonton soup and the curry chicken, and let the mango mousse thaw in the fridge as it was frozen. This is a brand new restaurant on St. Armands Circle. It's great to have a new restaurant that has some different offerings. The food is an eclectic mix of Indian, Caribbean, European. The restaurant is really beautiful, we met with the owner who is chef and his son who was the maître D. The atmosphere and ambience was really terrific. We had a couple of excellent cocktails while sitting at the bar and a coconut shrimp appetizer, which was top notch. We split a shrimp dish, which was also delicious. Flambo is a welcome addition to the Circle. The decor is distinctive and sophisticated, the bar beautifully lit. The food is excellent, the menu great. I am determined to try everything. The biriyani was delicious as was the curried shrimp. This is one of the few places where the shrimp is perfectly cooked, not having been immersed in sauce for an hour!
