We have used century for 12 years, since we bought our current home and our realtor suggested getting a service maintenance contract with an exterminator since our house backs up to a heavily wooded area. They come out once a quarter and spray outside our home to deter ants, which we have seen inside only on several occasions. When we have seen ant infestation (twice inside our mailbox and once inside our home in an air duct) we have called and a technician was dispatched and thoroughly resolved the issue. On Saturday, 3/18/17, my husband noticed a few very small ants in our kitchen. He made a call and a technician (Brett Seace) came on Monday. He was very thorough and polite and closed both gates after he was finished, a big issue for us as we have a dog and many service people leave one or both gates open. He informed us of what he did and what he found (no active infestation found) and told us what to expect and what to do if we do see further evidence of ants. Our realtor recommended Century 12 years ago and we are still using them and very satisfied and will continue to recommend them. read more

LADIES DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. Michael Lynch came inspected , and tried to used the scare tactic on me and when he didn't get the reaction he was expecting he called my tenant to scare her. When I told him she doesn't need to be quoted because it is I who is paying and am the owner, and after leaving he even told her that I told him that I mentioned to him to not tell her. I just spoke with the owner and he TRIED TO DEFEND HIM , saying she was on the account but if I said I was the homeowner I am the point of contact and Michael left to call her immediately he wanted to scare her to push me to hire them. Michael said it was an infestation I had other companies quote me , and yes there are dropping BUT EVERYBODY ELSE told me minimal , and to bait first to see if there are any live activity. Michael did not say that he told me I needed the attic restoration immediately. Please, please always get other quotes, a mice is a stressful situation but do not this company scare you , do not hire them. If I could leave a zero star review I would. Don't waste your money with this firm. They don't deliver. About a year ago, I was convinced by a salesman of the company that the scratching noises I was hearing in my house were caused by mice roaming around in the walls of the house. I spent over $12,000 and took on a $150 quarterly maintenance plan to get rid of the mice. The company replaced all insulation in my attic and other areas. Also, the company told me they sealed all holes that the mice might use to enter the house. Over the past year, I have complained repeatedly about the mice still roaming around in my house. Most times, an agent would come to the house, look around the outside and place glue traps in areas inside the house. These are amateurish actions I could undertake myself. Recently, I complained by letter to the owner of Century, Mr. Brett Nunn, about my mice problem. Mr. Nunn did not respond to my letter. read more

I have given this business one star because I do not have the option to give it none. We had a contract with this business for 20+ years; every quarter a technician came to spray and fill bait traps for rats and mice (and every quarter we paid our bill). On 25 November 2024, the very day the technician filled the traps, we discovered a MAJOR rat infestation under the house and in the crawl space behind. In fact, one of the holes the rats were using to burrow under the house was right behind one of the bait stations! We have spent $1000 to kill the rats, and we are looking at spending another $10,000 to repair the damage they caused -- replacing insulation in the crawl space, filling holes under the concrete, and closing holes under the house. It is inconceivable to me that a professional pest control company could miss the signs of an obvious rat infestation. read more

Job is not complete. We paid a lot of money ($1800) for Century Termite to address four spots along our roofline where birds had entered the soffit. They were to remove the nest and secure all soffits so they problem would not reoccur. They came out and did the initial job of removing the nests and close the soffit openings. Within a month, two of the soffits had reopened. They came out again and supposedly secured the soffit, but one has opened again within a couple weeks of them being here.they are not fastening the soffits closed. They were to come out a third time and secure it properly. First they called on the day expected and said they couldn't make it. On the make-up day, they didn't show. I have taken off to be here for them. Now they say the soffit is broken. They have never said anything about something being broken before not showing up, The soffit is not broken. They were to secure all soffits initially, but that has not been done. Been waiting for a callback from manager, Brian, but of course, I have not heard from them. The initial crew looked to be on-the-job training, so perhaps they were not the right people to send for this job. I was - emphasis on was - a long time customer of Century. Something changed recently, though, and their service is horrible. 3 separate appointments with no service technician showing up. For the 3rd, the general manager (Brian) assured me I was the 2nd stop. The general manager was as deceitful as the office manager and customer service reps, who also assured me of my appts. So after 3 days and over 14 hours of me having to sit home and wait for the technician that never showed up, the work never got done. I'm now with Orkin, and Century's complacent attitude and horrible management cost them a customer of over 10 years. read more

Would give zero stars if possible. Their customer service is atrocious, maybe the worst I've ever dealt with, up there with Washington Gas. The difference between them and Washington Gas is you can actually get into contact with Century, however they just endlessly pass you off to someone else who is equally disinterested and around and around you go while nothing gets accomplished and absolutely no one takes an ounce of accountability; from sales people to customer service to technicians to service managers, the list goes on. These people are the worst. I cancelled a contract with them for my rental apartment but inspite of that they keep doing treatment and send me a bill . I keep calling them ans say don't so the treatment and don't charge me . But they keep doing it and say I got to pay. The customer care threatens to send it to collection agency which will screw up my credit . I have told them number of time They are money extorts for not sign any contract with them they will not leav ans keep doing treatment and keep billing u . Really appreciate technicians asking if we had any specific pest issues. When I told him we'd caught two mice in laundry room last week, he said he'd look for access points while spraying. The Tech found an unsealed hole in the foundation made by utility intrusions that would provide access to rodents. Thanks for taking the time to ask and show me where the problem is located. I happened to have a can of spray foam sealer and quickly sealed the holes! read more

I had been a customer for two plus years...service was OK, nothing overly exciting about pest control, unless you have an issue. Well...I received the individual invoice for the annual termite program that checks, refills the sentricon system around the home. I was home when this was supposedly completed along with their quarterly service (spray around the house, supposed to remove any outside webs, nest, etc. - cleanup was not done). The technician was here for...maybe ten minutes and then I get the invoice for the sentricon service. Exchange several emails inquiring as to how the termite service was completed in the alloted ten minutes...no calls, no nothing to try to address my concerns. Then get another invoice...same process, no action. On getting the third invoice...call, speak with the same person, requesting that my quarterly service be cancelled and that the invoice be removed. Person states no issue and that a technician will be out in the next few days to remove the termite spikes. When the technician comes out, I inquire about if the sentricon spikes were full, filled, etc....he states he can not do that and is very...cagey about it. Review update - it only gets worse... I didn't think it was possible but the deception runs deep. I had an inspection performed at my home on May 10. I was told the inspection was free, because I had an existing warranty with the company (although they also told me that they do free inspections, so I don't actually know what their warranty covers and initially they told me my warranty was only good for 90 days, which was about 8 months earlier, and i have email from them to prove it - this is an aside, not the main complaint, but signs of deceptive business practices). At the time of service I was handed two work orders totaling $1300. I rec'd a second estimate from another company, and they said that the claims that were made by Century Termite and Pest were not true so I did not sign the work orders that I was initially given. On June 1, I received in the mail an "account statement", which appears very much like an invoice with a date of May 10 on it. The line item for $95 is titled TERMITE WARRANTY INSPECTION, and it says I will be charged a 1.5% fee if the balance is unpaid after 10 days. So it looks like they are invoicing me for what was supposed to be a free service, and they even included a payment envelope. I called the company to tell them I wanted that amount removed from my account balance, and they said, oh, so you don't want to renew your warranty? indicating that the statement was not really an invoice for the inspection but rather an invoice for a warranty renewal. It is incredibly deceptive to try to disguise this optional cost as the balance due for a FREE inspection. DECEPTION ALL AROUND. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. Not only did they not complete the work of removing squirrels from my attic, but they also caused cosmetic damage to my roof and their customer service is terrible. They failed to respond to numerous emails and calls. I paid and signed a contract with a 1-year warranty that didn't follow. They put a trap in the attic and never came back out to check. A squirrel got into my attic. Century sent out a guy right away, who chased the squirrel out and then told me a crew would come in to to install a one-way door in case it happened again, and put up prevention around the interior of the roof. The price was very high. Two rather strange men arrived later, told me that I didn't need the one-way door. Instead they said they put a trap in the attic and would be back in 5 days to check the trap. That was 2 weeks ago and nobody has returned. I also did not receive a receipt. I will be stopping payment on this service. read more

Before reading this review please note I created this Yelp account via my Google account. Therefore, my real name is not displayed. We contacted Century Pest Control in regards to an issue with mites in our residence. Within a week of the phone call an inspector from Century came out and conducted an inspection. Mr. Moe King conducted the inspection of the residence and found that the mites were possibly being brought in by roof rats and found multiple signs of roof rats. Signs such as rub marks, burrow tunnels and a couple of holes in the soffets. He determined we would need two services of fogging the attic and spraying the house along with exclusion to kill the mites and in turn keep the roof rats out. Mr. King wrote up the contract and originally estimated $2,300 to complete all of that work. He then discounted the price since we are renters. The final price came out to be $1,685. It should be noted Mr. King FAILED to put the exclusion service in the contract. A week later Ron a long time technician came out and conducted the first fog and spray service. Ron is a professional and was very courteous with us. He did state that he was not informed of the exclusion service; however, that Century would complete the service if that is what the inspector (Mr. King) said would be done. Ron completed the first fog and spray on August 16th, 2019 and we really do appreciate his work. He stated he would bring out the items required to complete the exclusion service next time. It should be noted that our appointment time was between 2-4 PM. However, our residence was never placed on the itinerary for the day. When we called Century around 430 PM they stated they forgot about us. Two weeks later we contacted Century again to conduct the final fog, spray and exclusion service. Again, we had Ron conduct the services on September 12th. Ron again stated that he didn't have the required items for the exclusion service since it was not on our contract. He stated we would need to call Century and coordinate another date and time for it to be completed. We called Century the next day to coordinate the exclusion service. We set up and appointment for September 14th. This information was misconstrued as another spray, rather than exclusion. Allegedly, the technician arrived around 10 AM and rang the doorbell. However, the appointment was cancelled due to us alledgely not being home. While we were in fact home and sitting in the living room, like 10 feet from our front door. My wife called later that day and asked when the technician would be there. That is when one of the receptionists (Dana or Melinda) informed us of the cancelled appointment. For the past week we have called every 48-72 hours to coordinate the exclusion service. Both receptionists Melinda and Dana stated that it wasn't in our contract. We have since asked to speak to the supervisor. I have left two voicemails for Mr. John Gough about the issue and I am still awaiting his phone call. Each time we have called either he has been out of the office for appointments or in meetings. My voicemails have been simple and professional, asking Mr. Gough to contact me about this contract issues. I patiently await his phone call to get some type of answer and apply feedback where necessary. In summary, I would not recommend Century Pest Control to any colleague, customer or neighbor that is in need of such services. We have clearly been forgotten about. I ask the owner or manager to please email me on Yelp and we can communicate further. read more

If there were an option for 0 stars that would be more fitting. After paying them almost $7,000 they can't seems to complete the work. I have taken off work 4 times to get a dehumidifier installed and 3 times they didn't show up and two times they didn't even call. I keep getting notifications that they have completed service, but yet no one has been to my house. No one will let me speak to anyone in charge and they promise to have someone call me back and they never do. This has been the worst customer experience I have ever had owning a house. I want my money back for work they didn't do and I want to find a company who actually shows up for their appointments. Of course they charged my credit card the same day, but almost a month later they still haven't completed the job. Another week and still waiting for a call! Two more no show appointments. read more

Stay away! Not professional & careless. If you have a problem, the owner of the company does not return calls. My opinion: Their technicians didn't use protective clothing to spray poisons which, to me states, "they don't understand how toxic poisons can affect them so why would they think it's toxic to you, your children or pets". Their technician spilled poison pellets in my driveway and left them there, everywhere. The poisons they used are toxic and they were targeting an infestation of Black Widow spiders. I would suggest you don't even bother. They will have you sign a 1 year contract and ask you make your 1st payment. read more

Century was great on a recent seal up project in my condo. The unit above me has been doing construction for what seemse like an eternity, and that created entry points for rodents in my condo. For a VERY good rate, Century sealed up every thing, moved appliances, and cleaned up after themselves. They did a complimentary bug spray as well. They couldn't move my dishwasher, so they came back on a second visit to seal up behind there after an appliance technician moved the dishwasher. That second visit took considerable coordination, to make sure both technicians arrived at the same time, and they made that process a breeze to set up. I hope I don't need this type of service again, but if I do I'll be happy to call them. read more

WHY OH WHY didn't I check the reviews here first? A complete stranger recommended these people - and had I done one minute's research, I would have NEVER done business with these folks. The salesman, nice as can be, said he could have someone out right away to take care of my mouse problem. Two months later, and 7000 traps with peanut butter around my house, I still have the mouse problem. I asked for a different service person and was told the manager would come - which he did NOT. The same man (also very nice!) kept coming to my house and setting more traps - which we could have done ourselves, and HAD before we ever called this company. I signed a contract for - the salesman assured me - three months service, after which I would owe $85 every 3 months, but I could cancel at ANY time. So when I called today after only two months, I was told that I could NOT cancel, as I'd signed a one-year agreement and would be responsible for all payments - another $400 to keep these guys on board, so that they can do absolutely nothing. DON'T call these people. Pray that they go out of business soon. With salespeople saying one thing and 'service managers' who never show up but charge you for service - WOW. Astoundingly Dishonest!! Similar experience to the outrageous squirrel situation described in a previous review. I caught our termite inspector, hired for a refinance inspection, in about 10 different lies. 1. First, he said we had dead swarmer termites outside our house and gave me a $695 estimate to treat. When I seemed dismayed, he said he could knock the amount down to $425. .. and that he would do me a favor and spray some other bugs in the laundry room for free for the sake of my daughter's health. This was the first thing that made me suspicious as it was such a big discount and the comments about my daughter's health felt manipulative. 2. He checked off "Live termites in the foundation" on the form he was faxing our refinance lender when he'd told me there weren't any. I asked about this and he said it was to my benefit because we need a full treatment and that it was too late and could not be changed. 3. I asked can't they do a more thorough evaluation to determine whether there is actually a current infestation, he said no, there is no such thing you just have to treat. Reading online, I saw that swarmers in small numbers do not necessarily suggest an infestation and that a more thorough inspection is needed to determine whether treatment is needed. 4. MOST SHOCKINGLY: When I called to postpone the treatment in order to get a 2nd opinion, he said he was hurt I wasn't trusting especially after he'd done that favor to protect my baby's health and that "it's too late not to treat because I already sent the forms to your lender and actually i moved your appointment to this afternoon because your lender called and said they couldn't wait" My husband called the lender who said he had never spoken to him nor received any forms. I was so mistrustful I actually canceled my credit card. We hired another company the next day who told us there was NO evidence of any termites, live or dead. He called me around 8:30 and stated he would be there in approximately 30 minutes. He arrived on time, was professional and conducted the inspection quickly yet thoroughly. I was a 17 year customer of Century Termite and for a long time it was a decent relationship. Recently I had my "termite" inspection and it was nothing more than a sales pitch for purchasing a $950 bait station system. The inspector said it was hard to inspect the crawl space because of the encapsulation - that they installed and purposefully installed to allow for inspection. I emailed and requested a refund for the warranty/inspection and was told, in a rude way but the general manager, it would not be provided. I strongly feel I should not have to pay for a sales pitch and they had the obligation to treat under warranty if they felt it needed it, not try to sell me a new system. The service must have decreased after the sale of the company to a multi-national firm. Take your business elsewhere, it is not appreciated anymore. read more

Everything he said that would happen leading up to my schedule appointment did happen. This was a welcome experience especially I was considering leaving this company and going with a different company after previous interactions with previous technicians. We never received a response. Since you have chosen to go into the details of our job on this public forum, then I would like to make sure you have the correct facts. Regarding the specific "bizarre request," the contract signed included sanitizing the attic. Your workers started installing new insulation without sanitizing the attic (as in did not even do it an initial time). From Day 1 of the job, we realized we needed to keep a close eye on the crew as things were not getting done per the signed contract. For example, our basement had supposedly been cleaned and was not. After the crew had informed my husband that the attic was cleaned, my husband went up to the attic and checked and it clearly was not. He asked them to clean it again properly. My husband asked your team if they had sanitized it as well. They said no we don't sanitize the attic because there is no need for that. After they started blowing in insulation, we looked at the contract and it clearly mentioned sanitizing the attic. We asked them to stop and sanitize it first. As they had blown insulation in only one small corner, we told them to leave the insulation as is and sanitize around it as well as the remaining attic. In other words, nothing was taken out and done again. Since this appears to be the only way to get a response, we are still waiting on bait boxes to be put outside our house per our pest control contract. While your team was out here, we mentioned it multiple times and in the past week and a half since they left I have contacted your office/manager 3 times and my husband has tried as well. The initial services didn't do the trick so one of their managers, Mr. Brian Burns, came out a second time and ensured that we were satisfied. I have used Century Termite & Pest Control for several years to control pests and have been satisfied with their service. However, I recently used the vendor do repairs outside my home and the job was very unsatisfactory. I had to have them come back TWICE to correct the poor repair job they did. Just weeks later, I received a notice and pictures from my HOA that the wood in the area they repaired was rotten and still needs painting. I sent the vendor the notice/pictures the HOA sent me and requested the vendor promptly address this problem. They sent someone to examine the problem, but weeks later have refused to respond to my calls, texts and emails regarding remedying this problem. This clearly demonstrates that the vendor's home repair division does not stand behind it's work, does not value its customers or embrace good customer service. Milton T. read more

Century just completed a removal of all of my old insulation, which was full of rodent droppings, etc. They were wonderful - covered everything and removed all of the old insulation as well as my ceiling tiles carefully and safely. The technicians and the inspector were very professional and knowledgable. I felt in great hands with the team. After 3 days of work, my house is finally odor and rodent free!!! The owner even stopped by daily to make sure the project was progressing. Love doing business with a business that treats its customers and employees so well! read more

A star because business with them was going well from 2010-2017. In 2017, I told them that due to health concerns , rather than cancel altogether I want to instead put my account on hold where a tech ONLY comes out if I request the service. I was told my request will be granted and noted on my account. All continued well until someone came out and serviced the exterior of my house in the Spring of 2018 and again in the Summer of 2018 WITHOUT my knowledge or my permission. I paid the first invoice but called and expressed my disapproval and again said that no one is to service unless I call. But still, someone came out in the summer. I don't know if the business has undergone management change this year, but things have only gone downhill in 2018 with this company. I told them I shouldn't have to pay the second invoice, but I was billed again, with additional fees, and threatened with Collections. I have cancelled my service, but still disgusted by management's lack of answering my messages and being thirsty for the next penny instead of looking for ways to resolve and make it work so I can continue being a customer of their's. read more

I have nothing but good words about my experience with Century Termite and Pest Control. Had very pleasant experience with the inspector, Jerome Monk and the technician, Mr. Chris Halderman who performed the termite treatment. Mr. Chris Halderman - wow, he was a wonder - a joy to meet and a true professional, one who takes great pride in his work. Mr. Halderman is extremely polite and very respectful to his customer, always answering questions with yes sir or no sir. I am a retired 30 year Air Force member who always experienced yes sir and no sir. It is exceedingly rare to experience in the civilian world a worker who uses yes sir or no sir as a matter of course. Mr. Halderman professionally treated for termites around my foundation, patched all holes, replaced soil and did an excellent job of cleaning up wherever he treated. I should also add to the list of NO NO NO. Last year we called them and a nice sales person came with an iPad and other jargon. He said they will have the same person come every time for treatment, cared about our requirements etc etc. The first treatment was great - He showed up on time and did what he was supposed to do. After that, things have been downhill. They give you a 2 hour window and nobody shows up, not even a phone call to tell you an expected time of arrival. I have waited for these guys enough that it is worth doing the treatment by yourself or a different company who can do this stuff. read more
