We called a flooring place that we've used before and were pleased with. But I decided to Yelp it for a second estimate, and found Floor IT. I was so impressed with the reviews, I knew this is where I was getting my second estimate. We visited the store, picked out some samples, and scheduled our estimate. We felt pretty good about the store and the guy we worked with. Mr. M stays home from work in the morning to wait. The estimate guy never shows up. Never calls. (This is the minus 1 star part.) We're livid. Under any other circumstances, we would scratch this company off our list immediately and irrevocably. But those Yelp reviews. We've read through them and really believe that this is a good company. There must be some explanation. We decide to give them another chance, feeling more than a little foolish for doing so. Like taking back a boyfriend who stood you up for an important dinner party with your boss. But he's so promising otherwise... I finally reach Steve, the owner. He doesn't make excuses, but does apologize. And convinces me that in spite of the screw up, they do have the right attitude, skills and ethics. I schedule the estimate and was impressed that Steve asked so many more detail oriented questions than the other flooring company. We get the estimate. It's much more detailed than my other estimate. Also it's 42% of the other estimate! That's some serious savings. We schedule the installation. Everything was roses from there. Steve and the installation sub-contractors arrived on time. They discussed more details with us, and accommodated all of our requests. Three workers got it done all in one long day, and cleaned up nicely after themselves. I'm happily enjoying our new floors. And our large savings. I believe in second chances. And in Yelp.

I just replaced all the carpet in my house with Floor It. Steve, the owner, was very friendly and…read morehelpful. On the day the installers were scheduled, I came home before they were done. I noticed my $2000 vacuum was sitting out and they had used it, our new interior paint job had nicks and scratches all over the place (a few here and there are understandable, but we found them in every single room all along the bottoms of the walls), and they had leaned our leather couch on it's side, against the leg of our dining room table which was also on its side. Well I had to leave, so I called Steve to let him know I wasn't very happy with all this. He said he was very surprised, and would contact the installers. I get home later that night after midnight. Here is what I see on top of what I already saw earlier - - Dining room table leg is broken and on the floor. No one notified us that it was broken. Just had to come home and find it. - Small spots of blood on the trim at the stairs. - Electrical outlet hanging off the wall, detached. - Scratches on my bedroom furniture from when they moved them. Well I was pretty furious. Steve ended up paying for touch-ups on the paint, and for the dining table to get fixed, but it was all so inconvenient, time-consuming, and stressful. And he was only able to take off $100 from our remaining balance, because he already had to pay for the other stuff. In the end, the carpet is in, and everything got fixed, which is why I rated them 2 stars. I just don't want other people to go with this place thinking they are perfect, because of all the 5 stars they got. Steve is very accommodating, but he is not the one installing. I wish he was more careful in choosing who he hired.

The new carpet looks poor and does not meet my expectations. The material appears to be of very low quality and cheap. While the sample I was shown was a solid, uniform color, the installed carpet has dark spots throughout, which look like water stains or marks from dirty shoes. This gives the carpet a dirty appearance even though it is clean. Additionally, every footprint leaves a visible mark that remains for a very long time. Everyone who has seen the carpet agrees that it looks bad. I expected much higher quality materials for this installation. I also specifically asked the sales person/company owner for the carpet certificate or specifications when viewing the samples, but he informed me that he did not have any. I also asked him for Low-VOC carpet (since I have chemical sensitivity) but this salesperson did not even know what VOC is. I was not even provided with the name of the manufacturer. This carpet has significant chemical off-gassing, which is causing me difficulty breathing. Even my old carpet was of much higher quality than this one. Additionally, when the carpet installer arrived, he came alone and informed me that my apartment was listed as "vacant" on his work order and that he was unable to move any furniture. This was despite the fact that I had specifically requested assistance with moving furniture through the apartment management, and the company had assured them that two workers would be sent to handle the job. This error caused a significant delay, wasted a considerable amount of my time, and forced the installation to be postponed.

While he called me and asked me what I was looking for, the other businesses asked me to come in to their show room to take a look at their carpet options. He brought a few samples when he came to the house to measure the rooms. His prices are competitive. I had other estimates to compare to. The carpet was installed as scheduled with 2 other guys. They did a great job - rooms look great! I'd hire Paul again. He's trust worthy and the carpet looks awesome!

The price is quite affordable too. My condo is 1200sqft. It took the crew 3 days to finish the work. A lot of time was spent on getting rid of the old tiles otherwise it would have faster. And this is when we still live inside - the workers have to move our furniture around everyday. So very impressed with the speed. I also love the materials. Good quality and color. Looks fantastic! First off, I should mention that we were in contact with Cal Bay Marbles after they reached out to us selling their tile work services. We agreed to use them for a job and shared the information and schedule with them... on the day of the job, Mission Flooring shows up on behalf of Cal Bay Marble. This was never communicated or explained to us. We were forced to use this company given the timing and need to complete this job on time. Here is how the next few weeks went with Mission Flooring: 1). Awful communication throughout the project. He would set a time and miss that time not only by multiple hours, but sometimes by days. 2). Incapable of performing his simple job and broke material costing us extra expenses on jobs 3). Left the job and abandoned it, leaving us with unfinished work and unhappy customers. He claimed his work was finished, and upon checking his work... it was done terribly. He agreed that he would come fix it and set yet another date... and then cut off 100% communication and never came back to finish his work. This has left us with yet another headache, and more money being spent on his subpar work. The image provided here was sent directly to him and he agreed it was not done properly and agreed to come back and fix this. Mind you, this was after he had already cracked one entire slab and had to come back again to replace that one. George stopped all communication at that point and never came back to finish his work. I would avoid using this company at all costs. They were referred to us by Cal Bay Marbles who also BLOCKED us on all communications after we asked them to take some accountability on referring such a terrible subcontractor.

I knew this wasn't true because I had spoken to San Leandro Door prior about the same exact Simpson Doors which included the features I wanted.
