    Good. I won't deny that. But $120 for two pizzas. Wow. Please nobody tell my father that's born and raised in Napoli that his daughter just spent that on a pizza. It was good, yes, but the whole process is just so New York. Waiting in line earlier in the day, placing an order, paying $40 for a cheese pizza and $68 for the nduja. The interior is pretty cute actually, very simple. At least the pies were a good size! It's good I just don't think I'd return, ya know. Cheese was better than nduja

    There's a lot of hype around Ceres because it was started by two chefs who formerly worked at the infamous Eleven Madison Park. My NYC friends warned me the lines would be CERES-iously long. According to Tiktok and hearsay, it's 45 minutes just to order and 2+ hours for the pizza to be crafted, baked, and served. The three of us got in line around 3:45 PM a couple Sundays ago. Surprisingly, we only waited 5-10 minutes to order. Still, we were told our pizza wouldn't be ready until 5:45 and to come back at 5:30 to grab seats (first come, first serve). NDUJA - 68 The toppings included San Marzano (sauce), nduja, burrata, and aged balsamic. Pricey, but we justified it ($8.50 per slice, which is around how much a slice at a fancier pizza parlor costs nowadays). There was a generous amount of burrata which was evenly distributed and stuck onto the slice. None of that usual slip, slide, and drip everywhere. The nduja added a nice sweet and spicy kick. One of the cleanest slices I've had in the city. Minimal grease and didn't leave me feeling bloated and awful. The sourdough crust was well-executed and impressed my friends, though I'm not the biggest sourdough fan. We had a slice left over, which held up great the next day in the air fryer. Overall, solid pizza, but you have to commit to a full pie, with the cheapest option (tomato) starting at $35. I did enjoy the nduja pie, but I'm curious about the white (topped beautifully with microscopically chopped chives) and the mushroom for the umami-packed flavors. I would return, but would definitely be strategic about timing the line.

    Here's a second review--this time doubling down and leaning into why many reviewers have declared it not just great, but one of the most memorable pizza in NYC. To me, best way to describe CERES would be, innovation & crust that stands out. Ultra thin, cracker-crisp crust and remarkable chew, a texture that sets it apart from typical NYC pizza. The quality of the olive oil is outstanding. Actually the quality of all the ingredients they use are outstanding. The cheese, the sauce, you can taste the premium ingredients in every single bite. Is definitely a pizza elevated to art. The whole ordering and waiting process could be a little chaotic but is SO WORTH IT! Trust me. A Must-Try for pizza lovers.

    If the price was lower .. then it would have been 5 stars. Staff was nice. Za is solid. Lowkey vibe appropriate for a pizza joint. We had the Nduja and mushroom. We love both. We leaned towards the mushroom on first bite .. half the table enjoyed the Nduja after their 2nd slice I personally would bring my own chilli flakes / oil next time

    7.1-7.2 rating. Probably one of the least memorable pizzas to eat in New York. You can find better tasting pies elsewhere. If the owners read this, whoever is manning the front desk 4/26 is way out of pocket and extra rude. He has a "I work at Ceres so I am the rule" attitude.

    Known for having 2 chefs that worked at the 3 Michelin starred restaurant Eleven Madison Park that wanted to bring pizza to an elevated level. The prices are ridiculous no matter how you look at it especially since New York has so many delicious options to choose from. You have to order for a time slot and come back to pick up the pie, yes they do not sell slices only pies. I ordered the mushroom pizza($48) that came with creme fraiche, mushroom, onion and chive. You can taste the ingredients pretty well and it had a nice crunch and texture. One thing I did not enjoy was that the crust was really charred where it tasted burnt. Overall the quality and taste of the pizza was really good but definitely not something I would try again since you cannot buy single slices. Visited January 2026 Food- 9/10 Cleanliness- 9/10 Staff- 9/10

    I had been wanting to try this place for months after looking for "best pizza places in New York." Ceres is on so many of the lists and the Barstool pizza review definitely didn't hurt. The new online ordering system has helped cut down on the wait times/lines. I found their online ordering system through their instagram and added my pizza to the cart. I refreshed throughout the day so I could pick it up at a time when we would be in the area. I chose 12:45 and it was ready on time. They have 5 or 6 tables and some bar stool seating in the place but we took our pizza to go. I tried the tomato pie since not a lot of places near me do that style and it was really good. The tomato sauce is flavorful, but very acidic. A couple of slices is all I could try at a time to avoid acid reflux. The slices are huge and it's a great portion to share. Looking back, I wish I would have tried the cheese as well just to compare. But, 2 pizzas for myself would have been too much and I couldn't find anyone to trade a slice with. Overall, the pizza was great, the wait wasn't bad with the online ordering, but I wanted a to try a slice of each. It would be nice if they offered pizza by the slice so people could try them. I would definitely order again the next time I'm in New York.

    Ceres has been on my to try list for a while, but the insane wait times after the One Bite Pizza review and other media praise definitely turned me off initially. But it seems like the hype has died down a bit and they're operating at a much more steady rate. Came by on a Friday at around 4pm before a haircut. They mentioned it'd take about 45min to be ready. Ended up actually asking them to schedule it out a little later since I knew my appointment would take closer to an hour and they obliged. There's some table and counter seating in the restaurant, but don't expect to sit a group of more than 2-3 at a table unless you're showing up on an odd hour. They suggested coming about 15min before your pick up order in order to grab a seat. Okay onto the pizza. We got the mushroom which after tax was like $52. A very steep price indeed for a whole pie. But the pie itself is big and you can get pretty full off of 2-3 slices. I was pretty blown away at how thin the crust was, but not too crispy to the point that you're chewing on broken glass. Mushroom toping itself was great. The creme fraiche with mushrooms and onions was second to none as far as white pies I've had. The ingredients are definitely quality. My only gripes with this place is I'd love if they served slices (mostly because I definitely wanted to try a red slice as well on my visit) and it would've been nice if they had stuff like a lemon slice for the white pie or crushed red peppers on the side. Small nits, but definitely something to add some variety in-case you get a little tired after the second slice. Also, service was very friendly at the place is nice and clean. Also there's a bathroom which is always a plus in Manhattan!

    Just like the rent, the prices are too damn high. The pizza itself is great and the slices are hefty and you may be fooled by how light and airy the crust is but you will get full off of two slices; three if you're super hungry. We went on a Thursday afternoon and a co-worker of ours went earlier to wait in line and order a white pie for us right when they opened. There were like 12 people in line ahead of then once the order was placed, then the pizza was ready within the next 20 minutes. The staff there were really nice as well. The restaurant has enough places to sit as well in case you have a small group; though there's a lot of in and out traffic. Some things to note: - they do not sell slices; only pies and they average out to around $40-$50 a pie depending on what you get - they do not allow you to call ahead to place an order and do not leverage any delivery services like Uber Eats or Grubhub; you have to go there in person to place an order and then either wait or return at a later time to pick it up - apparently they can sell out each day; this might be a way to generate hype - watch out for the step in front of the door; it's just good practice to watch where you walk

    Arrived 10:30am and was the 3rd person in line, pizza was cooked and served to us around 11:20. Since they cook to order, even though the line is visually not that long, you'll end up needing to wait hours for your pizza if you don't get there before opening. By the time we received our pie, the folks ordering were having to wait until past 1pm to pick up their pizza. My hot take - you ideally need 5-6 people to split 2 pies, otherwise it's not worth it to come. Reasoning - ceres only sells by the whole pie, which is 8 slices. The first two slices are heaven - perfectly crisp crust with no tip sagging, fascinating flavors, not oily at all. The mushrooms and onions are fantastic, you love them, they love you. By the third slice, you start feeling a twinge of flavor fatigue. Haha, this is a lot of mushrooms, your body asks, are you sure you're okay? This is where it would be ideal to swap to a second pie flavor to spice up your taste buds and refresh your palate. In my infinite hubris, I ate a fourth slice. We were almost done with our pizza, how could we not finish the last glorious slice? It was a slog - the food had started getting cold, the crème fraiche which was once so delicious has started to congeal, and I have to rally to finish these last few bites. It is war against my better judgement. I sip my cup of New York tap water, and lean back in triumph? Self disgust? All my thoughts have become pizza thoughts. Anyways come to Ceres, don't eat half a pizza, and pray they sell slices again someday.

    Finally got around to trying Cere's - arrived at 2:00ish on a Saturday and the pizza was available for 4:00, so not a bad wait. We got back at 3:40 and were lucky to snag seats. As we waited, the staff came by and let us know the pie had come out a little darker than they wanted, so they'd be remaking it and it would be another ten minutes - and we appreciate the care for quality! That said, while this was a good pizza, don't get me wrong, I don't think it met the hype. The pizza was thin and VERY crispy, almost a bit too much. The salt had flavor, and the saltiness of the cheese provided another layer of depth - but the oil on the top really defines the flavor. The crust had a great char, and it's definitely a high 8 score pizza - just not the mythical 9 that I was hoping for.

    Dave Portnoy was on to something. He gave it a 9.2, my boyfriend said 9.7 on the cheese pizza, and I'd give it a solid 9. However, our table neighbors swapped slices with us and we got to try the mushroom chive - easily a 9.8 for me. Get here EARLY. Orders are placed in advance, so don't expect to walk up and get a pie. Example: we ordered around 2 and came back around 4:15 when our pie was ready. You can also only order a whole pizza. Slices are massive (size of my head or bigger) so come with friends. Undercarriage was solid and you can just tell this pizza was done well. The crust has a nice crisp and even the cheese had layers of flavor. We can't wait to come back to NY and try the other pizzas.

    I'd been waiting to try this for months and I definitely say it delivered. We got there 15 mins before they opened and were the 4th in line. We ordered the tomato and accidentally got the cheese but they made it right. Both were delicious but we preferred the tomato for how light it was with the nice garlic kick. The crust was incredible for both. We'll definitely be back!

Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful--especially notable for New York--and it made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. A small heads-up: it's a bit tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. That said, the hidden, underground subway setting is part of the charm and makes the whole experience feel unique. It is located right in the hallway of a subway entrance, next to a bar and across from a coffee shop, and it somehow manages to feel like a cozy, sit-down restaurant right in the middle of NYC. Don't let the odd location fool you, the food here is outstanding. The Neapolitan and Sicilian-style pizzas are both exceptional, with rich, well-balanced flavors and perfectly executed crusts. Every bite tastes high quality. Also, don't skip the house-made lemonade! The experience is even better because of the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. They were all so kind to so many people. From offering to keep leftovers in the fridge until a customer was done at their broadway show, to offering a scone to a young child while he and his father waited for their pizza to be done, it was more than just flipping a table and onto the next tip, it was humanity at its best. Be sure to give See No Evil Pizza a try. You certainly will want to come back again for more.
