Extremely frustrating experience. Communication was unclear from the start and we kept being told different things. What should have been a straightforward MRI appointment turned into weeks of confusions and unnecessary delays. When patients are already dealing with medical anxiety, the last thing they need is poor coordination. I have to give 1 star to write this review other wise they deserve NO stars!! I was scheduled to go in for lower back and also my right knee MRI, I had told them on numerous occasions when they talked to me that I was claustrophobic and hoped to have both MRIs done at same time! They could not accommodate me so I was scheduled today for my lower back and next week for my knee. I went in half hour early to sit and calm myself and waited, I was told they could take me in early while waiting I heard someone who seem to either be a technician or a Dr talking as if was teaching English language then in the midst of his conversation, he yelled "oh shit" then laughed and said to whoever he was talking to "did i say shit loud ?" and kept laughing, I don't know who that was but def not a professional surroundings!! After 40 min I went in, a young man told me where to put my stuff and to follow him! He had me lay down, gave me ear plugs and once I went in the tube I thought I was having heart attack! I pressed the button and even hit on side of the tube to get me out! Everything is blurr because I could not breathe, I felt like fish out of water, and between the ear plugs and mask, seriously how are u suppose to breathe while wearing a mask inside that tunnel?!! I just took the ear plugs and mask off, started crying and was having hard time breathing! The young man just stood there and watched me then asked me have I had MRI before and I said no, he said oh that explains it!, as he walked me outside he said he would ask to hav me scheduled for open MRI and that I could get my stuff pointing to the cabinet where my belongings were kept, I kept apologizing and now Im even more angry cuz they should have been apologizing to me for putting me through that!!! He also said you be surprised more people have same experience as u! Are you kidding me and do they treat all w same compassion and care?! I asked for tissue cuz i was still crying and he not once asked "are u okay", "can i get u anything?" I then ask if i could hav some water and he said yea follow me its on ur way out!! Whaat?! He couldn't even say "hav a sit i get u some water!!" I left w water at hand and was walking the parking lot to calm myself down, The same technician walked passed me, got in his car and left, absolutely did not ask nor cared to know if i was okay! I am appalled by lack of compassion and care at this facility. Later i received a call from main office how they could get me in Burbank office for both knee and back for an open MRI on a Sat! Now my questions are: 1- I work and I REPEATEDLY asked if i can hav Sat schedule and answer was no they don't work on Saturdays! The call comes from one main location who schedules for all their different locations, how could they not schedule me for a Sat?! 2- I told them REPEATEDLY how im claustrophobic and would like both MRIs done on same day! I was told that was not possible cuz it needed longer time slot and since I could only do late afternoon then had to be done in 2 days, again had they scheduled me on a Sat, the problem would hav not existed! I told the young lady how my daughter had MRI done at another facility and they made it possible for her to have relaxant, I told her maybe she needs to let someone know about it and her reply was "oh okay I make a note in your file" I don't know who the people are who wrote the great 5 star reviews about the amazing, caring treatment they received?! For me, if you are reading this and have any anxiety about being in closed places!! DO NOT schedule at this location!! I pray w ALL my heart the Burbank office to have kinder people, so I can put this horrible experience behind!! read more

Easy and fast to make an appointment and very open MRI machine so you don't need to worry about being claustrophobic.

Quick, easy, clean and affordable. I just wish when I asked to clarify a part of the image I had a question for they responded to that, but overall, the job needed was done. Walked out with a disc that you can read on your own computer and get results the next day. read more

I called this facility this morning January 13th because I had to get an MRI with and without contrast and a CT with contrast. During the call I lost my connection so I had to move to speakerphone because I miss what the woman was saying. So I asked her again what was it that you said and she got very snippy with me saying very kind of a little bit louder than normal I said we don't do services with contrast I said okay thank you she hung up no you're welcome no nothing. Very unprofessional very rude think again about coming to this facility if they're that rude in a professional with patients. I'm super claustrophobic and I had so much anxiety knowing I had to get an mri. The girls in the front are friendly. I waited maybe 5-10 min to be taken to the back. KEVIN IS GODSENT!!! He made me feel so comfortable. He explained exactly what he was going to do and how the mri worked, which gave me a sense of calm. I asked him if he could keep me company or check on me while I was in my mri. He sat in and talked to me the whole time. I completely forget I was even in there. The time went by fast. He made my experience so good. I can't thank him enough! If you have anxiety or are claustrophobic, you can bring a friend to sit next to you while you're doing your mri. Great experience. I was nervous and was made to feel at ease. From calling to make an appointment, to the MRI everyone there was responsive, helpful, and had great bedside manners. The whole staff was super nice and helpful and the machine wasn't as scary as I thought, and the noise wasn't that bad either. The actual MRI part of my husband's experience at Encino Open MRI was good. I'm writing and giving them only 3 stars because of the way they handled the following: my husband had an appointment with an orthopedic specialist, who requested that he bring a copy of the MRI to his appointment. So my husband paid Encino Open MRI the $25 that they charge for burning a copy of the CD. But they messed up and gave my husband a blank CD. Not knowing that it was blank, he brought the CD to the appointment, only to learn that it was blank and therefore the doctor did not have all the information he had requested in order to diagnose his issue. A few days later, my husband went to Encino Open MRI and explained what had happened, that he had waited weeks for the appointment and had driven a long distance for it, and that he was frustrated that because of their mistake, the doctor did not have all the information he wanted. My husband asked them, as a courtesy, to refund the $25 they had charged. The receptionist said she would speak to the "boss" and call back, but she didn't call back. Over a week later, he called to remind them of the issue; they said they would speak to their supervisor and call back, but they didn't. Lesson: make sure they don't give you a blank CD when its supposed to have an image of your MRI! read more

I was feeling some anxiety but Keven, the MRI technician, calmed me down superbly, checked on me a few times, and got things done before I knew it. Sadly, they canceled my appointment, after I waited weeks (in pain) and refused to offer me another appointment in a timely manner. They were dismissive on the phone too. They offered me to speak with the owner, Bobby, and he never responded. I will now need to reschedule my orthopedist, who took 3 weeks to get an appointment with, and either find a new open mri or deal with this company who don't care at all about a new patient. read more

They don't even deserve one star they did 3 MRIs - I only needed two one of them was not needed so I had to go for a third one -the correct one. Kimberly office staff was extremely rude. said it was the wrong number of my doctor that I gave them. - didn't tell me until I was ready to walk out of the office. She knew it was a stat and I needed it for Monday morning . Again office staff was very rude - when I tried to call back, Kimberly hung up on me 5 times. Kimberly at the front desk is what made my experience so horrible. The owner did call me today and was very nice and apologetic....... It's the staff he has there. Procedure to get my right knee scanned was very thorough and smooth. The technician helped me stay calm and relaxed as this was my first MRI I've been through. Great fun. If I were going to be an MRI, I would be Encino MRI. There are magnets, there are noises, and you gotta be still, but if you're still, the gizmo will spit out some images that are created with what the kids are calling Magnetic Resonance.
