Customer service is nonexistent, but with persistence you can get through to a real person as I did. Back when I liked them, my modem was a $10 per month add-on lease. I bought my own recently and wanted to send theirs back, LOL you can't find a way to do it from the website, but after going round and round with the phone bot and from recording to recording, I finally got a hold of a real person. At first she couldn't help me but then I got a hold of the "supervisor" and she gave me the address to send it back to. In fact, it's out for delivery today at a CenturyLink facility in CenturyLink, Kansas on Centurylink Parkway. All true, you can't make this stuff up! Success, you think! Until you realize the address they gave you was closed down by Lumen sometime after the merger :( . Jokes on me!! I'm sure it will find it's way back here soon where I will stick it in a closet for $10 per month! Now they want you to "have to" lease a modem for their service. They didn't used to be this way. I don't understand how it can be legal either. An advertised rate of low rate of $50 per month sounds great but then again after you add the obligatory modem lease it's $65. Not so cheap now! I have never had a worse experience with a service provider. Every month the bill was incorrect and always higher than the promotion quoted. After hours of frustration they would say it would be effective the following month. After endless added fees my final experience was a $200 fee when service was discontinued. Although my original contract had expired they said additional discounts created another contract that was broken. There was never a mention of a new contract when the offers were made. They hide the verbiage in your bill. They also did not bother to let me know it would be an extra $200 on my bill when I called to cancel the service. If you have a choice DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! Terrible Internet service when I had their DSL. Connection constantly dropped, long hold times for tech support, and an overall bad experience. I hear they now offer gigabit in certain areas which may entice me to try them again if it becomes available. Maybe that service is more stable but 2 thumbs down for their DSL. This is by far the WORST customer service I've ever received!!! I've been trying to clear up a billing error they made for two days. I've talked to 10 people and been given 7 numbers to correct the problem with no resolution. Hours of my time wasted on people who don't care about helping you or your business. 1 star is way to good for this company. I was just on hold for about 45 minutes only to find out that I had the wrong department. After being transferred and on hold for another 10 minutes, I was hung up on. This was after being told that the landline phone number that I had with them was not the correct number. I only had that number for 10 years, but what do I know. I have never put anything on Yelp but I have really had it with Century Link. This isn't the first time I have dealt with their crappy customer service. A while back I had called them regarding another situation and they couldn't seem to find me in their system. I gave them every bit of information I could (except the account number because I didn't have my bill with me at the time) I finally asked the dumbass on the other end of the phone how was it that they can't find me in the computer but they can always send a bill out to my house every month? He couldn't answer that one. They are a bunch of idiots over there. read more
