I have repeatedly gone there to find they close their doors well before the posted hours of operation. They are supposed to be open until 5 during the week. I drive by around 4 bringing a friend home from work and come back by 4:30 and the place is closed up with a sign saying they are booked for the day. I have been going to Sticker Station for years for oil changes and inspections. Easy in and easy out. The system is first come first serve. You sign in and wait in your car. It is okay to go in to use the facilities while you wait. They do not know mechanical work so no worries about him trying to sell you repair work, however, you will be informed of any problems and the second inspection is free once issues are repaired at place of your choice. I appreciate the concept of this business, essentially specializing in state inspections and no appointment needed. I'd avoid the end of the month or the first of month if you can as it tends to be busier but when my regular mechanic stopped doing state inspections, he referred me here and I've been a returning customer for a few years now. I like knowing he's they aren't trying to sell me crap I don't need since the only other services provided are minimal, bulbs, and I think maybe wiper blades. Wait time can be around 45 minutes, or longer, it's totally dependent on how busy they are and it is first come, first served. read more

I've used the Sanford location multiple times over the years. Haven't always passed, but never been gotten upset over it. He's done the headlight restore, it needed it, and it came out looking new. It's convenient and close, no appointments needed. Always been responsive and respectful. And oil changes are also reasonable Will use services again read more

After waiting awhile to do an inspection I was informed that I had an airbag light on before even bringing it in. the good news is there was no charge because the inspection never took place. however, after returning to my vehicle there was no airbag light on so I have no idea what he even saw. only good thing is that there was no charge since there was no inspection. read more

Honest and therough. Integrity with real concern for the safety of the customer and compliance with the state mandated rules. Where else are you going to get a proper safety diagnosis for the price of an inspection. Customers are rude to the technician when they don't get something free or don't hear what they want to hear. Technician is not setting himself up for more work as they don't do rust repairs, suspention, exhaust, or other time consuming work. They are set up for minor work and Maintenance. read more

Overall, actually have used all three locations. All of which I've had the great solid experience of getting a car inspection with no appointment. The tech is knowledgeable and thorough, even if you fail it's a legitimate fail and they're not trying to sell you something because they don't do major repairs! read more

I don't know if the guy who works here is lazy, or just doesn't know the ME inspection manual. (In addition to a terrible attitude always) Walks out to my truck and says he will fail it because my exhaust: (before even inspecting it, at least he saved me the 12.50) 1.) Exits before rear wheel and "rangers exhausts are supposed to exit behind the wheel" (Irrelevant see picture below) 2.) The exhaust is too loud. (See picture below) I have gone here many times before and usually he inspects my vehicle, and tries pushing a "headlight restoration" until I call out his BS for what it is. But I kept coming back due to the convenience of not needing an appointment and usually speedy service. In the state of Maine it's best to build a relationship with a good mechanic unless you have a new/newer vehicle. I brought it to the place I get my vehicle worked on, and didn't hear a word about the muffler. The "Stickah" Station. You're in, you're stickered, you're out, right? Think again. I was curious to understand the profitability of a business model where the service offered is a 15 minute inspection that costs $12.50. I think I figured it out. While waiting for my inspection to finish, I was reading random things on their wall and found a framed newspaper clipping, the author wrote that Sticker Station does not have a conflict of interest as most mechanics do because they do not offer repair services. That sounded great to me until my car failed inspection due to "cloudy headlights" and a "tarnished mirror". Interestingly, and in contrast to what I had just read, they do perform "Headlight Restoration", a service that costs more than $60. I was also told that I would need to pay the inspection fee again if I did not have them perform this headlight restoration, but I wouldn't if I had them do it. I would check elsewhere if you have a vehicle that might need "Headlight Restoration". read more

Failed for a 3rd brake light. I asked what the cost was to install the light and it was $36. For 2 screws and a $3 bulb repair that takes 1 minute. I left and went 1/8 mile down road, installed bulb myself at Napa and returned only to have truck put back on lift again and reinspected only 3-5minutes later. If a fail report says 3rd brake light, why does it need to go back on the lift? My guess was to double check and see if he could find something else he could try and make money on beside charging me twice for a sticker over the stupid 3rd brake light bulb. He came out and said good news is "I couldn't find anything broken since you left." Before I left, I even asked for this business to sell me the bulb so I could give them the sale of product and they refused! Forcing me to leave. Little did I know it was for the bait of saying you broke something once you left here... I'm surprised this business is allowed to operate like this and Anyone continues to pull in there. This is the worst business model I have ever seen for repeat business in all my years as a business owner myself. Good luck praying on one shots. I hope you get shut down and soon. I've only been here once, but my one experience was great. I researched the best places to get my car inspected and this one had good reviews online so I decided on it. The process was quick and efficient. The guy working there was nice. I wanted an oil change as well. He initially said he was not going to have time before his lunch to do it, but then he ended up just doing it and taking his lunch break a little late. That was very unexpected and kind of him. read more

The "sucka" station. My 2005 car failed for a tire that did need replacing. However, it also failed because it had 2 side light bulbs out. I said "why don't you replace them". Which they did. However, it cost me $52 dollars to have 3 small $2 dollar bulbs replaced. I said "wow that is expensive". The guy said "yea that is". I also paid the $12.50 inspection fee. Very nice man working on the car, but EXTREMELY expensive. Do not go here. I ended up replacing the tire at Central Tire and had it stickered immediately there. Save your time. read more

Registered my truck in Maine today. DMV Mentioned that there was sticker station down the road. I go there. I walk in to a man sitting at the counter His tag says Mike. I ask "could I get my truck inspected?" He replies, NO. I asked "why?" He says because you have NH Plates. I explain that I just DMV and is it possible that I could use a screw driver and I will put on the new ones. He says NO I won't lend you a screw driver. We install plates here so we don't lend out screw drivers. I say "ok, how much do you charge? He says 5$. I agree. He was not friendly and down right mean. Uncomfortable situation. Trucks inspected, plates are on. He tells me the cost is 17.50. Fine! he rings in 12.50 into the register. I give him 20.50 and he returns 3$. So, he is either scaring the company or the IRS. Does the owner know this? I go to the list of services for the company and Plate install is NOT one of the services provided. Something is not up to par with this business. read more

I'm a broke college student and before going off to school I needed a last minute inspection. Now my car isn't in prime condition but I took it to the Sticker Station in hopes of getting a sticker. I waited 10 minutes or so after checking in and my car was in the garage getting inspected. The tech was personable and informative when he said I needed one new bulb in my tail light and I'd be good to go, so he did the quick installment. In less than 30 minutes I was in and out with a sticker and rundown of my vehicle. Definitely a good concept and good tech working there. read more
