Central Perk is a great option for a healthy lunch in Hamilton. They offer a variety of soups, wraps and sandwiches, so this place is definitely a welcome change from fast food options. On our recent visit my fiance and I both had "the Janice" wraps. If you haven't noticed, there's definitely a Friends theme going on. Anyway, the decor is cute and simple inside, but we chose to enjoy their outdoor patio. Our wraps were yummy and I wouldn't say it was the most creative wraps I've ever had, but it hit the spot. We will definitely come back on our next stop through Hamilton. read more

A converted house in Hamilton, Texas where they create sandwich art. From the Monica to the Chandler to the Joey (yes it's a Friends themes menu) the sandwiches were fresh and tasty. We've passed this place several times on the way to Dallas from Austin and back but decided to stop and try it out today. So glad we did! First of all, Friends is absolutely my fave show of all time so this was a natural fit for me. All of the sandwiches and wraps are named after Friends characters. I got the Phoebe (a veggie panini) and my husband got the Gunther (a meaty sandwich with the most amazing bacon) and we both had a cup of the baked potato soup. Everything is made fresh and from scratch. The potato soup was delicious as were the sandwiches. We both had empty bowls and happy plates. Stopped by here for lunch on a weekend hunting trip and we are glad we did. We had two pressed paninis with warm vegetable soup and a third chicken salad sandwich to top us off. Every single bite was delicious. The two ladies working were super sweet, and you can tell everything from the strawberry lemonade to the sandwich ingredients are fresh and homemade. The prices were very fair, our 3 sandwiches and 2 drinks cost just under $30. Only regret is that we couldn't try the stuffed avocados as they were not ripe. I had the Mr. Heckles wrap. It said it was roast beef, cheese, pesto, lettuce, and tomato. When I got it, the "Pesto" was Caesar salad dressing, the tomato chunks were huge, and I didn't taste any cheese. The tomato basil soup was pretty good, but kind of watery. There are few times in my life when I have anticipated something so much and been so disappointed. My wife and I were returning from a weekend camping in the Hill Country and in need of a good cup of coffee. You'd think with a name like "Central Perk" and a picture of coffee cups on their logo, the coffee would be at least decent. I realize it's the Middle. Of. Nowhere. And I didn't expect a $10K expresso machine. But the coffee was hot and that's about all it had going for it. I've had better that was sitting out for hours at a truck stop. We found this little gem on the way to Fredericksburg. It was very good and even better that my family and I were super Friends fans!! It was fun, tasty, cute, quaint. My only improvement recommendations would be to keep the lemonade cold, versus warm and put a little more sand which meat/fillers in the paninis. We stopped here for coffee excited to check out such a cute place. We walked in and were completely ignored by the 3 ladies working there. They sat there and talked to each other for several minutes while we stood waiting to order until one of them finally acknowledged us, and took our order. I really like this place and think it deserves better than the 3 stars it's currently rated. I've been here two different times, while passing through town for lunch. The menu is a typical cafe/deli menu with sandwiches, salads, and soups. It's located in a converted old house and has a super cozy feeling inside. Both times here I ordered a sandwich and each time is was large, fresh, and completely delicious. Almost too much food for one person. Being absolute friends fanatics, my boyfriend and I stopped here on our way home on a road trip. Just when we were getting bored on a road trip through the middle of nowhere, we drove by this place and I almost jumped out of my seat so high and yelled that I thought we might crashed. So we turned back and around and decided that we couldn't pass up the opportunity to eat at a place that was literally inspired from our favorite show. We got in side, and I fell in love. The decor. The atmosphere. The fact that the menu was designed and dishes were named by the different characters. (My favorite name was the veggie one named after phoebe haha). I ordered the Janice wrap while he ordered the Gunther sandwich. We both ate everything on our plates and contemplating picking one of there many pie options but decided we were too full. Both of the sandwiches hit the Spot. This place is the epitome of cute sandwich bakery/cafe. Like seriously, my mom is determined to go there with me now even though it's almost 2 1/2 hours away. We drive on 281 often between San Antonio and Ft. Worth. Due to food sensitivities and a desire to eat healthier, we have been looking for good alternatives to fast food. WE FOUND IT! The Central Perk serves healthy, home-made, fresh food. I had the stuffed avocado with chicken salad that was not swimming in mayonnaise. It had pecan and celery as a bonus. It came with a side and I chose the chicken and wild rice soup. YUM for both! Others in my party ordered wraps and a BLT. The wraps were tasty and the bacon on the BLT was just the right thickness, not paper thin and not too thick. Everyone was so pleased with their food. The atmosphere was delightful, the service was quick and the servers were very kind. We topped off our meal with a piece of chocolate pie that was big enough for all 4 of us to share. I would recommend Central Perk whole-heartedly. Can't wait to go back. Seating inside or out. PERFECT! Thank you to the owners for giving us an alternative to fast food that is not a BBQ place. read more
