I came in, put my laundry in the washer, went to go get change. The machine says no $20.00 Bill's, that's fine. I ask the attendant for 2 10's, he then proceeds to tell me that the machine is out of change. But, I watched him pull hands full of quarters out of a bucket and put them in a loaf pan. He has that sitting on the counter in front of him. I asked why he couldn't make change out of that, he tells me he can give me 10, I say okay and he then tells me he has an important account coming in and can't spare any change. I told him there needs to be a note on the door saying there is no change available. He then tells me I'm making him mad and he won't give me change after all. He says well, you should have change when you come to the laundry mat. Why have change machines if you aren't going to make sure they are stocked?! He was very rude and inconsiderate to me. I am only doing my laundry here today because my clothes were already in the washer. A kind young man went and got me change. I won't be back to this place. Half the time the dryers don't heat up. *EDIT* after the attendant refused to give me change, several other people came in and he made change for them. He even allowed one woman to count her own change out of aforementioned loaf pan. I used this laundry mat every single time I did laundry, but will not go back after being treated the way I was and the dirty looks the man gave me every time I walked in that day. read more

EDIT: This used to be a nice review but after today's visit I would rather wash my clothes in the river than go to Central Square again. It appears to be under new management and the only improvement is the addition of an ATM. Everything else seems to have tumbled downhill; the place was FILTHY, there were about 3 chairs and 20 people (I could see more empty chairs in the employee area but the employee ((or maybe the owner, who knows)) who was present couldn't have cared less) and it was equally as hot inside the building as it was outside despite the claims of "air conditioning" on the windows and door. There were fans everywhere, and none of them were on except the one near the employee/owner I spoke of. I considered that the rest of them might not work but they were all chained down with padlocks which was a classy look, to be sure. The thing that really bothered me, though, was the fact that this guy, the employee or owner who was there, was sitting at the ONLY table in one of the ONLY chairs watching his portable DVD player as loudly as possible (loud enough for me to conclude that he was watching The Mummy) while the television was off leaving the customers bored. At one point a toddler yelled and this pleasant chap responded by turning the volume up and sneering at the mother. I was so disgusted by the way this guy treats his customers that I took my wet clothes out of the washer and went elsewhere. I beg you, do not give them your hard-earned quarters. ETA: The owner has responded to this review in the 'not recommended' section and I am dying laughing. I never 'overfilled the washer and asked for a refund' and in fact I have never spoken any words to any person who worked here. The idea that I start trouble is laughable, I have a hard enough time talking to strangers when I actually have to, let alone for no good reason. Get better at lying if you want to act like a d**k about a laundromat review. read more

This newly remodeled laundromat is super clean, well maintained and has staff onsite during business hours. All the machines are new and work well. They offer 3 sizes of machines depending on your load capacity. No cash, no problem. They have an App to use to pay for washers and dryers which is super convenient. This is the only dry cleaner in town so they are busy. And since they no longer do their dry cleaning in-house, the turn around time is a little longer but I've had good experiences with no issues. I really like the drop off wash and dry services they offer. I've taken several large blankets/quilts to have washed and dried with same day service. The staff has always done a great job, very friendly and only $22.

Alexandra's didn't have a ton of photos, but the language in previous reviews pointed me in their direction. The shop is co-located with a hair salon. I'm not sure if the hair salon keeps the same hours, but I posted a photo of Alexandra's hours here on Yelp. Double check before heading their way. They work SUPER hard to make alterations to your specifications. They will also make recommendations according to your garment's material(s) and what they have seen work and not work before. They have worked magic on my dresses, taken in jeans, and altered tops, hems, gowns, quilts, and more for me. They truly can do it all. The shop ladies are extremely friendly in a no-nonsense kind of way.....does that make sense? What I mean is - It seems like everyone in the area takes their items there, so they STAY busy. They have to stop working on their current project to help you, so it's usually less chit chat and more, "Go in and try it on." As I write this in 6/2025, I think the current return time os 8/2025. Keep in mind, June is right after prom season and right in the middle of wedding season. If I knew how to sew, I'd apply for part time basic work just to learn more from these ladies. The prices are reasonable. I always pay in cash as a nod to small business keeping more of monies earned. Lastly, check out my pictures of their seasonal "porch display." Most of the garments displayed are remnants of cloth these ladies fashioned into a dress. I KNOW the necklace paired with the winter dress was made with recycled buttons. We would work with a seamstress to make pieces fit uniquely and perfectly to the customer. Since leaving NY 11yrs ago I haven't found someone who I could work with in this way on my own clothes (I'm not a good seamstress). I am beside myself excited to have found this shop.
