I called ahead to place an order, it was a quick easy pickup. My husband LOVES the fried shrimp from here! We all do, He usually doesn't have much of a taste for Asian flavors, but he really enjoys their shrimp because it's crispy, flavorful, and doesn't taste fishy at all. Even one of my bigger kids loves it too, so the fried shrimp has definitely become our go-to! This time I also tried the fried egg rolls, and they were actually really good as well. We've enjoyed everything we've tried so far and will definitely be coming back.

I found out about this place after my friend brought egg rolls to an event. Ever since, this is my go to place for egg rolls. The price, size, filling, & crunch - good all around! I always call at least a day before an event to place an order. My orders have always been ready when I get there. It comes with an orange sauce, more on the sweet side. Great party item! Good sized store, well lit, organized. They sell other prepared foods & snacks/packaged stuff. I always think to try some of the prepared food so maybe next time. Parking lot is on the smaller side but I've never had a problem finding a spot. Workers are friendly. Bring cash!

Situated in a small plaza on a busy main road, this is my go-to place for Vietnamese party trays...banh bot loc, egg rolls, banh cuon, lotus salad. I never have problems with ordering everything over the phone and they are friendly during pick up. Just remember that this place is cash only. Their egg rolls are some of the best in the Bay, definitely my fave in San Jose.

Cha Ca Long Phung is the only place I go to for egg rolls. The skin is always crispy and the filling is packed with meat. They are fresh, flavorful (no sauce needed) and not too oily. The restaurant is incredibly consistent, which is why this is my go-to for party trays, family gatherings, and celebrations. For the quality and portion size, it's cheaper than a lot of other places that don't even come close in taste.

This place deserves 5 stars just because of one thing: egg rolls. This is probably my favorite (Vietnamese) egg roll place in the whole Bay Area. They look super simple and just like any other egg roll but once you eat one you can't stop eating them. What makes it even more amazing is that they still taste good even after they become cold. There are so many layers of taste within each bite of the egg roll it's hard to describe the taste. Just go there and buy some egg rolls and judge yourselves. No other egg roll places even come close if we are only taking about taste. This is operated by the parents of the now closed LP egg rolls so I'm so glad they kept this store open. They also have other interesting snacks but for me egg rolls are why I drive an hour for. This is not a restaurant so you can't eat inside but order the egg rolls to go and enjoy in your car or your home. This is a very small strip mall so parking can be difficult.

I loved having that extra variety to switch up the flavors throughout the meal. Yummmm. The Bun Cha Ha Noi comes in either a small ($28) or large ($47). Our server told us the small would be enough for two people, so that's what we ordered. When it arrived, it was a huge plate filled with fresh vegetables, noodles, and meat. Bonus: it also came with rice paper!!! I immediately loved this place even more. Since my boyfriend doesn't eat much of the herbs and vegetables, we went through the noodles and meat pretty quickly while sharing. I can definitely see how the small could feed two people if you're using all of the veggies, herbs, noodles and rice paper to make wraps. For us, though, we could've easily handled the large! We ended up ordering the chicken wings with garlic fish sauce afterward, and they were over. Wasn't a big fan but we finished it. Next time, we'll definitely be ordering the large Bun Cha platter and hopefully bringing more people with us so we can try more of their extensive menu!

We've probably eaten here 50+ times with family and friends, and one thing I can say is that they are 100% consistent. We've never had a bad meal here. There's a great variety of Vietnamese dishes, so everyone can usually find something they like. The chả cá (fish) is one of their popular dishes and a favorite. They also have good chicken phở, broken rice, vermicelli noodles, spring rolls, roll-your-own options, and plenty of soups beyond phở. You can order individual dishes or share family-style, which makes it especially easy when coming with a group. It's very casual, family-friendly, quick, and straightforward--nothing fancy and probably not where I'd choose for a date night. But for a dependable meal with family or friends, it's a great spot. Kids like it, parents like it, and my mom likes it--which says a lot coming from an older Vietnamese person who knows her Vietnamese food! The staff is always efficient and nice, and after all these years, the food remains consistently good. The biggest downside is parking. The entire shopping center has become so busy with restaurants that finding a spot can be overwhelming, especially during peak hours. Also, keep in mind they do not take credit cards. Bring cash, or you can pay electronically through options such as Zelle/Venmo. Overall, this is one of those longtime neighborhood restaurants we keep coming back to because we know exactly what we're going to get: good Vietnamese food, plenty of choices, friendly service, and consistency.

The staff greeted us warmly and provided friendly service throughout our meal. I ordered the rare beef pho, which was fine but fairly average in flavor. My friend ordered the vegetarian noodles, and those were actually quite good. Overall, the food didn't really stand out to me, but nothing was bad either. I appreciated the comfortable space, cleanliness, friendly staff, and variety on the menu. I'd be open to coming back and trying something different next time.

Everything was absolutely delicious, I especially enjoyed the flour sheet when dipped in the sauce, and the yam tempura. The mung bean tempura was also really interesting, it sort of looked and tasted like a muffin. I also got a pennywort juice since my Vietnamese friend said she drank it growing up in Vietnam and had never seen it on a menu in the US before. It was very interesting, not really sweet at all, I mostly liked it but it had a slightly weird aftertaste. The service was good enough, the waiters weren't super attentive or particularly friendly but our food came out quickly and we had no issues. The interior is spacious and clean. The standout dish was the egg rolls. They arrived hot, golden brown, and perfectly crisp, with a satisfying crunch and a flavorful filling that made them the best part of the meal. The food, however, wasn't the reason for my rating. The restaurant's cleanliness left me concerned. I noticed cobwebs that appeared to have been hanging in place for a long time, along with dirt and grime collecting in corners throughout the dining room. Even the menus felt sticky, with a visible film of grease and small food particles still clinging to them. The faded print and worn condition made them look as though they hadn't been replaced in years. Those details created an impression of neglect that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. With a thorough deep cleaning and some updated menus, this restaurant could create a much more welcoming dining experience. Until then, the cleanliness issues overshadow what was otherwise an average meal.
