This Appliance Repair company would not even get one star from me if I had any way of giving them a big ZERO.
About 4 or 5 years ago, we had a massive problem with our Miele clothes washer, one that turned out to be a RECALL issue more than a warranty issue. The very helpful repair person (yes, from Priority, but read on... I think they fired him) discovered that the whole spinner tub (the largest piece of metal in the machine) had quite literally turned to powder. At the end of the day Miele agreed to replace same and to pay Priority for having done the work. In the interim there was a battle... the facts are that I agreed to pay Priority if Miele would not cover the costs because I didn't want them to be out of pocket. I needed them to wait a few weeks while I did battle with Miele. They tell the story differently now, after the fact, but that is the reality and it is very generous of me since it was Miele who sent Priority to us and so if there is a money issue, Priority should be going to Miele, not harassing me. I did consumer battle with Miele and I was at it every day for hours, until they finally agreed to pay. They (Miele) were claiming that it was 'out of warranty' and it was, JUST out of warranty by a few months.... but this was more of a RECALL issue... it was dangerous. A top of the line MIELE appliance, supposedly made in Germany, using quality GERMAN metal, should not have its main piece turn to powder in a few years. In fact, at the end of the day, Miele seems to be in same league as Volkswagen with catalytic converter issue. Perhaps they were worried that there were going to be another 60 machines being returned as our entire building has the same machines.
We are not hard users of the machine. I use 1 tablespoon of high efficiency laundry soap per load, and I clean the machine regularly etc. The other issue is that if a machine like this floods, in a highrise like ours, it can flood at least 9 or 10 suites below us and several on the same floor, costing hundreds of thousands of dollars and putting people out of their homes for months on end.... I know as I have been flooded out from above.. it is a nightmare that never seems to end. In this case, we wonder if the developer may have done a deal with Miele or perhaps one of their suppliers, on a bunch of lemons that look good but are sh _ _ . I don't know but after sorting things out I did caution others, to the extent that we are able to communicate with neighbours in our building which is a bit like Fort Knox.
Priority Appliances we think fired the repairman that gave me the heads up... showing their level of ethics. They carefully announce that "XXX is no longer doing repairs for us" (not sure I can mention his name but if anyone knows who I am talking about please tell him to be in touch. We think he is fabulous! Priority came several times after that for different appliance repairs (we have all Miele appliances in this condo) but unfortunately, every time I call, their dispatcher is rude and tells me they won't deal with me. Somewhere I have a letter from them apologizing to me and acknowledging the issue was an error on their part... eg. their refusal to come here after the first instance. They have in fact come several times for several repair jobs and they have been paid on the spot. Still, they are rude to me each time and today was the final straw, so I told them they are history in my books. The problem is that leaves me dealing with Miele directly and it takes them 2 weeks or more to send a tech/repair person & the ONLY people Miele use other than their own techs is Priority Appliances. I agree with the several others below who have rated Priority poorly. They are horrific when it comes to customer service; and outrageously expensive and they are clearly not good to their employees and they are rude to their customers. I would like to track down the employee they fired as he was great, really knew his stuff. The only way around the Miele monopoly, and the Priority Appliance oppression and monopoly, is to diagnose the problem as best you can yourself, buy the parts needed from Miele (they are not allowed to refuse an owner but can refuse appliance repair companies which is why there is only ONE company in the lower mainland customers can call directly for repairs)... and then find a repair person who will come once they know you have the needed parts. You can return any parts you Others can do the repairs, but cannot buy the parts... oppressive! I won't be buying Miele ever. We have had many problems with our gas stovetop by Miele; our Miele clothes washer and dishwasher, and our Miele vacuum is the worst example of a vacuum I have ever encountered. Our repair place on the west side, is great... we have dealt with them for many decades & they say it basically should be against the law for Miele to make vacuums. I agree. I will say that Miele makes good wall ovens, that's it. read more
