Century Lawn was recommended on another social media site. We just bought a house in Belterra with an amazing yard, but the beds needed some initial clean up. They came out and assessed the job, provided a fair bid, and scheduled the work. The had to push it back one day but they reached out to me a few days before to keep me updated, so great communication. Two workers arrived right on time and started the job. I was a bit nervous when I saw one of them with a hedge trimmer going to town In the beds like Edward Scissorhands, but he did an amazing job and stopped to use other tools when needed. He asked me a few questions throughout the visit and was happy to trim a bit more or differently in spots I asked. They also had pulled the large weeds and sprayed everything too small to pull. They offer a monthly bed maintenance program that I'm going to seriously consider starting this spring. Here are some before and after shots. I notice that there are no recent reviews of this company. I was a long time customer of Century. I was happy for many years with the service they provided. The owners, Kyle and Jenna, were very hands on and really cared about providing great services. Unlike other "mowing services", they provided comprehensive services - helping with lawn care, landscaping and irrigation services. For years my lawn looked great. It appears that the owners have either sold the business or have turned it over to different management. My lawn has suffered. I will likely have to replace the lawn because of the damage that the new management has done. Meanwhile, they have nearly doubled the price they charge. I can say one thing positive about them: they showed up. read more

After years of doing business with Century and providing several recommendations and new clients for Century I called for service to be suspended after providing a photo showing my lawn had gone dormant in November. I was told if I stopped service prior to a December date they would raise my monthly mowing rate in the spring. I found this to be unethical, insisting on mowing a lawn that didn't need it and planning to punish me if I didn't capitulate so I stopped all service. Perhaps another reviewer is correct and the company has been sold? I will say while they do, as another reviewer mentioned, show up every week, they have a very set schedule and have never been accommodating to any changes. I find this posting very sad to create- the women who answer the phone are very nice and not to blame. read more

As new home owners, we aren't used to taking care of a lawn. Mowing is easy but edging, taking care of the flower bed, keeping up with weeds, making sure it looks healthy through all seasons...these were all things I was not prepared for. This is a Fabulous company in every way. I had three rock work projects to be completed and the results of each were extraordinary. They created two rock and mortared pathways (one quite large) as well as installing metal edging and a rock border all around my gardens. The gentlemen who did the rock work were true craftsmen as well as being very respectful and hard working. They even continued working in the rain one of the days they were here! I also appreciated the professionalism of Jenna (the vice-president) and Jonathan (operations manager/landscape designer). They communicated well with me and kept their word. Century landscaped our backyard and we had a problem with one of the large trees they planted. Today, they came out and looked at the tree in question and without hesitation, said they would replace the tree at no charge. once the weather cools off. We've been using Century Lawn & Landscape for about 4 years for our routine lawn maintenance, after they installed our backyard grass sod & irrigation when our house was new. They've always been very easy to work with, scheduling at times convenient for us, prompt & professional, and very efficient & good at what they do. We just used them for a complete irrigation service & they did not disappoint. James is their certified irrigation professional who only does irrigation work. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough in his work, and really cared to make sure everything was operating as it should be. Century Lawn and Landscaping is the best yard care business we have ever hired. We have gone through many large and small lawn care services over the years, and Century is leaps and bounds superior! Super friendly and very responsive to any questions or project estimates. We have hired them for weekly mowing and monthly bush trimming and taking care of weeds in the beds. I feel like everyone at Century cares about us and our yard as if we were family. They do not mow with large equipment, so that there are no gouges from tires or blades. When they mow, they also make sure to mow in different patterns so not to burn lines in the grass. They put a lot of care into making sure that the grass has been evenly mowed, edged perfectly, weeds are removed and the bushes look like they belong at the Queen's garden. We have never had any scalding or burn patches. Our yard has never looked better! They are always on time and communicate whenever there is a weather schedule change. I can't really speak to their actual landscaping skills. After getting one response from them through Yelp I was basically ghosted. A few weeks later they called to tell me we're not in their service area despite being well within the service area mapped on their website. I even double checked with the woman if she had the right zip code, and she told me they basically don't go east of Mopac. I'm guessing it was just too small of a job to want to bother with it. Would have been better to just continue ignoring my yelp message than waste more of my time. read more

I am very pleased with the process, communication and work completed by Kyle and his team. From the modernization of using their website to book an appointment, to the quick walk-through, to the estimate sent via email and my job booking via their website, I found the process smooth, efficient and transparent - and fair - I put 50% down before they started. Once the job was booked, the crew showed up and completed the job as promised (drainage system for my flooding back yard), answering my questions and allowing me to give on-the-spot feedback and directions. As luck would have it, nature did not give us good dirt to work with, so within a week of completion, a good rain showed that some modifications were needed, namely removing more of the natural dirt and filling in with more pea gravel. Without hesitation, Kyle and Chase followed up, scheduled the job, made the repair/adjustment at no charge and we're again excited to see this system work. I'm a very busy guy who has far better things to do than playing phone tag with "my lawn guy" whenever I have an issue come up. I also recently moved to a few acres of land in Driftwood that are not easy to maintain. I chose to work with Century because of the reviews, and I've stuck with them because unlike any other lawn maintenance company I've encountered, they operate like a REAL business. Automated invoicing and billing, communications via e-mail (if you prefer), and dedicated service managers who are responsive whenever an issue comes up. No, they are not going to be as cheap as the single guy with a pickup who mows your cousin's lawn. But they're extremely high quality and well-priced for what they deliver: dependability, efficiency, and responsiveness. Even better, they understand technology, which to me is a big deal. Kyle (the owner and irrigation specialist) was more than happy to install a Rain Machine smart irrigation controller for me. Now I can control my sprinklers from my iPhone, and my irrigation is tied to how much rainfall there is in my area. Your "lawn guy" won't install your smart irrigation gadgets for you. Finding a good landscaping company is as easy as finding a needle in a haystack. We used 3 companies in 2 yrs and were mortified at the incompetence, dishonesty , lack of communication, and refusal to be held accountable as well as the low standards that most landscaping companies aspire to. I then called century lawn and left a message. I received a call back the same day(very rare in this industry) from Jenna who along with her husband Kyle own century lawn and I was impressed with her demeanor and friendliness. I told her my issues and she made an appointment for Kyle to come to my property and talk to me. Let me just say that Within 5 minutes of talking with Kyle I knew I had finally found the right landscaping company. Kyle not only knows the business inside and out but he is extremely personable and accountable. Kyle used to manage the golf course at Spanish Oaks before starting century and thanks to his expertise and standard of excellence I finally have a yard that is more befitting of an oasis. I have been using century for 6 months now and my yard has never looked better and the crews that come out do a thorough job. They mow my lawn beautifully and they actually get rid of the weeds unlike the other landscaping companies. My yard was over run with nutsedge and Kyle told me it would take a couple of months to get rid of it unlike the other landscapers who didn't know the difference between nutsedge and nutmeg and he certainly did. Every time the crew comes to mow my yard looks clean and tidy unlike what you get from most landscapers. Century has the friendly and personal touch and great communication. Your calls and emails are answered in a timely manner and wether it's Jenna answering the phone or one of their lovely receptionists you are always greeted by a warm and friendly voice. Century is run like an old fashioned family business and they always make you feel like you are part of the family. It also comes across that Kyle and Jenna love what they do and that is evident in their demeanors and in how they treat and interact with their customers. Also , you can pay and see all your bills online and unlike most landscaping companies you can choose how often you want your lawn mowed and you will be charged only for the times they come out instead of the scam most companies employ of charging you for a weekly service wether you mow your lawn weekly or not. Century lawn is all about excellence, customer service and making sure you get what you pay for. Kyle is a very honest , hard working and knowledgeable guy and he hires only the best and demands the same excellence and high standards from his employees as he does from himself. Finally, a first-class yard crew that does just what you want, when you want it, and at a price you can afford! We bought a fixer-upper in South Austin for an investment and needed someone to come in and completely redo the xeriscaped yard - trim or remove bad plants, move good ones, clear the weeds, redo the paths and gravel - everything. I called around for three days and talked - or tried to talk - to seven different companies about coming out to take a look. Four never called back, one made an appointment but no-showed, and only one other plus Century actually came out, on schedule. Century provided a very professional estimate for both rejuvenating the lawn and then maintaining it on a monthly basis. After this great start, it gets better. They actually did a fantastic job for the exact price quoted, turning our jungle into a show piece! Then they came out every two weeks and kept it that way. On top of all that, their price was actually lower than the other guy that came out. Dealing with service companies in a city growing as fast as Austin is incredibly frustrating. They're always too busy, too irresponsible, too expensive - except for Century! These folks are just excellent - totally responsive, very fair on prices, and totally reliable for doing great work on schedule. I wish I had more properties in Austin. Century Lawn and Landscape has been exceeding expectations from day one. I emailed them via the contact page on their website and within a couple of hours, Jenna called me to explain their different levels of service. She next emailed me a contract and I was all set up to receive weekly lawn service by the next day. Amazing! We wanted to switch to every-other-week service for leaf cleanup during the winter when the grass doesn't need to be cut. She left it completely up to us to decide when to switch to the new schedule and was always friendly and prompt with communications. On top of the pleasant interaction, the crew does a fantastic job on our lawn. We're always one of the best looking yards on the street. If I could could give zero stars i would. Id' stay away from these guys - wolf in sheep clothing - You think that you get what you pay for but Century was expensive and did a terrible job in fixing our bacy yard drainage issue. They put in a french drain and claim that should solve it - but to our surprise - the flooding continues. Not only that - we had two other companies come and evaluate the space after the fact that Centruy kept claiming that there is no problem- both other companies claim the installation was wrong. It was a good way to throw away money. Don't be fooled by the nice guys act and take your business elsewhere. read more

Kyle comes out and gives the estimates and recommendations for the work we are interested in having done. While Jenna runs the billing and customer service. They are prompt, professional, extremely knowledgeable and very courteous! They have assisted with things such as yard maintenance- which includes mowing, edging, blowing- along with trimming back of bushes and trees. They have also done lawn irrigation work. They assisted in diagnosing a diseased area of the front lawn. This was the first time in 5 years that someone got the diagnosis right and started the treatment to correct. The lawn is starting to look very good as it fills in with healthy grass! Kyle and his team have also helped to re-route water run off, where erosion was occurring in a couple areas of our yard. Century gets five stars for their implementing project management and ultimately helping me turn a creative vision into a reality and also making it look so easy!! I knew what I wanted but was so completely overwhelmed at how to achieve the design for front, side and back yards. They also were able to work with our budget and break it into a 2-3 step process which is helping not only our budget and longer term vision but also helped us get some major work done sooner than expected. Jenna took the lead on helping to break it down into sizable chunks and get us moving from design into action. The turn around time was quicker than expected and they did a complete sprinkler plan and grading and grass, gravel plan in just a couple weeks. I honestly don't know how they did it since we were obviously not their only customers. They thoughtfully went through future design options so that they could plan for future plantings with drip irrigation and so forth. But this was not at the expense of taking action. I mean they will find all the supplies, implement your plan and get the job done! We feel so lucky to have happened upon them as see them as our sprinkler/grass/planting/yard contractors and grass guru when we need it. My neighbors even mentioned how impressed they were with the professionalism of this crew. They swept and used blowers to blow off every speck of dirt and loose gravel every single day that they were here working. If you have time to continuously manage the crew, this is the company for you. We first used Century Lawn and Landscape to do a couple of large projects in our backyard, which included installing trees and granite beds. The crew did a fantastic job so we decided to hire them to do our lawn maintenance. Collectively with the owners, we chose their "Plus Maintenance" package. Our property is a little over an acre so the maintenance was not cheap (hundreds of dollars) but figured it was worth the money to have a professional do it. The package is SPELLED OUT on their website, mow, edge, bed care, shape and trim plants and raking out the granite beds... that they installed by the way. The crew would show up, mow and blow the lawn and then we would get an invoice for the upgraded package! This went on for a while and our invoices were never once adjusted. We would call and send pictures to the owners showing that the work was not done. Kyle would drive by, see the work was not completed, and apologize and the next visit, the same issue. This became tiresome and time consuming. Not worth it. read more

Simply put - they'll cut your lawn as often as you want, no minimum requirement, no upsell, no hassle! Century Lawn cut down a very large dead tree overlooking my patio. The crew did an excellent job of carefully cutting the tree down without damaging surrounding trees or the rock patio. All the debris was cleaned up and run through the shredder. I will definitely use Century's services again. read more

Century is a well run company and the workers do a great job. I like the fact that they send you an invoice the week after your scheduled service, then bill your credit card on file, then email your receipt. The extra services we have requested were bid at a reasonable cost. The regular service is not cheap, but the employees are well trained and our yard has never looked better. After trying various individuals who charged less, I found out that just because someone owns a weed eater or a lawn mower doesn't mean they know how to edge beds properly or cut grass without scalping it, etc. Beautiful landscaping improves a home's value and if well cared for, becomes more beautiful over time. We contacted Century Lawn and Landscape to help us put in 2 flower beds in our front yard and to match stone and brick to our house. Kyle was very knowledgeable and was on time, even early to meet with me. He had some great ideas for drought resistant local flowers and decorative grasses. We also discussed some raised beds in the back yard for a future vegetable garden. The work was completed quickly and done beautifully. We are so pleased, and our yard is so lovely. Shortly after completion of this project my husband injured his back and was unable to care for our lawn. We entrusted Century Lawn and Landscape to the task. They are wonderful, our yard always looks polished and professionally done. The workers are quick and skilled. Our gates are always closed. They are consistent and very reliable. I can call or email with any special add ons or requests and they are always addressed. My husband's back is better but we continue with Century because they do such a great job and their attention to detail is more precise that my husbands. :) We are excited to begin designing "phase 2" with Kyle for our landscaping.
