They are awesome. Kind, honest, hospitable and really helpful. My wife and I were in town from Vermont to buy a used vehicle and they attempted to work us in on a busy Saturday for an inspection. When it wouldn't work due to a clearance issue, they found someone nearby who could help. They really went out of their way to help us without any financial incentive to do so, and when we offered to pay them they declined. So, I think I'm going to regret this, but Gateway Gas in Berwick is a completely wonderful sort of hidden gem. I've been getting my state vehicle inspections done there for years, and have had minor work done for very reasonable prices. Back story...This year of course it being 2020, my vehicle needed some major work. I got the major work done elsewhere, as I needed a loaner, and as of yet this isn't a service Gateway provides. I'm lobbying them for that service hard though. Well, the major work wasn't worked enough, and I had some steering problems. So, I organized my schedule and my wallet to have a couple days off, and dropped my vehicle off. I live 2 blocks from them. That afternoon, I get a call, 100$ your vehicle is ready. I was anticipating 2 days and 1000$. Silly me. Fast forward to today. My ac has been spotty and it's getting hot. Vehicle is north of 150k miles, so again expecting a big bill and time off the road. 135$ later and a half day. They are honest and straight up, and busy. Which is why I prefaced this by saying I might regret it later, but these guys are the real deal, and deserve good business. read more

Absolutely terrible. I went in for gasoline on 11/05/18. The younger brother of the two brothers poured the gas for me. I singed the credit card voucher and left.15 mins. later I reached my studio in Rollinsford and noticed my gas gauge had not moved showing the gas was not put into my car. I immediately called and they were not willing to look into it cause I called them 30 min later. After ripping me off for $10.00 they told me they wanted me never to come back and they send me to Cumberland farms down the street from them. Stay away from this place, they were not willing to even look into what happened at the pump. I will be calling the Maine department of Commerce to start an investigation as well as calling the Better Business Bureau. I have pictures of my gas gauge and my receipt. Pleas stay away!!! UPDATE: just reported them to the Maine Department of Agriculture as well as the Better Business Bureau. read more

I will never recommend car repair at any gateway gas stations! They are lying and deceitful. The repair work is disgraceful! Your personal belongings will be stolen. The managers will take advantage of you if you are not knowledgeable of your repairs required charging outrageous prices for poor service. Beware! Find a trustworthy owner that won't steal your vehicle! What's disappointing is that this business used to be gold star and I a valued customer for 10 years! read more

I have had oil changes, new tires (they saved me $100's of dollars over the dealer), state inspections and the work has always been done timely and with a smile. We have 8 vehicles (crazy, I know) and so there is one car in the shop quite often whether or be for an inspection sticker, tires, oil changes or just general repairs. I live in York and Gateway is a good 25 mins from my house but I would drive hours to have my cars serviced at Gateway. Their mechanic hourly rate is lower than most garages and they have saved me so much money. They are honest, hard working, fair and knowledgeable. I do not have enough good things to say about this garage. It has been probably about 12 years we have had Gateway taking car of our cars. read more

So I looked forward to helping local business as much as I can and GW makes that so easy to do. Yes their gas cost a little more being in Maine but they pump it for you with little to no wait. I would call before I go there just to make sure they're open they don't stick to their hours of operation I got there at 7:55 when they close at 8 and the guy told me he closed early to do paperwork and s*** very unprofessional. I got out of work and rushed over there to be there by 8 because I was out of heating fuel for my home and my family gets to be cold now because he had paperwork to do. read more

These guys used to be great, but have gone down hill. I called for an inspection and they told me to be there at a certain time, I got there on time and then they told me they didn't have time to do one and to come back at a certain time the next day. I brought it back the following day and was told again they didn't have time. I wouldn't waste your time! read more
