I admit, I am one of those people who gets in the car turns the key and goes; I sometimes forget to…read morecheck that little gage that tells you if you have enough fuel to go. These happened to me the other day and Step N Go saved my ass and perhaps my life. The other day while driving home from work a cute little light came on my dash board that resemble a fuel pump at a gas station. WTF, I was only two bars above the E and I needed gas. What am I going to do? I was on Route 3 and I knew of no gas station until I crossed McKinley Bridge back in to the city. I knew of two dead bodies they had found between the bridge and where I was, and I did not want to be the third. Running out of gas and walking that neighborhood was not in my plans. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw a Phillips 66 sign up in the sky. I quickly made a left turn and arrived at Step N Go. Sigh of relief. Gas prices were your typical Illinois high price, but I bought just enough to get me back to MO where the gas prices are more affordable. While pumping my gas I noticed a banner that they sold a $175,000 Lotto ticket, so I thought what the hell I'll buy a ticket. I didn't win $175,000, but the scratchers and other tickets have kept paying for themselves and keep me coming back for at least the lottery. For a convenience market, I was surprised how extensive and well merchandised their wine selection is. Staff is friendly, good eye candy and drive a nice Lexus. Who knew working at a gas station and convenience mart paid so well.

I came in, put my laundry in the washer, went to go get change. The machine says no $20.00 Bill's,…read morethat's fine. I ask the attendant for 2 10's, he then proceeds to tell me that the machine is out of change. But, I watched him pull hands full of quarters out of a bucket and put them in a loaf pan. He has that sitting on the counter in front of him. I asked why he couldn't make change out of that, he tells me he can give me 10, I say okay and he then tells me he has an important account coming in and can't spare any change. I told him there needs to be a note on the door saying there is no change available. He then tells me I'm making him mad and he won't give me change after all. He says well, you should have change when you come to the laundry mat. Why have change machines if you aren't going to make sure they are stocked?! He was very rude and inconsiderate to me. I am only doing my laundry here today because my clothes were already in the washer. A kind young man went and got me change. I won't be back to this place. Half the time the dryers don't heat up. *EDIT* after the attendant refused to give me change, several other people came in and he made change for them. He even allowed one woman to count her own change out of aforementioned loaf pan. I used this laundry mat every single time I did laundry, but will not go back after being treated the way I was and the dirty looks the man gave me every time I walked in that day.

I explained how disappointed I was because when I dropped off the garments, there was no mention about having to replace the fabric of the belt loops or completely altering the back of the skirt where the zipper was. She asked what she could do to make it right. I could tell she really cares about her business and customers, as well as the quality of work they produce. I explained that there wasn't much because of how altered they both were but instead, to make sure her parents fully understood what the customer was wanting and not to be afraid to say no if they couldn't actually do it. She agreed and again, couldn't have been more apologetic. This was a learning lesson for both parties and I know how to move forward. In the beginning, she asked if she could give me a refund. I declined at first because I wasn't seeking one but instead, was really hoping something could be done about my clothes. After a few phone calls, I decided I'd go ahead and take it. Prior to this, It had been a while since I've brought something to them but because this was handled so professionally, I'll continue using them but for dry cleaning only. Michelle, thank you for your kindness and empathy you displayed in trying to remedy this situation.

I was looking for a place to clean and package up my wife's wedding dress as an anniversary gift to…read moreher. I came across this place when I was googling. The dress was pretty clean but the bottom was pretty dirty from our outdoor wedding. Their service was excellent. They got it cleaned and packaged up in box within two weeks of dropping it off there. The communication they provided was excellent. They even sent a text message when the dress was ready for pickup. The quality of work was well worth the cost. The dress cleaning and preservation was $260 then they offered two size boxes. The medium box was $80 and the large box was $100. My wife's dress luckily fit into a medium box so I walked away with an out the door price of $360. I was not aware until I picked it up that the box I purchased came with a window so that you could still see the dress while keeping it packaged up and looking nice! I would highly recommend this place for all your dry cleaning needs and especially if you're looking to have your wedding dress preserved. My rating : BEST
