Bittersweet Experience -- Honest Reflections from a Fellow Peruvian It's bittersweet to write this review, and I actually waited until today to ensure I could share my thoughts as fairly and thoughtfully as possible. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated -- I truly appreciated the charming details like the little birds on the lamps and the touches of greenery. The ambiance had potential, although the air conditioning was uncomfortably cold for my taste. In fact, I noticed another table requested to be moved, possibly for the same reason. Now, onto the heart of the matter -- the food. I ordered the classic Jalea. The portion size was decent, but for the price, I expected a bit more depth of flavor. Unfortunately, it tasted rather bland. My in-laws ordered Lomo Saltado, which they said had good flavor, but the meat was quite tough. Again, for the price point, we anticipated a higher level of quality and tenderness. On a positive note, the service started off wonderfully. Our waitress was kind, respectful, and attentive -- she took time to explain and listen, which I genuinely appreciated. However, the experience shifted slightly when we asked for fresh canchita. For us Peruvians, this toasted corn is more than a side dish -- it's a symbol of home, comfort, and pride in our culinary culture. Unfortunately, the first serving was stale. When I politely asked for a fresh batch, she initially insisted it was fresh. Only after my in-law agreed with me that she replace it. To any restaurant owner reading this: please train your staff never to contradict a guest's feedback, especially about something so simple to correct- I knew the quality Well!. A serving of canchita costs very little, but the customer's trust and experience are invaluable. While the service was courteous overall, and the atmosphere pleasant, the food and final impression didn't fully reflect the richness and passion that Peruvian cuisine deserves. I started this review by calling it bittersweet because, as a proud Peruvian, it means the world to me when a restaurant represents our culture with authenticity and excellence. Our food tells the story of who we are -- bold, flavorful, and full of heart. I truly hope this establishment can elevate its offerings to match that standard. The potential is there, but the execution fell short this time.

Visit @cevichcentral and was blow away by the quality and flavors of this Peruvian restaurant. Everything was fresh and tasty plus the decoration gets you to a really Caribbean relax vacation! The tuna was one of the best ones that I have tried and the ceviche is the real deal, just like they do it in Peru. Love the rice and the desserts too.. 528 S Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789

AMAZING PERUVIAN RESTAURANT! PLENTY OF GLUTEN FREE DISHES! The seafood and fish they use is top notch ( I am so happy they don't use sway fish like most peruvian restaurants around Orlando area or the country). Every dish we have tried has been very delicious. The Fisherman's Jalea is my favorite so far and they can make it gluten-free which is hard to find in peruvian restaurants. All dishes are a bit pricey but worth every penny in my opinion. Maria was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. Angel is an excellent chef that comes out to your table to make sure you are enjoying the food he prepared and answer any questions you have in regards to the menu.

Ceviche central is what people would call a diamond in the rough. I tried really hard to like everything that I tried but there were definitely flavors missing that are a non-negotiable when visiting an authentic Peruvian restaurant. I went with a larger party so I got to try several different dishes. First off, the maracuya (passion fruit) Pisco Sour was perfect. Good start to the experience. I ordered the Ceviche carretillero with gator tail. Great combination of flavors with a crunch and some spice to it too. This was the best bite of the evening. Next, I tried my friend's Huancaina Pappardelle with Picanha. Huancaina pappardelle was a disappointment - it seemed like the pasta was not even cooked in salt and the sauce had absolutely no flavor to it. Picanha was cooked nicely and was pretty juicy. This next dish was probably the saddest of the table. The calamari with the purple pasta had no flavor whatsoever in the whole dish. Unfortunately, every bite was bland and tasted the same. Only good aspect to the dish was that the calamari was cooked right and not chewy. For dessert, they gave us a complimentary slice of aji amarillo cheesecake. Very interesting combination and something that was unique for sure. Overall, I see so much potential and they have the most unique Peruvian menu I have seen in Orlando. Creativity is there for sure, just the flavors haven't made its way entirely. I would much rather see traditional dishes with an amazing authentic taste. Service was great and they definitely were attentive to our big party. I will give them another chance in some time and hope the flavors are there next time.

The restaurant is beautiful, clean and not too busy on a Tuesday. My server was attentive and knowledgeable on the menu, so was able to recommend dishes based on my preference. I ordered the pulpo parrillero, which was amazing and served with a generous portion! It was served on a beautiful cast iron dish that kept the potatoes hot and crispy, while not over cooking the octopus on top. The octopus was flavourful and perfectly cooked -- the best octopus I've had in Central Florida! The Peruvian corn balanced the textures wonderfully. I also ordered a pisco passion fruit drink which transported me to the tropics. I was with a party of six and it took a while for each person to get their food and drinks but the server did offer a side dish to compensate. All-in-all, I will definitely recommend and be back soon!

Cute dining in Winter Park with all the great Peruvian flavors, coming from a Peruvia foodie herself, Winter Park is known for their nice scenery, and this is located in the strip with cute ambience with indoor and patio dining. Small casual, but cute vibes. My friends and I ate here and we tried a couple of dishes, including an appetizer of Papa a la huancaina, anticuchos, seafood octopus platter, and of course, my favorite, ceviche. Their fish ceviche was really flavorful. I would maybe skip the papa a la huancaina next time. Overall, we really enjoyed our time and our meal. service was pleasant. Quick and polite. Perfect for lunch, date or post shopping date. I would definitely return when in the winter park area!

    The burger we never got

Food (at least what we got ) was excellent. It was not a busy lunch hour- there were just 6 people inside and me and my friend outside. We ordered the 3 ceviche dish and the alpaca burger and a drink k and some waters. I had planned on also trying out their dessert menu but did not get to. After my friend's drink and my water was brought out, we didn't see our server until 40 minutes later when the ceviche was brought out. When he brought it out he sat it down and left. Didn't check on us - offer another water- just went back inside. 20 minutes later I decided to go in and he was talking to one of the other tables. I asked for the check and said I believe he forgot about our burger- he just said ok and started to go to the kitchen so I had to stop him to say that we didn't want the burger at this point- we just wanted the check. I had high hopes because the location is nice and the pictures online were great--- and the ceviche was the absolute best I have ever had. I'm just annoyed because we wanted to try so much more but were ignored the entire time. Don't get me wrong- I know it takes time for the fresh ceviche- but never checking on us, our drinks, how was our food, and also not even putting the alpaca burger in.... It was just horrible service - and we were not expecting that on Park Ave.

We checked this place out on a Thursday night with some friends, including one who's Peruvian and really wanted to give it a try. It's still fairly new to Winter Park, and I've been curious since I love ceviche and seafood in general. When we walked in, it was pretty empty. The space was freezing inside (seriously bring a jacket), and at first glance it kind of felt like a fast-casual spot because of the ordering counter setup--but it's definitely more of a sit-down experience. They had one server working at the time who was super friendly and spoke Spanish with us, which made the experience feel a bit more personal. She made some solid recommendations too. We tried one of their Peruvian drinks made with pisco--wish I remembered the name--but it was solid. Not too sweet and paired nicely with the food. My wife got the classic seafood ceviche (non-spicy), and it was really good--fresh, citrusy, and actually a generous portion. Easily one of the better ceviches we've had in Orlando. I went with the grilled seafood platter, which looked great in the photos but was kinda dry in reality. The red sauce on it had nice flavor, but I found myself constantly sipping water between bites. It had a decent variety of seafood, and the portion was big, but I probably wouldn't order it again. One thing to know--it's definitely on the pricier end (it's Winter Park, so not a shock). If you're coming here, come for the ceviche. That alone made the visit worth it. Everything else felt like a maybe.

Food was delicious. However very expensive. Told the server to not put cilantro on any of my foods.. and they came with cilantro... it was a good experience but don't think I'll be back.

$28 dollar vegan ceviche with a bunch of cut up canned artichoke instead of the mushroom they say in the menu... RIP OFF!
    Denyss C.

Unfortunately really disappointed, I drove 40 mins hoping i was going to have a nice meal, but no. I am not sure if it has new owners, but menu has a lot less choices. I did my best to accommodate to the menu because they had ran out of the items I usually like, causa, chaufa, anticuchos and more. I ended up ordering the tostones appetizer, all we got was a flat tostone not even a cup shape, with a little bit of meat $26, presentation super blah in my opinion not worth the price just a rip off.... then i got a vegan ceviche which states it comes with mushrooms..... they took me as a dumb customer and filled a dish with a bunch of canned artichoke and not a piece of mushroom, is like ordering fish but getting chicken instead... really $28 for this???????? The waitress then stated she would do me the favor and take that out of my check... do me the favor really? I came for the food and the experience all i got was a really disappointing birthday dinner.... I will never come back and suggest for anyone trying to go here to think twice because you might get chicken instead of fish....

The bartender acknowledged us and told us that someone would be with us shortly. We had to wait a few minutes, but we were eventually sat. Our waiter came over right away. He was nice, but he took about 10 minutes explaining the menu going through each category and giving his suggestions. It was just a little bit too much information and a little overwhelming. The glasses on our table were also dirty. Our waiter handled it well and brought us new cups. I ordered an iced latte and our waiter brought me a hot latte, but he was nice enough to change it to iced. For our entrées, we ordered the lemon pancakes, breakfast flatbread, potatoes, breakfast paella and avocado toast. The highlight was the pancakes. The lemon flavor was really present and the blueberries on top added a nice sweet touch. The potatoes were also delicious with the sauce that was on them. The avocado toast was okay. It was really small and not very flavorful. My friends loved the breakfast flatbread but I felt it was a little watery. The paella was underwhelming. Some of the rice was a little hard. It just didn't hit like the other dishes did, but then again I don't really like rice for breakfast. Overall, it was a great experience. There were just a few misses, but I will continue to dine here.

We also tried the mimosa double since they had a special for brunch for $5.50. I got the breakfast sandwich which came with smashed potatoes. The server was great and checked in on us several times. The food took a good amount of time to arrive, but it was decent. I had a bite of the wrap and I liked the crunch of the croutons. I felt like it could've used a smidge more dressing, but it was overall good. The sandwich was also good, but I think it could've benefitted from being on sliced and toasted bread instead of potato bun. The egg was also very well done; I prefer it a little jammy or runny. The smashed potatoes were pretty good and it came with a decent amount. The mimosa couldn't used a smudge more orange juice, but it was a double so understandable. A little loud inside, but it's an open area with dart boards and loud conversations. We didn't have to yell and we could carry a conversation well enough. Parking was a bit rough. We parked around the corner on the street.

Now, diving in, I've only had food from Red Panda Noodle - which I initially discovered during Tasty Tuesdays in the Milk District. My first time having them, I fell immediately in love with their beef noodle option: Beef & Broccoli. It is flavorful and filling! The price points are standard (roughly $17.00 for the Beef & Broccoli). All other dishes are reasonably priced. As for A La Cart City as a place, it's centrally located off Orange Ave. There is PAID parking all around - sadly, unless you use the DTO promo code for a free two hours of parking, you will have to pay to park just about anywhere in Downtown Orlando. Parking is ample, but it can get pricey depending on when / where you park. There is ample seating downstairs and upstairs. It is service animal-friendly. They have a large screen for viewing sports or displaying any video (if you reserve the space for an event). The staff is kind, attentive, and helpful. They have a decent (not super large, but decent nonetheless) beer and wine selection. Price points are comparable to the other A La Cart locations. The overall location is great in the sense that it's a great spot to start a "bar-hop" vibe and make your way down into the thick of DTO. All in all, I am a fan of all three A La Cart lcoations. Also, did I mention, it is a great little spot for events! So, definitely visit them if you have not already.
