I have been a Patient of Dr. Chong for many, many years. He has always taken good care of me. However, his Office Staff in Van Nuys has a lot left to be desired. I deal w/Ron at the front desk alot. I called on 12.12.2024 and made an appt. to see Dr. Chong. I was hoping to see him on 12.12 but Ron said they had nothing but if there was a cancellation then they would call me, but he did put me on the schedule for 12.13 at 5:00 p.m. I don't know if they got a cancellation and they didn't call, or their schedule stayed book until closing. On 12.12 after hours I received a call from Kim the Nurse and she said she doesn't know why they put me at that hour and asked if I could come in around 4:30 and she would do my vitals and then I could wait to see the Dr. Unfortunately on 12.13, I wasn't doing fine at all and so at 1:30 I left work and I called Century Medical at 1:35 p.m., to see if I could come over and be seen for I was going down hill. I was waiting for the exchange to answer but they never did, so I called again and I heard the greeting that says their on lunch from 1:00 - 2:00 so I left a message w/the office and told them exactly what was going on and since I can't get a hold of anyone I was cancelling my appt. I should've just showed up at 2:00 to be seen. I called again on Monday 12.16 and I was told the Dr. was off and would return on 12.23. The woman brought up about my appt on the 13th and said I no showed. I told them if they would pick up their messages they would've heard that I left one and told them that I was trying to see them earlier then 4:30. I did cancel the appt. Anyway, I called this morning 12.23 and spoke to Ron and I told him that I really need to get in to see Dr. Chong. All of a sudden he cops an attitude by saying that's what I said on the 13th and I never showed after he fit me in at 5:00 (remember this is the appt that Kim the Nurse had changed because she didn't know why it was even scheduled at that time). I am the Patient and I didn't deserve that, so instead of being understanding or empathetic, Ron basically was down outright rude and that is pathetic. I told him that I did call on that date, and I cancelled the appt., and that I didn't deserve that attitude for being a Medical facility. I do need the Dr. to see me, I told him that I think I have an infection throughout my body, but instead he put me down for a telephone appt. Bottom line the help needs to do their job before they jump down the throat of a patient and get their facts straight. Had the Staff picked up their messages after lunch they would've known that they missed my call. But I did call them to cancel. Century Medical Group Staff, do better and be better. Though we've moved 2 hrs. away, my husband still prefers to keep Dr. Silberstein as his primary care doctor. He appreciates that Dr. Silberstein is understanding, pleasant, and does not attempt to immediately put his patients on medication. This was our third time coming to see Dr. Silberstein at his new location. From the moment you walk in someone acknowledges you. Ron, at the front, is very kind. My husband hates having his blood drawn. However, he expressed feeling comfortable with Diana. She is understanding of his anxiety, patient, and kind. It was a pleasant office experience. read more

I have been Dr Phan for many years. She has always been helpful and takes the time to listen to your concerns. She is great at explaining things and seems to have a pretty good amount of knowledge which I love hearing. Always gets things done and makes sure you get your needs met. She is open, kind and friendly. I don't think you will be disappointed. Go see her. I highly recommend this internist. She is fair to all her patients. Great doctor! read more

Stephen real is an amazing doctor but I haven't been able to get a callback telehealth the front desk is very negelctfulmim having horrible health problems I've been tot eh hospital 6 times in the past two months because I can't get a hold of anyone! read more

I saw Dr. Tim Mess in this office awhile back. Nice doctor, good doctor, but expensive fee for the consultation and my insurance at the time did not cover it. The office environment is depressing and it's in a very old Van Nuys building where they charge $$ for parking, there's nowhere else to park so they've gotcha. The office staff and nurse were just totally unenthusiastic though. I never went back. I needed a consultation right away and that's the only reason why I went there really. Soon after, I found another clinic to go to where my insurance covered 100% of it. Obviously, that's where I kept going. read more

My review is going to touch on a few aspects of Century Medical as a whole. First off, I can call in and depending on the urgency of the appointment be seen as soon as possible or the next available. The front office staff is accommodating and patient. This is important as it sets the tone for the practice. The nurses are courteous and compassionate. They get everything set up for the doctor so she can come in and address whatever I may be in for. Whether I need to go in or if my appointment is via telephone, my physician Dr. Phan has always been 110% thorough. I never feel rushed and no matter how many questions I may have she will answer them completely. When you're in with a physician you expect them to explain everything to you, not just give you the medical jargon and keep going. If you want an all around practice that treats you with dignity then look no further. I've been fortunate to have Dr. Phan and the Century Medical team! read more

This is the most disorganized office I have ever visited and the staff is downright rude. On my first visit I was made to wait an hour and a half before I was seen by anyone. The doctor seemed so rushed and disinterested in seeing me and made it obvious that she just wanted me out of there. There were other people in the waiting room who had the same appointment time for the same doctor as me. I filled out my intake forms online and was made to do them again in person because the receptionist "didn't have them." I had tests done (which were done by a nurse before the doctor even saw me to determine what tests actually needed to be done) and was told I would hear from them within two weeks. A month passed and I heard nothing so I called, waited on hold for a while and was told that "things on the tests are fine, you should try taking vitamins." My symptoms persisted so I saw a specialist who did a second round of tests and found issues which he was able to treat. My biggest problem took place recently. I was unable to get an appointment at the other office I have tried after my first experience with this group, so I decided to bite the bullet and give them another shot. I booked an appointment online and took off the day from work in order to come. I got confirmation emails and texts. The morning of the appointment at 10:30 AM I got a message on my phone from them saying they had cancelled my appointment and rescheduled me for Wednesday. There was no way I was going to be able to take a second day off from work this week. I spent most of the day playing telephone tag trying to find out if I could come in and just get a prescription sometime during the day. I was constantly being told they would call me back by a time, having that time pass and have to call them again myself. I finally got to talk to someone at 4:00, a woman named Christina. She was more rude as anyone has ever been to me in the medical profession, hands down! She kept insisting that I had only ever had an appointment for Wednesday (despite the fact that I had already cancelled that appointment and I never made it myself) and that there "was no way" I could have had an appointment at my original time. She kept seeming annoyed that I was continuing to call back and, you know, seek medical attention from a doctor, god forbid. She said that there "was no way that the doctor was going to write me prescriptions after having only seen me once" and made me sound like I had inappropriate, drug seeking behavior. I was livid and near tears from the way she spoke to me. She was so condescending and disrespectful. I told her that I would not be coming in on Wednesday nor would I ever deal with this office again. I went on the online booking system and saw that I still had an appointment set for Wednesday there, so I also cancelled it there. I have gotten two calls so far today to confirm "my appointment" for Wednesday that I never set and that I have now cancelled three times. This office is a mess, a waste of time, and full of uncaring and disrespectful people. Avoid it at all costs. read more

I called and scheduled an appointment as a new patient to order a blood panel and a physical. I have a significant amount of weight to lose and I wanted to start off correctly. Firstly, Dr.Phan called over 30 minutes late, and secondly, after giving her my height and weight her response was "Wow, you're huge." She showed a complete lack of professionalism and compassion. I ended the call right there and informed her I will be seeking a new primary care provider. I would not recommend her to any new patient, especially those who are seeking help with weight loss. -1000/10 stay far away. read more

My husband and I are new to Century Medical Group. We are super happy with this medical office. Here are some of the pluses: 1) Dr. Rubinson...OMG...the best! For sure he's an older doctor, but he cares so much for your health that there will be no other doctor who does a better job. He's informative, current, proactive, and is on top of everything. He doesn't miss a beat. He has a ton of medical experience and he uses all of it to support your health matters. Dr. Rubinson is the kind of doctor who would call in the evening if necessary to inform you of your test results. The doctors' office prides itself on being available to its patients. 2) Facility is a one-stop medical shop. Xrays, pharmacy, urgent care, hospital next door. You don't need to travel around to have other procedures done, they basically have it all right here. 3) You don't have to wait forever for an appt. This is a real plus because other doctors office make you wait 4-6 weeks. 4) This group has a team of doctors that work together if you have a difficult problem or issue. 5) Parking lot is big and spacious. They will validate your parking and only costs $1. 6) Pharmacy on the first floor. They are super fast too and do a really great job. 7) Real easy to find...on the corner of Vanowen and Sepulveda. You can catch the buses, grab a bite to eat, or fill up with gas. read more

I have been with this office for nearly 30 years. My entire family has been here or continues to be here. Although I have had nothing but the utmost professional care from all the Doctors I have had, I have become very concerned with the level of disorganization of the front office. This afternoon, I called to follow up on the results of my blood test that was done July 10. No one seemed to have the presence of mind to check my chart so I can be given proper and accurate information. In fact, at one time I actually suggested to the one on the phone to get someone who knows what to do to get the information because she kept cross examining me on when I was last there and seemed to be fixated on an earlier visit. Not surprisingly, she put me on hold and NEVER returned. My second call was sent to billing. How billing got in I don't know. My third call left me so bewildered that I decided to ask for my records to be sent to another doctor. This seems to have made the one I was speaking to very happy. She was more than glad to let me know what to do to get the records transferred. I must add, that several times, I have called for refills of my medication from my residence overseas and had equally horrible experience. I miss the days when CMG had some of the best trained RNs and a highly efficient front office, to match their quality of doctors. read more

I had good health insurance and this medical center is on my provider list, so I booked an appointment and went. I was there for a physical exam and my appointment was at 11:00 am. I went there as told to be 15 minutes earlier to fill out the form. So, I got there at 10:45 am. After I filled up the forms, I waited and waited. But I didn't get to see the doctor until 1:00 pm!!!! A total of two hours waiting! The doctor then apologized saying that the patient before me complained about heart problems. I was like. OK, fine. Then after I only spent less than ten minutes with the doctor, I was done. I was told to come back for a blood test because I didn't fast before I came this morning. I was told to come back the coming Friday, but I had to work on Friday. So I came back the following Tuesday morning. I told the front desk I would wait and I only needed to get my blood drawn by a nurse. But the nurse kept me waiting and waiting for two hours and still didn't want to draw my blood. After I complained, she said there were other patients and she needed to take care of patients with appointments first. BUT, I had an appointment for my first visit but I was made to wait for two hour! Why can't she draw my blood after I have been waiting for two hours!? Why is she all of a sudden feels sorry for today's patients?! I ended up going home without getting blood drawn. Then I showed up on Friday morning. That was my third visit, then the nurse finally drew the blood. Now, finally, the results came. The doctor called my at 5:17 pm Friday. I didn't know it was from the doctor because I was driving and I didn't expect a phone call at that time would be important. After I heard the message, the doctor asked me to call back for my test results. I called immediately back but the answering service said no one was at the office and I had to call Monday. I then called Monday four times and left messages four times. The front dest said the doctor would call back. BUT SHE DIDN'T! Then I called three times Tuesday and left messages, and was told the doctor would call back! BUT SHE STILL DIDN'T!! So my entire experience with that medical group is just a big nightmare! That entire office is just a big joke! NO ONE IS ACTUALLY DOING ANYTHING RIGHT AND EVERYTHING IS WRONG THERE! If you planed to go there, please think twice because I had to suffer so much and still didn't get to know my test results! read more
