Unfortunately, during the pedicure, the technician working on my friend asked if I was her mother. This comment was extremely rude and inappropriate, and it deeply hurt my feelings. I spent the remainder of my appointment trying not to cry and ultimately sat there in tears for much of the service. I came in hoping to feel refreshed and confident, but instead I left feeling embarrassed and awful. I strongly suggest that management provide sensitivity and customer-awareness training for employees. Comments about age or appearance can be incredibly damaging, and no client should leave a self-care appointment feeling worse than when they arrived.

I had two girls doing me one's name was Cindy and the other one I don't know. I just have a photo she was awful. She kept going back to her boss asking should I charge her this should I charge her that it was all about the money she come back and tell me gel nails would be $54 which I only pay 42 where I go in Fort Worth. I was OK with that but then she kept wanting to add on more stuff and kept getting up to ask her boss and then her boss would come over and tell me how much it was language barrier. I have never had such a rude mean person. She kept grabbing my hands, shoving them down, was so rude to me. It was awful everything she wanted was more money piled onto what I was getting. I had never been so frustrated in my whole life most places have set prices. This woman treated me so bad. I went out and cried when I left. She was mean to Me and talked about me constantly to another worker and then a customer came to me and said this is what they're saying about you. I went in to get my feet and nails done. Application of my nails was so bad I got gel X and the gel went past the nail into my cuticles,was very mess application. Another client came into the store and tapped on the techs should requesting for them to fix a nail. In which the techs said they were almost finished and rushed through my design process. I asked and paid high dollar for a design in which it was very poorly done and messy as well. So much so that the nail polish built up at the bottom of my nails making them way thicker than intended to be. Nail polish and glitter was smeared all over the nail. Overall I spent $180 and ended up having to go to another location to get my nails fixed afterwards for an additional $100, because they were so horrible. I would not recommend this location. I am very disappointed with the time and money wasted.

My experiences at Sunny Nails in Benbrook have unfortunately been very hit or miss over the past…read moreseveral visits. The male owner is wonderful--he is skilled, attentive, and consistently does excellent work. When he does my nails, they are shaped properly, comfortable, and durable. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for two other technicians who work there. Both women appear to have very limited understanding of English and rely on the owner to translate. This became a serious problem during my appointments. When I visibly winced from pain, they would smile and nod rather than stop or adjust what they were doing. Despite obvious discomfort and repeated attempts on my part to communicate--both verbally and through clear hand gestures--they continued working incorrectly. My nails were visibly crooked, yet they seemed unable or unwilling to recognize the problem. Even after I demonstrated what was wrong, they repeatedly filed the short sides of my nails, making them even more uneven. I had to stop them over and over again, which made the experience stressful and frustrating. During my last visit, I was again assigned one of these two technicians. Despite me clearly explaining that the owner never files the top of my nails with the drill, that I did not want that done, and that it affects how well my dip nails hold up, she continued to do it anyway. Either she did not understand or she did not remember--yet she would not acknowledge either possibility. I eventually had to physically pull my hand away when she came at my nails again with the drill on the top surface. I later had to file my own nails just to get the ends straight across. At that point, I decided I would never allow either of those two technicians to work on my nails again and specifically booked my next appointment with the owner. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done. Just two weeks after that last appointment, my middle and ring (third) fingernails on my right hand completely popped off--and took layers of my natural nail with them. I genuinely want to support this salon because the owner does excellent work. However, the inconsistency in skill level, inability to communicate, and disregard for client comfort by other staff members is a serious issue. Until that is addressed, I cannot confidently recommend allowing anyone other than the owner to perform services here.
