Came home from vacation to a freezer that worked, but not the fridge. Called Zack at 9am the next morning and he fit us into the end of his day. After checking out our ancient GE fridge (over 20 yrs old - parts no longer made), he managed to jury rig the cooling fan so that we could at least have the fridge working for a bit longer (until we can get a new fridge). We were extremely impressed that he followed up with a phone call the next day to confirm that the temporary fix was still holding. Hired on March 31st 2022 for a washing machine repair...didn't know what I actually needed as it wouldn't drain properly. Pros: On time: I called Zachary on a Thursday early evening and he came the next day between 1-3pm on time. Price: Very reasonable. Paid about $177 for the washer to be opened up...had to trouble-shoot it with it draining; he tried a few options. Turned out there were two socks stuck in the drum. Glad it wasn't a burnt motor. Dishwasher had been leaking, so I wrote in here to ask for a quote. While it isn't possible to get a range without having someone actually look at the machine, they'll waive the inspection fee if you decide to get a repair afterwards, which is nice! The technician called ahead to ask if arriving a little early was okay, which it was, and quickly diagnosed the problem. He went out straight away to fetch a replacement part, and once he was back he completed the repairs promptly, and he had friendly and professional manners and good advice throughout! And the price felt quite reasonable considering the time that went into it. I would happily ask here again next time I need appliance repair; apparently they also source replacement appliances and handle associated installation and disposal as well, which is an intriguing offer. Unfortunately, the cost of parts and labour to repair the washer was not going to be worth it. Zachary was able to get us a new machine that would work with our stackable drier and install it within a few days. Wearing mask, glasses and gloves to protect me and my home, he determined my dishwasher's thermal fuse had blown. It's an old appliance, so we discussed all the possible next steps. We thought he was good the first time years ago, but this time around he seemed rude, argumentative, incompetent and deceitful. We first called Zach back in 2015 or 2016 when our old dishwasher died. After taking it apart, he told us it would be more expensive to fix than replace, so we bought a new one through his company and he installed it. Recently (2019) the new one stopped working (we'd barely pulled the front plastic off). We called Zach again, hoping he could fix the unit he'd installed. First, he was late. Very late. He didn't even communicate that he would be late until after he was already half an hour late, and was another 45 minutes late beyond the revised ETA he gave me. When he finally arrived, he complained that our dishwasher was old and poor quality, and that it would probably cost more to fix than replace making me wonder if that was his ploy everytime he encountered a dishwasher. When I pointed out that it was himself who had recommended, sold us and installed this model only a few years earlier, he became annoyed and initially denied that he'd done it. A moment later, he he started cursing about how it was installed and claimed that some do-it-yourselfer had re-installed it and ruined the alignment; the whole unit rocked forward and there weren't any bolts holding it in place. He fumed that we must have re-tiled and ruined everything (but our tile is visibly aged, cracked and in place long before the dishwasher was installed). So I echoed his discontent, and pointed out that he was entirely responsible for installing it so badly, was the last person to have touched it, and that we had learned how to not rock it forward when we used it because that's the way he'd left it and we'd trusted him to know what he was doing. And I told him I was unimpressed with his service so far. He refused to believe me and argued for a bit longer, saying he never did shabby work like that. I had to get my husband to confirm that no one had touched it since Zach installed it before he would listen. Finally Zach stopped arguing and started diagnosing. He found that the control board had shorted, so he fixed it, but warned us that it might not last, and he might have to get a replacement part. He told us if it wasn't going to work, we'd know in a couple of days, and he'd return with the replacement part (that we would have to pay for), but that the labour, if it was needed, would be free. Okay, we were fairly warned. We'd paid a nominal amount for the labour, and were generally satisfied with the outcome. The dishwasher stopped working again a month later. Zach had no memory (or notes) of his original diagnosis, and wanted to come back and take another look. After another day of waiting to hear from him, he called late and said he'd show up at about 3:30. It was 4:45 when he got there. He came up with the same diagnosis, and said he would pick up the part in Coquitlam the following day, then come back to fix it. I had to call him the following day to find out if/when he was coming back. He then told me the part wasn't in stock at the warehouse (it had showed as available on the internet inventory, but that hadn't been updated). He said he'd come over later, but I told him it made no sense if he didn't have the part with him. Now, maybe he told me that it would take 7 to 10 business days to get it in, but if he did, I missed that. But he also said he'd be back the following day, so I assumed that meant "with the part." I waited until past noon the next day, then called to see if he'd picked up the part yet. He berated me for expecting him to have the part and swore he told me it would be 7-10 days. So I asked him why he was planning to come over anyway, and he said he wanted another shot at diagnosing it without having the part in hand. I'd said "No" to this the day before, but now I agreed because I needed my dishwasher back. Then I spoke with my husband, and we both agreed to cut our ties with this clown show. We just don't need is lies, delays or arguments anymore. I called him back and cancelled the visit AND ordering the part, told him we would just buy a new one and didn't want to continue doing business with him. He thanked me for letting him off the hook of his promise of free labour for installing the part. In my opinion, he was ridiculously unprofessional and doesn't deserve repeat business. read more

I phoned Zach on Thursday, August 17th and left him a voicemail, and after not hearing back for more than 24 hours, I phoned him again on Friday, August 18th. I scheduled an appointment for him to fix our KitchenAid dishwasher on Saturday, August 19th at 3:00pm. He phoned me just before 3:00pm and said he will be late. I asked how late and he said 3:30pm - 3:45pm. I said I have somewhere to be so no later than 4:00pm. He still hadn't showed up by 3:45pm so I phoned him for an ETA and he said he's a block away, so I came downstairs to let him into the parking lot. I waited outside my building for him until 4:20pm and he still hadn't arrived! So I phoned him and asked where he was and he said just a block away. It somehow took him half an hour to travel a block, with no explanation for why he's so late nor an apology. Instead he showed up a few minutes later and started to argue with me that he was only 20 minutes late! I said he's actually an hour and a half late but at this point just park and come up to fix the dishwasher. He continued to argue and said he needs at least 2 hours to repair the dishwasher. I had other places to be so at this point I had enough and said I will call another technician and sent him on his unprofessional way! read more

I've used Zak's services multiple times over the past couple of years, and have been impressed every time by the sincere and customer friendly approach he takes.
