I have arranged for Shane to come and help fix my Fisher & Paykel fridge based on the reviews here…read more I have informed him of the F2 error which I've informed him as defrost error. Customer support: Shane was very accommodating in terms of scheduling/ changing appointment. He also called back really promptly. Services: Shane was unable to resolve the problem for me. He pulled the fridge out and looked at the back where the compressor was, checked the resistance, and said I needed a new fridge. He also said it could be computer board error and would be very pricey and may cost as much as a new fridge. I wasn't convinced as my fridge is relatively new (5 years) and on the market now is still around $3000. I sought a 2nd opinion with another company (that was recommended by a hardware store that said that other company services Fisher & Paykel appliances). The other repair company came and fixed it within 30 minutes (they knew exactly what was wrong based on the error code; it was simply the defrosting element that malfunctioned.. hence defrost error, my fridge has no more error since the element was replaced). Cost: He offered one of the most competitive call-out rate. He charged me for the call out rate and didn't charge me for labour since he couldn't resolve my issue. Overall, I appreciated the customer service and the courtesy of not having charged labour. But I did have to call for another company and according to them was a simple fix hence the lower rating.

Our old dyson finally quit and after much research, we decided we'd upgrade to a Miele or a SEBO…read more Searched for a reputable dealer/repair shop, found the West Van Vacuum Center recommended and decided to go in to see them. Small shop but packed to the brim with both of the brands we wanted to see. John was super friendly and knowledgeable and gave a full explanation of each of the machine models we had targeted (C3 and E3). Absolutely zero pressure or upsell vibes. We decided to go with the Miele and were able to get the additional attachments, and bags/filter packs we wanted as well (everything was in stock). Opened the vacuum's box in the store and verified everything was functional before we left. The miele vacuum is a dream and so much better than the old Dyson - by far! We couldn't be more pleased with it. I feel confident that we got good value for the money and if there are any issues this shop will be able to address them easily. I like knowing that we can bring it in and they will take care of it on site instead of sending it away. Long story short: great service, excellent product knowledge, zero sales pressure, great selection of models/accessories and technically capable of complete repairs on site if ever necessary. What more could you want? Highly reccommend!

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE THE place to come for your vacuum…read moreneeds! (insert a cheesy they-do-not-suck-despite-being-a-vacuum-shop pun here). We will drive from Richmond to West Van just to see them - the service is that good - so much so we would happily reward their customer service! === 2. PRODUCT/SERVICE They sell/support a variety of brands and equipment and it changes slightly over the years (since we started seeing them in 2004); our experience is with two CycloVac central vacuum systems which they certain sell and support. Whether it's to purchase a new system, purchase accessories, or get support, we have experienced their fair / good prices and excellent customer service. In fact, they could offer a masterclass in customer service - it starts with the father and the two sons - whether they were coming to our home to estimate/propose the best system, to installing such, troubleshooting things, recommending the best options - they are always putting the customer first, even for things they could not sell to us. As long as the family is running the shop, we look forward to more years of continued patronage with them! === 4. ENVIRONMENT The small showroom is packed with various vacuum equipment, so that limits the number of people inside (even pre-pandemic) but maximizes the team's ability to show you different products. It also doesn't fit wheelchairs or baby strollers well (our little one only fit when he started walking on his own). Parking is interesting - you're up to trying your luck with street parking out front or a few spaces in the back - a little tight, but your best bet, as that's the one we have success with all of the time.

0/5- terrible work, absurd delays and no accountability- AVOID Totem!…read more After five weeks, nearly $1,000 spent, and countless hours wasted, our appliance is still completely broken. Initially, they charged a $167 diagnostic fee and a $663 parts prepayment, promising a 10-day fix. Instead, they sat on my money for over a week before ordering the parts. When I called to check in, staff were incredibly rude and blamed me for the delay. Four weeks later, a technician finally installed the parts and left without testing them. I paid another $143--bringing the total to $973--but the machine failed immediately. The technician visited a week later (for the third time) and admitted he didn't know how to fix it. Management has completely ignored my requests to speak with them. They eventually promised a refund (minus the diagnostic fee) but have provided no written confirmation or money. Totem defaulted on every promise. Save your resources and avoid them entirely.

The appliance suffered severe, irreparable structural and electrical damage. Allstate sent a technician from Kirpal Calgary to assess the damage. This technician conducted a completely negligent review. Despite visible charring, compromised internal components, and exposed electrical wiring sticking out of the unit, the technician claimed the appliance "looks good." It was abundantly clear that his only priority was collecting his service call fee, showing an absolute disregard for safety, liability, and professional ethics. I have provided numerous photographic records and video evidence clearly demonstrating that this appliance is a total loss and a severe fire hazard. It is deeply concerning that Allstate is choosing to accept the word of a negligent third-party contractor over indisputable photographic proof.
