I'm not a regular customer but last night, at closing, I pulled in to Troegner's after a dead battery jumpstart by AAA. Though it was not their fault as soon as I left the parking lot my power steering started to fail and a clunk started at the back of my car. I drove about a mile and managed to pull in to Troegner's. Closing time or not they immediately started to diagnose and resolve the issue and finally determined I needed a new battery. They did not hesitate in staying late to address my issue and charged me only for the battery, no labor. If that's how they do business you won't go wrong if you have them work on your vehicle. I'm about 20 miles away and am seriously considering having them be my go to service center. read more

Troegner's had the best price, told me of X amount of things they found that may cause problems in the future, and found a used engine without 48457238943 miles on it. Wow! These guys are the best! They just saved our family vacation! We were supposed to head out on Sunday, but the car developed a fuel leak. Had the car towed to Troegner's and called them first thing Monday morning. They are the most honest, down to earth, hard working professional mechanics in the greater Portland Area! If you are a local or just traveling through, I give them my highest of recommendations!!! Whether it be a scheduled thing requiring an appointment (sometimes you will have to wait up to 1 week if it is a non-urgent matter,.. but well worth the wait) or if your car simply stops working in a more urgent situation, they are my go-to mechanics. I tried unsuccessfully to fix my car on one occasion and then dragged the poor thing to them to get properly fixed; With utmost professionalism and kindness, they recommended that I return the new part that didn't work out, back to AutoZone to save some $. They are hard working folks and they look out for your best interest. For quick non-urgent things requiring an appointment, if they say it will be 30 min, they are usually right on the mark, saving valuable time. Laurie the office manager is the sweetest and always has treats for guests in the waiting room (for both two and four legged guests). What a great place!! While driving up on the Maine Turnpike from Massachusetts, my car suddenly starting making a loud, scary noise. I thought the muffler was dragging but after pulling off the road, it was clear that wasn't the case. I got off the highway and drove SLOWLY on route 1. I happened upon Troegner's. The guys were WONDERFUL!! They drove the car then put it up on the lift. The problem was a plastic bag that had wrapped itself around some pipes causing them to reverberate and make the noise. They took off the bag and I was on my way. THe whole experience took about 10 minutes. They wouldn't take any money. These guys were really great. read more

I am now one of those people telling everyone - BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!! As a young woman who stereo-typically knows NOTHING about cars, it is definitely intimidating taking your car to a garage to be fixed. I always worry about being taken advantage of money wise (ripped off), or getting the run around. But I had nothing to worry about at all! From the first phone call to the last visit in the office, Lori, the receptionist, was the nicest person ever!
