This place is just getting worse. Multiple times they have tried to force us to use our benefits to buy glasses when I can go down the street and get the exact frame for less. Also I've tried to obtain my OWN prescription and they have me jump through hoops. This place is a joke. read more

This has been the worst optometrist I have ever been to and I have worn glasses most my life. They are also supposed to have a "premier program". Their selection is minimum and almost nothing falls into your allowance range. You're lucky if you find anything under $250, otherwise everything is $300+. You almost can never and I mean never get through to this office. When they gave me my prescription they didn't include my PD #. I spent 40 mins calling continuously to try to speak to somebody in the office to get that number so I can try to order glasses elsewhere online like Zenni Optical. The reason being is because I could not get anything on the lenses that I needed. No blue light filter, no scratch resistance, no anti reflection, NOTHING. I do also understand that has part to do with my insurance, but I digress. They told me that they could not give me this information over the phone and that I would need to come in. I had let them know that I was just in there and I could not come back down to get this information and I should have been given it when I was there. They've reluctantly agree to fax it to me. Rather than fax it to me and appropriate amount of time they waited until 5 minutes before 5:00 to send it to me. I had called an hour after I had inquired because it had not came through and they told me that they would send it by the end of the day. Everything with them is literally the last few minutes of the day. After almost 2 weeks I had called to check on my glasses to see how long it was going to take for them to be ready and this was around 3:45 in the afternoon. The woman who answered the phone told me that my glasses had came in first thing in the morning and wasn't sure if I had been notified yet. I had advised her that no I had not been notified which is why I was calling to see when they would be in. Since the frames that I received have lenses that don't even have anti-reflective coating they're making me sick because I feel like I'm in a fish bowl because everything is reflecting into my eyes lightwise and I need to return them. Of course I call first thing this morning November 2nd to speak to somebody about their return policy because I called the optical department several times and nobody will pick up. Shocker that nobody can help me and I get transferred to the optical department and nobody answers and I have to leave a voicemail. It's already been several hours later and still nobody has called me back. This office severely lacks in customer service, they lacking communication and overall just do not care about patients or showing any type of care for what they're doing and they're in the business of helping people see. These people chose to have this line of work people who need these services didn't choose not to be able to see. I think this office sincerely needs to take a look at their staff and lack of enthusiasm or willing to provide bare minimum customer service to its patrons because I can guarantee that I will never use this office again and I will steer anyone clear of using this office because it is absolutely so unprofessional. read more

Update: The next time I went in to Ceres Eye Care, I spoke with the manager. Showed her my glasses along with my old glasses and she agreed the frames were defective. She had Kayla help me find a correct fitting frame. They replaced my glasses and I am very happy. I would change the star rating to higher, but that is not available. They charge so much money for referrals. I suggest going somewhere else: I told the doctor about my eye issue a month ago at an exam appointment. They scheduled me for another appointment and said they would help me with my issue at the upcoming one. I thought they would help me, but instead they charged me $70 just to say they could do nothing for me and that I needed to see a specialist. read more

Horrible for people on med-ical. It's a lottery for us on medi-ical. you wait 3 months just to get an appointment and you had better be the fastest one getting through on the phones or you miss your chance and you have to wait another 3 months because a doctor only comes in every 3 months for med-ical customers. Example: they tell you we will take appointments on Jan 1 for medi-ical appointments so you wait 3 months you call and you get no one answering the phone or a message saying something went wrong please call back and thats what you forever get, so if you call the next day and the phones are miraculously on, now they tell you you missed the boat you were supposed to call yesterday and now you have to wait another 3 months. They PURPOSLEY do NOT answer the phones ya'll. How do they make money at this place? You have to physically go in to do anything. Like they are living in the days before phones were invented or something. They are running customers AWAY by not answering phones for appointments. I say the BBB needs to find out how they conduct buisness. Any buisness would fall if not for customers calling on the phone for appointments thats how buisnesses are conducted now days. They can't be bothered with anyone. How do they survive? They will close thier doors you watch, mark my words because there is no way you can conduct buisness like this by never answering the phones which is potential money to be made. I've been coming to this location for TWENTY-NINE YEARS. I started seeing Dr. Wing in 1994. I've worn contacts for the last 25 years. The location changed to Ceres Eye Care with a different optometrist a few years ago. Suddenly, during my last eye exam last year, they began charging a $30 "contact consultation fee". Absolutely ridiculous. I've been wearing contacts for 25 years. It's totally disgusting to be nickeled and dime'd by your optometrist. When I asked if the fee could be waived, I was told it could not. So, now you've lost a client of 29 years, and lost the continued revenue, all because you got greedy and wanted $30 more a year to tell me how to put on contacts that I've continually worn from your office for the last 25 years. I'll never come back. I've found it easier to get my eye exam from Kaiser (20 minutes), obtain my prescription, and then take that prescription to Costco to get it filled (15 minutes; no paperwork) and contacts ordered. I received my new contacts in 2 days. Much easier than dealing with the less than welcoming staff at Ceres Eye Care. Ridiculous business sense on your part to charge $30 for a "contact consultation". I try to support smaller businesses, but I will not be taken advantage of by smaller businesses that I tried to support. Especially after almost 30 years of loyalty. If I could give 0 stars to the ladies in the front! I would! I made an appointment and when I arrived they said there was no appointment. That we called and canceled an appointment. Which was a lie! I showed them proof of the appointment on my phone and they continued to say no it's not showing up in the computer. Why would I lie?? The doctor is nice but the ladies in the front including the manager don't communicate as they should. I would advise call them yourself and confirm over and over because they're not going to! They say one thing and do another. I'm sure the lady who made the appointment is the one who canceled it herself. I don't recommend this place for that reason! I needed an eye exam and was recommended this office. The receptionist staff was friendly and courteous. I did not have to wait long before I was seen. Dr.Mann reviewed my pre-test and began her optical exam. She was very calm and took her time to explain her findings with me. I could tell she loves what she does just by the way pointed out the details of my exam, and encouraged me to ask questions and address any of my concerns. First of all, let's be clear if I could, I would keep this zero stars, second of all the receptionist suck they're stuck up, conceded, it was a hot day 103° they sent us outside, waiting in the heat at least they could do was open doors and say come inside and wait in the A/C , did they have the decency to do that? No, they made you wait until they got back exactly from break they were inside the AC chatting away, drinking a Starbucks making people wait outside in the heat. They open the doors after a few minutes after their break was over, making us wait in the heat, my appointment was right on the hour so of course I was late for my appointment because they open the doors late and I don't know what kind of Quacky doctor that they have but I've been to a doctors all my life and never ever have. I had my eyes checked in less than 10 minutes and rushed out of office and this Quacky doctor she says my eyes have not changed. I've been wearing glasses since I was nine years old my prescription changes the last time my eyes were checked. The doctor told me my eyes were really bad and he did a real good exam and this quacky female doctor at this Ceres eye place just told me to read the chart, flip the lens 2/3times and that was it the exam was over.. she said to me and my spouse " well according to what I see neither one of your prescriptions have changed, but if you want me to, I can increase it a little bit on one side" and that is exactly what she did, now what kind of Quacky Doctor, would do that kind of thing she's telling both of us that our prescriptions did not change from 2018, because we took our old prescriptions in to show her and the glasses that were wearing, and she tells us our prescriptions have not changed according to her 510 minute exam which she just tells us to read a chart and she does a quick flip of a lens of a one to switch and that's it of the exam because between me and my spouse to people exam only took 10 minutes and then she states our prescriptions have not changed in five years. There is something definitely wrong now I have to pay out-of-pocket to go see a different optometrist because my insurance won't cover another exam because this Quacky doctor messed everything up Ceres eye care is the worst optometrist ever would I recommend them NO! stay away from this Optometrist!! I recently reached out to Ceres Eyecare to see if they could redeem them selves with a poor customer service, . it is unfortunate that there are only a few choices for eye care in the City Of Ceres. I sure do miss the staff from Dr. Wing's office and his administrative staff that were so helpful and caring. I recommend some training for this office ,poor reflection or quality care. Such a clean and friendly place. Love how I'm always greeted. Enjoy bringing my kids here because I know we are taken care of. Had gone to other optical centers including Costco. I dont know what materials they use because my non glare lenses were always peeling. This is my 2nd year getting glasses here with Dr. Mann and I am stoked to see that lenses are in tacked nothing is peeling and love how I upgraded to high definition lenses. I won't go here ever again. I went for my annual exam and less the 24 hours passed and I woke up in the middle of the night with my eyes swollen shut and yellow goop coming out of my eyes causing my eyelashes to stick together I had to wash my eyes 6 times to get them fully opened and clean... I called them in the morning as soon as they opened letting them know what was going on and the lady was arguing with me on the phone saying "well what do you want me to do for you, your going to have to pay another co pay if you want the doctor to look at your eyes or give you any medicine" she was absolutely so rude! I was their less then 24 hours prior! The infection was 100% their fault and they didn't wipe anything down prior to my exam nor after. The doctor treated me as if I didn't just see her the day before. They took no ownership no apology or anything! read more
