I booked a service call for my dryer since it stopped working while in the middle of the drying cycle. After the inspection, the technician told me the problem was either the timer or the star switch, with repair quotes of $452 and $703 respectively. During the inspection, I specifically asked whether the thermal fuse could be the issue. The technician told me it was checked and it was working fine. Because the repair estimate seemed very high, I decided to get a second opinion and I am glad I did. The second technician diagnosed the problem correctly: the dryer needed a new pulley and a thermal fuse. The replacement parts cost me less then $100, and the dryer worked perfectly after they were replaced. I am glad I didn't go for the unnecessary expensive repair which could not resolve the issue. I do not recommend anyone to use this company based on my experience. I suggest getting a second opinion before proceeding.

Small shop but packed to the brim with both of the brands we wanted to see. John was super friendly and knowledgeable and gave a full explanation of each of the machine models we had targeted (C3 and E3). Absolutely zero pressure or upsell vibes. We decided to go with the Miele and were able to get the additional attachments, and bags/filter packs we wanted as well (everything was in stock). Opened the vacuum's box in the store and verified everything was functional before we left. The miele vacuum is a dream and so much better than the old Dyson - by far! We couldn't be more pleased with it. I feel confident that we got good value for the money and if there are any issues this shop will be able to address them easily. I like knowing that we can bring it in and they will take care of it on site instead of sending it away. Long story short: great service, excellent product knowledge, zero sales pressure, great selection of models/accessories and technically capable of complete repairs on site if ever necessary. PRODUCT/SERVICE They sell/support a variety of brands and equipment and it changes slightly over the years (since we started seeing them in 2004); our experience is with two CycloVac central vacuum systems which they certain sell and support. Whether it's to purchase a new system, purchase accessories, or get support, we have experienced their fair / good prices and excellent customer service. In fact, they could offer a masterclass in customer service - it starts with the father and the two sons - whether they were coming to our home to estimate/propose the best system, to installing such, troubleshooting things, recommending the best options - they are always putting the customer first, even for things they could not sell to us. ENVIRONMENT The small showroom is packed with various vacuum equipment, so that limits the number of people inside (even pre-pandemic) but maximizes the team's ability to show you different products. I called the first place and their voicemail picked up, so I called this place and asked if they had what I needed (specified by model/serial number of my vacuum). Answer: Yes, they had it in stock, gave me the part number, and the price would be $150 (and change) after taxes. I drove up and as I was parking, it occurred to me that I'd been to a vacuum store in the same block years ago, but on the other side of the street, and I remembered the badness described in my original review on here. So I go in the store and ask "Did you used to be across the street?" Answer: Yes. OK, well, it's been a bunch of years, maybe it's new ownership, or maybe their behaviour that day long ago was an anomaly; let's see how things go this time. They go get the part (confirmed same part number they cited over the phone), and ring it up: over $180. I say, "Oh! What happened to $150 you quoted me on the phone an hour ago?" Guy goes, "I'll fix the price" and goes typing on his keyboard, then comes back with "So that's $168 after tax". I did not have time, patience, or willingness to get in an argument. I probably should have just said "Thanks, never mind" and walked out (I probably should have been more patient with that first listing where I got routed to voicemail), but I did need the part, and I was there, so I just figured "whatever" and paid it and got the errand done. Not worth fighting crosstown traffic to get to the other place for $18. Come on. Quote the real price over the phone, don't play these bait-and-switch games.
