I just had CenturyLink services installed in my Seven Hills/Henderson home and am very, Very happy. (I saw all the bad reviews here and felt I owed it to CenturyLink to share my good experience.) Earlier this week, a Century Link rep knocked on my door to pitch me on services. After quizzing him about internet speeds and the cost for internet + a good premium channels package, I invited him in. I ended up signing up for bundled services of 10M of internet + Prism Premium TV (includes tons of digital channels + HBO, Showtime, STARZ, Cinemax, Encore, plus all On Demand) with DVR for two TVs, all for $140/month. (If I hadn't wanted Premium, there were three other packages and all were very nicely priced.) The installation guy made quick work of things today. The whole system is wireless; the guide and remote are easy to use; and the internet is good (14MB -- about the same speed I was from Cox on slow days even though I was *paying* for 25MB). Also, there is no channel-change delay (something that drove me nuts with Cox if I wanted to quickly flip back and forth between two channels). In addition, the CenturyLink DVR boxes let you watch and/or record 4 shows at a time. And with the Prism TV app you can watch TV on any device in your house (laptop, iPad, iPhone, etc.) My monthly Cox bill was $210 and I was only getting HBO and Showtime -- so bottom line, I'm saving $70/month and getting more premium channels and solid internet service. And I got a $100 Am Ex gift card for signing up (the online registration for that was easy). I highly recommend CenturyLink and would advise you to call my very nice sales rep -- who is also the area General Manager -- who is with a company called Provision, an authorized CenturyLink reseller. His name is Bobby Lyman and his direct line/cell is 321-265-2004. (He used to live in Orlando, so that's a Florida area code -- but he lives in Vegas now.) UPDATE ON 4/6/14: I see that some of the negative reviews/complaints are based on (1) installation fee disputes, (2) issues with prices, and prices going up after a year and (3) customer service issues when canceling. It's certainly possible that some sales reps are not as honest as others, but my sales rep Bobby (1) waived all the installation fees, (2) informed me that service rates were promotional for 1 year and would increase by about $20/month in a year (still cheaper than Cox), and (3) gave me his cell number to make sure I get good customer service (which I assume is good for him as a rep of the company). UPDATE ON 4/9/14: Wanted to add a note now that I have had service for four days. The internet is streaming well above 10M most of the time -- averaging 14/15M -- and the TV service has been great including quick download times for On Demand shows. Very happy. UPDATE ON 8/4/14: Because I'm now working from home, I went back to Cox for high speed internet service (50MB) for my business as of July -- but I am happily staying with PrismTV. I love having ALL the premium channels in digital. (Also, when I called Century Link to see whether I could pay for faster internet speeds and was pretty disappointed to find out that I couldn't because it's not available in my area, the service rep took another $20/month off my bill through the end of my contract. All in all, while I feel bad for those who say they have gotten poor customer service from Century Link, I myself have gotten very good service.) read more

Century Link is the landline telephone service provider for my home in Las Vegas. For decades I have used "autopay" for the monthly telephone bill. Recently, I noticed that a monthly payment was missed. I called in to inquire. The call center (domestic) explained that Century Link recently had a software update. The software update inadvertently cancelled my (and a lot of other customers') autopay. But since it was their fault, there wouldn't be a late fee. I noticed that I could pay my bill (now two months) with a credit card. I asked if there was a convenience fee to use a credit card to pay the bill. I was told "no". (#1) I had to call into a call center, endure their telephone tree, and be placed on hold to inquire why my bill wasn't paid. (#2) The representative admitted it was the company's fault--but when were they going to reach out to me? (#3) There was a convenience fee on credit card charges. Like a lot of organizations, when things are on automatic, everything's "okay". The minute something goes wrong and needs human intervention; the process to fix things is inconvenient. And while the convenience fee for the credit card charge was low, apparently the call center can give you inaccurate information. I hate to assign this review to a store, because my commentary is related to back-office operations. But where is the regional management office for Century Link? Apparently, that's a really big secret. read more

Longtime CL customer. Requested to upgrade service on 6/19, scheduled an appointment for 6/22. CL rescheduled for 6/24 without contacting me to verify I would be available. No technician called or showed up. Rescheduled for 6/27. Opened a chat with a CL rep at the end of the 8am-5pm appointment window. The chat rep seemed as helpful as they could be, limited by information available to him. Their internet service has been good. 4 stars. Their LOCAL customer service, less than one star. The chat rep, 5 stars. Informative, but limited in what he could do. Bottom line is three failed attempts to upgrade my service means I'm looking for a new provider. read more

Their Wi-Fi services went down. Not just for us but everyone in our area! For over 2 weeks. Every day a message of how many hours till we would be up and running again. Each day a pack of lies. Finally after 2.5 weeks of outage, we get the message we are up and running again. Nope. Now we have an out dated box! A suggestion for Century Link. If you are going to upgrade your system, be prepared to do so and not leave people hanging. Plus, if you know you are upgrading your system, let your customers know and provide them with an upgraded box before shutting them down. Don't treat your customers like s*it. The service is lousy . Too many internet outages in the past and now for approximately 3 wks the TV , my phone ,security cameras and anything on the internet rarely works . This business needs to be shut down and a huge refund given to all who have used their services . We have the fastest internet according to them but , it's constantly down because it doesn't work . HORRIBLE Customer Service. Called for technician to come out due internet connection was 35-40 % down load and up load speed. They mucked it up so bad lost internet connection. I recently moved, which meant switching my service to a new location. Customer service was very polite, and setting up a date for the installation at the new house was easy. There was a two-week wait to have the installation done, which I was not happy about. I was also not happy that there is only 3G service available where I live. Zero stars, if it was possible! This service is out more than it is working! They refuse to upgrade their cable system to fiber so most of the older areas, more than 10 years old, are going to stay out of service. They will actually call you to cancel your service instead of coming to fix your wire. On top of that, they take well over a month to even get close to fixing any issue at all. On top of that, they charge $99 a month for service and maybe you can get it down to around $65 a month, when other companies like Cox charge $16 a month for a line. If I could give zero stars, I would. I canceled my service with CenturyLink over two years ago and switched to another provider. Despite that, they continued charging my bank account without authorization. When I discovered the ongoing charges, I immediately stopped payments and called again to cancel--for the second time. Shockingly, the company later sent me a bill for over $1,300. When I contacted them to dispute it, no one seemed to care or even listen. The lack of accountability and customer service was astounding. I've since encouraged my family, friends, and colleagues to cancel their service with this company, and I will continue to share my experience with anyone considering CenturyLink. The Villages, Florida. Previously had AT&T's cell phone service since 1996. Moved back to the Villages from North Georgia and needed internet, AT&T suggested their AirHub which I received and plugged in. Service was in and out and went out every night at 8:15 and did not return till the next morning. I called Century Link, without looking at reviews, and was sold on the premise that it was directly from my home telephone line and disruption would be a non-event. Made sense to me! The Century Link tech charged me a $149 to plug in the modem. I kept AT&T for a backup just in case Century Link was not as good as they said. That night Century Link went out at 8:15. I thought...what a coincidence. I got out of bed and re-connected to AT&T's internet connection, as I still had it and paying for it as my backup, and found it, too, was also out. I knew this was more than coincidence. The next night the exact same thing occurred where both of them were out at 8:15. as I jockeyed back and forth with both services from 7:45 until 8:15 and found both went out almost simultaneously at 8:15. This did not take a Yale scholar to figure they were on the same wave lengths. The following day. while searching the internet for why this could have happened, I stumbled on a sentence reading: AT&T bought Century Link. So, with that...these fraudulent sonsabitches at Century Link and their New Delhi/Bombay telephone call center hoping you'll hang up because of not understanding these people and only picking out one word out of three and likely answering from some tunnel ....I gave up! My last conversation was that Americans hate East Indians and we Americans would like to see them all deported including their doctors. She was pretty rude in return and not really understanding why? Anyway, I fully intend to dispute the charges with my bank (31 years with the same bank) as I have emails and other paperwork that can be brought forth calling them everything including a democrat and they can take their bill and stick it as I'm not paying. Up to now I have had good service. Now they have hurt my credit ratings because of their technical mistake. I have had auto pay with Century Link for 17 years. I noticed that my payment hadn't come out of my bank account for last month. When I called, dreadful experience to ty to speak to a live rep, I was told they were having technical difficulties and couldn't take my payment. I also found out that they no longer had me enrolled in autopay, after 17 years and therefore my payment wasn't made. I get dinged on my credit report for a late payment over 30 days because of their technical problems. read more

THIS LOCATION IS CLOSED!!! I have been to multiple location and they are all closed and no longer exist. I called customer service and the automated system told me to go to the company's website to find a location near me. I went on the Centurylink's website and it did not tell me any locations in Las Vegas. I call customer service again to ask about any Las Vegas locations and customer service kept asking me why I want to cancel my service. I explained I already cancelled and I just need to return the equipment. She put me on hold and never gave me any store location and I might know why... I read other yelp reviews reporting there are no Centurylink stores in Las Vegas, NV!!! (I have not verified this because I have not visited or called all locations) If you are returning equipment it appears the only way to do that is it mail it to them. Centurylink provides a UPS shipping label for free so you can return your equipment. I hope this review is helpful and saves you time and energy so you aren't driving all over town, dealing with customer service, or searching online. It's very frustrating that multiple websites, like yelp and google, report stores are open when they actually no longer exists. The first rep hung up on me when I asked if there was a survey I could fill out about my experience. Not worth the money we were paying, and overall a bad experience. CenturyLink couldn't get it of their own way. We cancelled our account after two months of trying. They sent us a shipping label so we could return our modem. Nine months later we receive a bill for the full price is the modem that we'd shipped back. Fortunately we'd keep a copy of the UPS receipt that showed the date and destination. They are now working on crediting our account from which they stole the full value of the returned modem. This company is pathetic in their attitudes towards customers. read more

Century Link is probably the worst Internet provider you'll ever dealt First, they have no real persons you van talk to on the phone. You can only CHAT with a service agent long after you have to deal with their "robotic" idiots. in Retrospect, if I had to compare between the robots and service chat agents I would immediately choose the robots. The chats agent, whom you could only chat text with, were, in my opinion, incompeten, nasty, and condescendin. No one could sole the issue and one even implied I was too stupid and asked if they could speak with another household member. Thotally insulting after Over 3 hours on chat they finally said the a service repair person At my home was needed. DAH! I believe I was played with in these chats as these persons do not have to deal with many people if they can jerk around with only one. They also said very clearly that I couldn't speak on phone with a live, real person. They apparently are prohibited from doing this. And they have absolutely no stores in Las Vegas, only service and repair people who , as a last resort, will come to your home. These repair persons were great.They diagnosed the problem almost immediatel, indicating, as I understand, that the issue was a software issue not of my doing. Nightmare company disaster for my new service so bad ....when I login or call or chat its a very long wait and sometimes it was over an hour. Then I could not look up my account by phone number. Then they came by and could not find the house using bad navigation instructions. Then sat on hold for 80 minutes just to cancel.
