It was my first time visiting Eza. We had decided to pop in for a drink and we were so happy we did. The view is incredible, the service is pleasant and everything we ordered made us smile. I highly recommend the champagne service. It is a worth while place to enjoy a moment of peace during your exploration of Eza.
We stayed at Chateau Eza while we visited Eze Village. The restaurant was amazing: good food, drinks and service. The view alone is worth it. You can sit inside with a great view or sit outside if it's not too windy. Continental breakfast was included in our hotel stay which included the best orange juice, fruit salad that was soaked in mint which was surprisingly and flavorful. For dinner, the Caesar salad had anchovies which is rare to see these days in Caesar salad. Great cocktails: highly recommend gin and roses.
You have to come and have anything to drink or eat to enjoy the view ; It is one of the most stunning on the Cotes d'Azur. It was super hot and we just stopped to have drinks and just soak the views and the fresh air on the terrace. The service was impeccable as it should be from a luxury hotel and the price was accordingly high but worth every penny: Don't miss this place !
Chef Justin Schmitt is a genius, plain and simple. There is a reason this is rated one of the world's best restaurants! This Michelin-starred establishment is a must, especially if you're staying at the hotel! But make reservations well in advance! This is certainly the best culinary experience of my life, with a meal offering a stunning array of complex flavors in every course! The seafood melded with local ingredients and sophisticated concoctions is as spectacular as the Mediterranean Sea and coastline of Southern France down below you!
We emailed the restaurant in the Chateau Eza in France, well in advance, to get a reservation for lunch, for the date that our cruise ship would arrive in the Monte Carlo port. We got a taxi from the ship port in Monte Carlo to the little village of Eze. We walked up the cobblestone path past many little quaint shops, from street level to the charming village. Our reservation got us an excellent table with a spectacular view of the water and yachts below. We were already in awe because of the view, but the food in the restaurant was amazing, and the service was impeccable. We started our meal with a beautiful amuse-bouche; the detail of the parts was so special, that I was slow to eat it. Our first course was a Beef Tomato from Nice with condiments covered with two colors of creamy stripes, decorated with delicate pieces of the lovage plant. It was excellent. It was accompanied with a tiny mousse tasting like and shaped like a tiny pumpkin. Our main course was a Confit Codfish. It was accompanied by a few cauliflower pieces with kumquat and pistachio. It was lightly covered by butter with clementine and Chartreause liquor. To finish, we had four small Manjari chocolate tarts, two with chocolate cream filling and two with coconut, tapioca. They were arranged in an artistic design on the plate and connected by thin chocolate crispy strips. The final course was arranged on a lovely curved blue ceramic piece. It held six different tiny sweet treats. Every course was beyond our expectations in taste and in presentation. We thoroughly enjoyed and loved our time at the Chateau Eza. It was indeed a very memorable and very special lunch!
Experience-wise, this place is off the charts, but the food wasn't up to snuff (not in terms of the star, the price point, nor the region (nor country, for that matter)). Loved the concept of the first dish having all sorts of tastes of the sea, but thought it was a bit too saline for me and I've lived in New England my whole life. Conceptually this was a strong start, but nothing else seemed to match that, and was rather a bit soulless. Ironically my rabbit special was very under seasoned, so there was simply some inconsistencies throughout the night. The cheese course was incredible, but I could've simply popped into a store for that. The views are undeniable. Literally stuff of fairy tales.

It feels cruel to give it anything but 5 stars because of the breathtaking views and the storybook location buuuuuuuut maybe they rely on that? Because let's face it, it's expensive as heck, and a pain in the tush to get to so I kinda would expect the best of the best service and that was not the case. The meal was delicious and the amuse-bouche, a matcha-dressed escargot, was one of my favorite bites from 2 weeks of French meals. The service was the letdown of the night. With 3 servers they forgot my wine, failed to offer a second glass after we had finished the first, took an hour to bring us our check, I pinky promise I am not making this up, and got frustrated when we finally asked someone (not our server) for the check. These cracks really brought down the whole illusion and sense of magic. If you have all the money and the time I would recommend this in a heartbeat. If you're looking at this to be your one special night, there might be better options.

I had the 4-course one and was never happier with a meal in my life. Delicious, beautifully presented, perfectly seasoned. No matter what option you choose. EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE Service fitting of any top restaurant in the world. Waiters are friendly and attentive, and absolutely professional. I was amused by how several servers always come out at once to set your food on your table, so that they can all look at each other and time the reveal (taking off the metal cover) all at the same time. Sort of like a: "BAM, look at this masterpiece -- with an edible flower on top." This place is pretty much heavenly.
Impeccable service and hands down one of the best views in Eze. Stopped at this beautiful 5-star chateau just to enjoy the view and the champagne. The staff was fantastically attentive, friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our request for shade. The sun on the hilltop was quite hot and a breeze prevented the staff from opening the umbrellas, they apologized but the moment the winds died, they jumped on setting up the umbrellas. Crisp, cold champagne flowed as did the beautiful light appetizers. We had just had brunch so we weren't starving so the chef served us the prettiest feta herb and Parmesan lollipops. Local ham, salmon with Apple on petite toasts. Simply superb and perfect for sipping champagne and enjoying the view. This view area of the hotel is usually reserved for guests only, but one of my cruise-mates asked politely to enjoy champagne on their private balcony and they agreed. Lucky for us, it was truly a spectacular view on an equally wonderful day. Love the cobblestone streets in Eze...a jaunt back in time for sure.
We had been to eza on a cruise and I promised that if we ever came to southern France we would have dinner in this quaint agent village. I chose Chateau Eza due to its ideal location and amazing view. Although it did not disappoint, I would rate this a 3.5 if I could. It's definitely not a 4.5 as it's rating would indicate. So let's break it down: Atmosphere 5 stars - no doubt about it. If you go, you must get an outside table overlooking the cap-Ferrat. It was alittle hot so make sure you go after 8pm in the summer. Service 3 stars - it's not that they were not good, they were just very stiff and not personable. They were attentive but I like more personality from my wait staff. They almost seemed fake. Food 3.5 stars - food was probably solid at its high level but frankly the serving sizes were really small even by french standards. In fact, the table behind me was a couple that order a second main course! It was one of the most expensive restaurants we went to and we went to some exceptional places. I had the sole which was very small and boiled not oven basted and my wife had the chicken which was about 1/3 if a breast. Deserts did score high, 4 stars but this is France after all. You are definitely paying for the view however if you want a fantastic view, great food, and exceptional service I would strongly recommend chateau Saint Martin in Vence. Read my review on that one. Wow! Price 3 stars - for the money you will leave hungry and since I have 12 days of french dinners to compare it to in Paris, Provence and the Riviera, that should not be be the case. The chef needs to reassess. Overall this is a 3.5. If it did not have the location, it would not be worth the drive from Nice. Sorry guys.

Michelin star restaurant in Eze Village with an unbeatable view. We made a lunch reservation although it wasn't needed since the restaurant wasn't super busy (in early February). Service was excellent and everyone was extremely polite. They started us off with an amuse bouche which was a delicious spoonful of a very light and airy cream with a jelly on top and lightly cooked celery to add some crunch. An amazing bite! I had the codfish which was overall pretty good. Many different sauces and complex flavors to go together (maybe too many??) The persimmon dessert was also quite good. Some ice cream that was extremely light and not too sweet and a creamy cake to go with it. All in all, an enjoyable lunch with a great view read more

5 stars for service and the food! The view was amazing and the wait staff were very attentive. We initially had a reservation for Tuesday where it was forecasted to rain and they graciously moved our reservation to Monday where the weather was perfect. read more

I have been to Chateau Eza twice in the last 2 weeks and plan to go again next week. It was one of the best meals I have had in the French Riviera in the past 10 years. The food was delicious and the attention corn the staff was even better. Everyone was wonderful to deal with and we're friendly, cheerful and helpful. Go for the prix fixed lunch - it is wonderful. The carrot sorbet is delicious, the duck breast is perfect and all 3 desserts are sublime - I am a chocolate fanatic, so the Black Chocolate was excellent. read more
There's nothing quite like dining in the sky. One meal at the famed Chateau Eza restaurant in Èze Village and you'll be spoiled for life my loves. We spent a glorious lunch at the 400-year-old luxury chateau overlooking the French Riviera and left with bellies satiated and our head in the clouds. Previously the Prince of Sweden'sprivate residence, we seriously felt like we were floating around in his opulent castle after this luxurious meal. The award-winning restaurant features panoramic water views, multiple private terraces, indoor glass-edged dining space, and a gorgeous tea room where the entire restaurant originally evolved from. Now that's what I call fine dining! ON THE MENU Aside from the a la carte menu, lunch and dinner services include a prix-fixe option from the degustation menu. Le hubs chose a la carte while I savored the specials of the day from the seasonal menu. Menu du Chateau (Mine) Amuse-bouche Red Mullet fillet "Ratatouille" served in vegetable essence White seabream with fennel, citrus and shellfish cooked in sauvignon Spring Freshness- rhubarb, strawberry, and vanilla A La Carte Menu (His) Grilled duck Foie Gras, first strawberry, and rhubarb vanilla compote Octopus and steamed Lobster with Aioli sauce, small winter vegetables, shellfish Assorted French pastries Quiet, private and peacefully serene, the air of opulence could definitely intimidate some, but for us (while on our honeymoon, mind you) it was the perfect setting for romance and reverie. Sitting at the meal, across from my love, with the Mediterranean Sea below us and the gorgeous lush hillside beyond, I swear I had little red hearts dancing from my goo-goo eyes y'all. Seriously, felt like I was dreaming, the experience was transcendental to say the least. But I'm often known to get lost in my thoughts and create some drama while I'm at it, lol. read more

One of the most memorable places to stay in the world! It really is hard to describe. The village of Èze leading up to Château Eza is lined with artists shops, with their paintings and jewelry out on display. You'll have to leave your luggage with the downstairs reception desk and walk up the cobblestone pathway, but it's so enjoyable to take in the view and start enjoying the quiet atmosphere. Parking is at the entrance to the village in an open lot--free overnight, but you gotta pay 9am-7pm. As you check into the hotel, you'll be guided to their restaurant terrace for a welcome drink to enjoy the spectacular view of the French Riviera. Our particular room was amazing! I can't begin to describe how romantic it is here! The bed was fit for royalty, and we had a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea with a table for two to enjoy. Our large waterfall shower even had a huge window. There was a separate room with an oversized jacuzzi tub, also with several windows! I think my husband's personal favorite feature was the bidet--totally electronic. Everything done at the push of a button. The seat is constantly warm, and it will put the seat up and down for you. It'll even deodorize and dFresh flowers were presented in our room as a welcome. The staff is very pleasant and ready to help with any questions or concerns. The restaurant itself is an unforgettable place! Make reservations in advance to get a window seat! ;) You start your evening with a cocktail or bottle of wine on the outdoor terrace before being shown to your table inside. It is a quaint and intimate restaurant that seats only about 20 people or so. There is a tasting menu and regular menu. We opted for the tasting menu--it did not disappoint! My personal favorite courses were the ratatouille and dessert! We weren't rushed, enjoyed the sunset through the wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, and didn't feel overly full in the end. The service is outstanding, and accommodates several languages, including (French of course) English, German, Russian and Italian. read more

The best view in Eze! Even better than the Chevre D'or and delicious food at a better price. I've only been here for lunch and for about 60 euro per person for a set menu, plus that breathtaking view, you really can't beat this restaurant. Desserts are amazing, food is light and full of flavor. I am obsessed with their eggplant bread. Please, please bring back that foie gras brulee amuse bouche you guys had for spring! I went back a few days later just to taste it again and it was replaced by an asparagus veloute. Tip: if you want the absolute best lunch here, book the private room. You pay extra for the breathtaking experience only available in Eze. A private room away from the crowd, private balcony overlooking the sea, and two dining tables that allow you to eat outdoors with the amazing view. read more

The Chateau Eza is absolutely breathtaking. We attended the most unbelievable wedding there and everything was absolutely perfect. The food was the best we've ever had and my boyfriend still won't stop talking about how it was as beautiful as it was delicious. The man in charge didn't miss a single beat and the entire staff was friendly and attentive. All of our needs were met with style and a charming smile. The bride and groom were extremely happy with their big day and I couldn't imagine a more beautiful place to begin your lives together. read more

Deserving of every one of its recognitions (including a recent placement on Condé Nast's Gold List). L'Occitane products in the bathroom. Duplex standard rooms with cool satin sheets and thick robes and towels. A wonderful one Michelin star restaurant hovering above the Côte d'Azur (we personally think it deserves another). And to top it off, it is located in an ancient village that has never lost its rustic touch. My husband and I love spending most of our traveling budget on a great room and meal... This really is worth every cent. read more

A true experience in this one of a kind Chateau. Service was fantastic & everyone was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was a daily treat with wonderful service. Views were breathtaking & shops on the mountain were quaint. My room was very lovely and clean. I loved my entire time there. read more
My husband visited Eze and Château Eza as a young man and has wanted to bring me here since then. We had a magical trip in the lovely, high service boutique hotel and we also dined in the restaurant. Excellent service is so rare in the hospitality industry and experiencing it is such an amazing treat. Staff are well trained, details are not overlooked. While waiting for check in, for example, we were ushered to a private balcony, served an amazing champagne, mint, lychee and anise along with some nuts, dried bananas. It sure changed your attitude about the check in process with passports etc. our room was both classic Château and state of the art--with high tech shower and automatic toilet. Our balcony view overlooking the cliffs on the right and a sweeping Côte d'Azur center and left. We dined in the restaurant and again the level of service and attention to every detail was superb. This small property's is perched on the side of an elevated cliff overlooking the beautiful Côte d'Azur. We had yellowfin tuna and the lamb entrees. They selected a cheese tray for us as well. Everything was superb. The next morning we had amazing in room massages. It was particularly soothing since I was 14 days past my marathon. Neither my husband nor I have ever had a better massage--the ladies worked through each and every kink without any associated pain in the process. Quiet and beautiful. If you're looking for a quaint little private restaurant this is the place for you. You have your pre dinner cocktails on the terrace over looking the cliffs of France. For your meal you're brought into another room that over looks the water depending on where you are seated. Everything was great but portions could of been larger (drinks and meals) for their prices. read more

Though I didn't stay at the Chateau, our tour guide stopped here and let us roam around the chateau for about an hour. It was essentially like a labyrinth or a maze. Lots of paths and you'd encounter arts and crafts stores, hotels, restaurants, etc. And the views were simply incredible. Judging from some of the photos, there might have been a few areas we didn't go and that just goes to show how vast this area is. read more

The location is absolutely spectacular, just wow! Service was excellent however the food was quite disappointing. We went with their full course menu but on hindsight we should have just ordered a la carte. I would like to give Chateau Eza a lower rating due to the food but the setting was just amazing and we were seated at one of the best tables. read more
What an absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking location. I loved every minute of visiting this spot. The views, the winding little paved streets, the shops, the people. We took beautiful photos, did a little shopping and even got lucky enough to get a tour of the chateau rooms and they were gorgeous. If only we could spare the close to €1000 a night charge. Also, got to watch a wedding party taking place in the chateau gardens, which was quite nice. If you are in this area it is definitely worth the drive. Oh! That was also pretty awesome.... The drive to get there!!! Beautiful little seaside towns. read more

An aperitif served on an outside terrace with breathtaking views of the sea promised a very enjoyable evening. We went with the tasting menu, which looked generous and creative. A bit surprised when amuse bouche arrived before the water, which we ordered right away. The wine list was brick thick, but the sommelier disappointed, distinguishing wines as "strong" and "mild" and consistently pushing towards the pricier selections from the most commercialised regions, despite the many interesting choices in the wine list from less known regions. Disregarding advice for a €400 Chateauneuf-du-pape, I went with a Bandol that a Michelin starred restaurant sommelier once recommended to me and was not disappointed. Unfortunately, I could not chose ingredients for the meals. Crab appetiser was creative and delicious, the fish was fresh (albeit a bit undercooked) but spoiled by somewhat stinky seaweeds that topped it. The main course, veal, was good but underwhelming following a string of interesting appetisers. The real disappointment was a sliced mushroom decorating the plate as the mushroom was all eaten by worms. We mentioned to the waiter, who did not understand the word "worms" at first, but then exclaimed: "Oh, animals!". "Yes, animals," confirmed my wife as the waiter rushed to the kitchen. Upon return she said: "The Chef apologises". That's' it! The Grade Chef considered it beyond himself to apologise in person or to at least try saving experience by a gesture of sorts.
