It's much more spacious than their old Arboretum store and they had such wonderful new home items. We are redoing a midcentury ranch home near the lake and have been unable to find a suitable piece of furniture for the TV to go on in the bedroom. My mom walked in and instantly found the piece she had in her mind all this time. We also found some really nice silk palms and a leather ottoman to finish out the room. As it turns out, the piece of furniture was too big to fit in a Suburban so we had to grab a U-Haul. It was near closing time, but Scott (the Scott in Heather Scott Home) told us he would gladly wait for us to return and help load it. We were really concerned about getting such a large piece of furniture out of the trailer once we got to the lake but the way Scott secured it and positioned it we were able to get it on a furniture dolly and inside in the blink of an eye. Everything we bought was perfect! It totally modernized the space while keeping within the mid century ranch vibe. The girls at the store also offered vendor information for the company who stained their concrete and called me a few days later with information on a Benjamin Moore paint color that I was interested in. I could not believe how helpful Scott and the salesgirls were. This was a great customer service experience and we are super happy with all of our purchases. The project involved figuring out how to best fit in with the existing features of the room (high ceiling, big window, decorative columns, wrapping around corners etc). The design and final build quality was excellent -- and less than half the cost of the pre-made shelving design bids. I had thought that custom built-ins would be more expensive, and they were much cheaper! I'd use them again in a hot second. Per communications -- I had no problems -- keep in mind that they are a working shop and don't have full-time customer service people sitting by the phone all day long. The one other fyi is that they do the cabinetry, not the cabinet painting, so you need to arrange the painting as a second step. (Even with the cost of painting, my project is still thousands cheaper than the pre-made stuff that I had gotten a bid for.)

When building our house, we balked at the price quote our builder provided for our custom built cabinetry. So we decided to head out on our own and try to find better work AND a better price. The first guy we found gave us an identical quote and had no real samples to show us... sooo that was big no. We were beginning to wonder if we should just go with the one that our contractor had recommended. But we found distinctive wood crafts (by googling, i think) and their quote came in at about 70% of the initial number! Of course we thought they must be shoddy, right? WRONG! Their work is top notch. We visited the AIA Center for Architecture to see their work. Pretty darn close to perfection. We were sold, and happily so. Not only is the work precise, perfectly functional, and beautiful to look at, it is incredibly sturdy! My kitchen drawers glide effortlessly, even though they've held a couple of large cast iron dutch oven. Those pots are HEAVY!! Sonny did a great job installing, and made the return trip necessary to fine tune everything. He might come across as gruff at times, but who doesn't? He's a good man who's great at what he does. Nine months later, we are still as much in love with our cabinetry as we were the day we moved in. *if you do visit them at the shop, don't worry! it might be in a bit of a disarray, but this is no reflection on their professionalism, promptness, precision, or exquisite attention to detail.

Ty will not pay me $242 that he owes me for work I performed for " Austin Tops" since July 3rd and which he has agreed that he does owe me that money. His response for not paying me is due to the fact that he has $50 to his name currently. As a "business/company" you should have money to pay your workers/contractors when you hire them to do a job for you. At the end of the day, I still expect you to pay me Ty. Update, Ty reached out to threaten me about my honest review instead of paying up like the man he says he is.

While I haven't taken advantage of their services myself, I got to explore the showroom and I appreciate the several built-out kitchens and cabinet displays spread out over three large rooms of their new 6,000 sq. ft. location. The many styles are great to see in person, and there are some amazing choices including glossy cabinets that open upwards like gull-wing doors on a car. And some of the tiles are incredibly realistic in their mimicry of expensive marble or other stone. Of course there are samples of real stone from brands like Cambria and there are displays of handles and pulls for every style. It's good to have options and this is a welcome addition to north Austin!
