I'be always been pleased with the tires, service and after sales support. What was Central Tire is now Sullivan. But, despite the change, Todd Wilson, as store manager is a familiar face. I've been able to just stop by for a little air in tires anytime. Todd and other workers will give me honest info and advice about the status of the tires and what to expect later. Don't try to call them - their "auto attendant" is the WORST I have ever had the displeasure of trying to get through to ANYONE!!!!!!!!! If you know your party's extension - I don't - and no matter how many extensions I try - NO EXTENSIONS are valid. If you know your party's name type in the last name and hit # - I don't know anyones name - I am calling for service. If you wish to speak to an operator press 0 - AND.... when you press 0 you get the If you know your party's extension SERIOUSLY????????? After HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS I could have driven to another state and not had as much frustration. NOT QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL - I can't speak of their repair service because I can't freaking get through to get an appointment. I been living in Sanford for over ten years. Been a Central Tire customer for over 10 years. Moving up from southern New England it would've been easy for me to continue to be a customer of town fair tire. However I feel confident that I picked the right garage. Reason being is inspections and while I have never had an issue ever. Also if you're not sure just ask they've been always helpful in explaining any detail. Also they've been helpful recommending businesses which they feel are honest and prudent to my needs I like how they treat me and I like how they work. In reading some of these comments I find that if you took apart customers not providing their needs. Central Tire. Personally any thing that has to do with my vehicle and it's operating performance I asked Central Tire what they feel and if they could take a look at or recommend a shop or garage that could help me with my problems. Then they have been there for me never scaring me wrong. Forget what you've heard unless it was positive and give them a try. read more

Ten years ago the service was always good and good work. Now I wouldn't even let them fix a tire on a bike.

A couple weeks ago I went to central tire to have 4 new tires put on to my car. Yesterday I was looking at my rims/ tires while I was pumping gas (should I have waited this long to actually look at them? No! However I really didn't think I needed to inspect my own car after having a service preformed on it!). I noticed a spot that looked strange so I took a closer look. Turns out every lug-nut hole on my rim was chipped! So I contacted Central tire and I was told they don't cover those issues but if I wanted to stop in with it they would take a look at it. When I got there we actually walked around my vehicle to look at every rim. Mind you I know that accidents do happen and I am totally okay with it. But while looking at them all each and every rim/ lug-nut has chips around them! Also the place where the center cover is severely chipped and when I pointed that out they had admitted that it was their tire machine. That's admitting to the damage! So this was not an accident this was a result of negligence. I was told they could not do anything for me since they have a sign in their office stating that they are not reliable for damage when mounting tires (needing that sign posted from previous damages done to someones rims). I did see that sign and thought it was a bit strange but I was being optimistic that a company that focuses on tires and tire changes would be able to properly do their jobs. Since central tire has been in business for a long time I figured no problem. I have since realized that if there is a sign stating such things that you should take it as literal as possible. They caused damage to every rim on my car and to compensate me they offered me to have a couple free oil changes since they can't do anything about the actual damage. After thinking it over I will NEVER bring my vehicle back to central tire for any reason. If they can do that much damage doing a simple tire change then what can they do while preforming any other service. read more

So I had a tire that was occasionally losing air. Actually at the time I brought the car to Central Tire the TPMS (tire pressure system) was not causing the light on my dash. But I felt to be safe I should have the tire looked at. Big Mistake! After having my car in the back for over 1 hour and a half...and after hearing the front guy on the phone with someone asking a question citing my car I went up to the desk. He said that the rim was bent and was pressing on the tire at certain moments allowing air to escape and that they had "to be careful" hammering the rim back into shape. When the "work" was finally finished and I paid the 30$ , I was told that the tire warning light might blink for awhile until the system "reset" itself. He forgot to say that there was also I horrid beeping every 5 minutes while driving. Well after 2 days of this beeping and flashing light I went on the internet and saw that this was telling me that the the system was actually not working. Also after bringing the car to a specialist with my type of car I was told that it had actually been broken when the rim was removed from the tire. I then realized that indeed there was a different cap on the tire stem from the rest of the tires. So now I have to spend 400$ to have a new pressure sensor put on the tire. For 400$ I could have bought a whole new tire! Now accidents happen and if someone is not knowledgeable with a certain tire or monitoring system, maybe they should have told me to take it elsewhere or at least told me that they had broken the sensor.....and maybe not charged me 30$ to break the sensor!! So needless to say Central Tire in Sanford , ME was neither knowledgeable about checking a tire nor were they honest when they did something wrong ...lying to a customer and charging them for it! read more

They flubbed the very elemental task of pouring the right amount of oil into my 4-cyl Toyota - they overfilled it by a quart and a half. (What would they do with something complicated?!?) While waiting I heard them make excuses to several customers why their vehicle work wasn't completed, or why something was done incorrectly, etc. I certainly won't go back to Central Tire and would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Brought a tire to be tubed, they told me they didn't have a machine to do tired that size. A month early they had no problem doing it. They simply didn't feel like doing it, rather sell a tire then repair a lawn mower tire. Went to Percy's, tubed it while I waited read more

I was rejected service today. As i was purchasing a new tire and wheel for my trailer, i asked if they could mount a new set of wheels and tires i had purchased for a restoration project i have, that required a specific wheel design i purchased thru a specialized vendor. the mounting/balancing was standard practice.i was told that they don't generally do this even though the service of mounting and balancing is clearly displayed on their price chart, item 1. i understand they are in business to sell tires, however they offer the service, many services, they have the techs, they have the equipment. Their policy needs to be reconsidered by ownership/management. I will say however that the man at the counter was professional and patient when explaining their "policy" and that this decision was clearly above his position. I will also say, that the "big box" down the street was more than happy to accept my $100 for this service. read more
