Nice atmosphere. Service was fantastic! Tiff was so great working with us even when it started picking up she didn't skip a beat. We ordered the French onion soup and it was very good!(A little more pepper than I would do but overall great!) Then we ordered the Japanese Steakhouse Shrimp appetizer and it was phenomenal as well. Perfectly large sized shrimp cooked and drizzled to perfection and an oh so lightly breaded crunch to it with a fine hint of a hot sauce (but not a lot because I do not like hot stuff). On to our entree, we went on a Tuesday night and the special was the Tomahawk steak (medium rare) with two wedge salads and steak fries with Au jus sauce in a cup. DIP IT! Worth it! The bar is separate yet welcoming with a sense of being back in the 50's and the dining rooms can perfectly accommodate large parties or an intimate dinner. The service was friendly and fast and the floor manager was attentive to every need which were very few. The food: I had the prime rib special and it was a delight from the very first bite. It needed no additional seasoning or even salt! From the first tender bite the marinated juices mingled with the full flavor of the scrumptious beef. This place is one of the most unprofessional establishments I have ever been to. I have never been more angry with the service I have gotten that I made a yelp account, just for this review. My family came into town for just one night and we all wanted to have a nice dinner together. My mom booked us a reservation at the Manor, no problem. Once we got there, no one had any clue that we had a reservation, despite my mother's phone call with them from hours before. We finally sit down, at a table much too small for the amount of people. Our waitress does not even introduce herself to us, has not tasted anything on the menu to give us her personal opinion, and does not return back to our table to take our DRINK orders for another 15 minutes. Keep in mind, this place was not busy during the time we were dining & everything from this point on only gets worse. Our waitress didn't take our order for over 40 minutes. Our food took almost TWO HOURS to come out as we watched a family next to us get to the restaurant after us and finish their meals before we had even gotten ours. When we got our meals finally three of the steaks were not cooked correctly, one meal was cold and one was completely forgotten about. Hardly any of us even touched our food once we got it because it was not good. Throughout this whole experience, my father was talking to who our waitress told him was the manager about the evening. The man was chatting it up with my dad saying it will all be made up for on the bill. When the bill comes out it was over $400. For awful food, service and time well spent. My dad went to talk to the manager from before about the bill and a few sentences into their conversation this person claims they are not the manager of the place and cannot do anything about. My family and I literally thought we were being pranked. Long story short, we never got much taken off the final bill (that my dad ended up paying in cash with because he did not want that disgrace of a restaurant to have his card number), but that place will NEVER get a penny of me, my family or friend's money EVER again. read more

I left Bona's in 07 and i still periodically think about the steaks and french onion soup at the Century Manor. I've never had a steak quite like theirs ever in my life. The atmosphere is like sitting in someone's beautiful dining room with only a few tables in the front and a couple in back. The decor is classic and simple, and the food is sophisticated and absolutely delicious. The owner cooks your steak for you and there is an attention to detail that would rival any great steakhouse you'd find in a major city. Can't wait for my class reunion to get my fill of the Manor again. read more

Stayed in the Queen bedroom suite for one night, located just above the restaurant kitchen. Very happy to have found this place on Yelp while making a cross county road trip, tired and ready to stop for the night. This is actually a full one bedroom apartment with TV room as well as a full kitchen! Quiet, comfortable and clean. Plenty of towels. Easy parking out the back door. Just a few miles from the expressway. Check-in at the restaurant bar downstairs. Thumbs up! Especially considering there doesn't seem to be much in the way of overnight lodging in the area. read more

My husband and I went here last Saturday. The piano player was a nice touch. The restaurant is very charming. We both commented on how it would be a nice place to take someone on a first date. He had the prime rib and I had the veal saltimbocca. He really enjoyed his and I thought mine was spectacular. The veal was served atop a cauliflower gratin, which is an unusual side for the restaurants in the area. I can't say enough about it. Also, I cannot remember the name of our waitress, but she was excellent as well. read more

Steakhouse with a varied menu although not as extensive as what you might find at restaurants in metropolitan areas. Good food and atmosphere make this place four stars. Staff have done a good job when I've been there and I've not been disappointed. Bar is a bit limited as to what they offer. The place itself has a lot of character and can make for interesting conversation. Steaks are the high point on the menu and the prime rib served on weekends is worth a try. read more

After being away from the area for over 5 years we returned to the Olean area. while dinning here we noticed that the place was not as clean as i once remembered. The food was not very tasty and we left a little disappointed in the veal. I discovered that this was due to it being PORK instead of Veal... ???? Later an opportunity arose and My son,Charlie an Australian trained chef, brought his expertise to the distressed Century Manor Grill House . Under the new owners he felt it could be turned around. After 4 weeks of trying to clean up the kitchen and the staff, Charlie was fired. His heart was in the change as it could only go upward.. however It is clear that it will remain a microwave palace of food. Food bought ...from Tops, Food Barn and Aldi. Just left this place it's obvious it is in financial trouble. The empty ice maker missing the lid spoke loudly as well as an almost empty dining room on Saturday night at 7:00 pm.We were looking forward to it until we got there went to the bar for pre dinner drinks. Bartender was doing double duty waiting tables; service was poor how do you run out of ice in a restaurant that charges $37.00 for a NY strip. We left lost our appetite after the short exposure. After reading the other reviews they must be part owners. I'm use to paying top price for exceptional meals, this place reeks of the need for a real quality eatery not a faux front given the economy I would guess that there riding there past success with no clue about keeping in touch with the times. Save your time and money, Beef and Barrel is just down the road. In it's day it may have been worth the money but as of now it's way way over priced. read more

We had our Thanksgiving dinner at this restaurant. The food was tasteless and some not even edible. We clearly received calamari that was spoiled by the smell of it. After tasting it, we asked the server to remove it because is was spoiled and yet was still charged for it. Most of the people would not eat their dinners afterwards and we asked for them to be packaged up and proceeded to dump them in the garbage on the way out. Luckily, we had a turkey at home that we were able to eat afterwards. This was very disappointing as we have gone to the restaurant for years with having great food. We will not return again. I did not say anything that day as my children did not want to be embarrassed and I also heard that the owner is not very approachable. I can only tell of my experience to others and hope that they make a different choice of venue. read more
