I scheduled an appointment on OpenCare. They called me back a couple times which I unfortunately missed. I did call them multiple times to book an appointment. When I finally got through (after multiple attempts, different times during the day), the lady on the phone was aggressive, implying my fault I couldn't that when she called and couldn't reach me. Should've been the first red flag. I said I'm still interested in an appointment for cleaning and general check up. I mentioned I found them through OpenCare. Her verbatim to me, "Oh no. No OpenCare. We don't take open care. No more" I told her it shouldn't matter if I found them through OpenCare or not. I also mentioned I was interested in using insurance benefits with 100% coverage. Plus assuming they provided good services, I would come back as a long term patient. Guess they don't really understand the Customer Lifetime Value in dental practices. Who jumps through multiple dentist's anyway?! Our conversation turned short as soon as I mentioned Open Cafe. She dismissed the conversation and hung up rather quickly. The dental practitioners probably provides decent dental care. Too bad it's hard to experience their service considering their front office lacks skills required for patient facing and customer service. Would NOT RECOMMEND based on this interaction alone.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating, I always feel like my teeth are cleaned properly and that they are looking out for me, and they make sure to remind me when I have an appointment. I started going to Dr Yu after my other dentist missed a HUGE problem that had been going on for years. The damage in the end was quite bad and I required surgery. No one noticed it until I came here, and they helped me fix it. That deserves 5 stars alone. Location is in Bridlewood mall, by the library, in that hallway past the food court.

This is a one dentist operation. She does everything with an assistant. I was impressed that she answered the phone herself. We had a brief conversation where she asked some questions and I was told to bring any medications and come a bit earlier to fill out the requisite new patient paperwork. No problem. My appointment was for 12:30 pm so I arrived at 12:15. She already had a patient in the chair and I waited about 30 minutes before they came out, again, no problem. What happened next was a bit more concerning. I have benefit coverage through my company so I showed them the card. I also have coverage through my spouse, showed that card too. I was thinking that the dentist would go through the forms I completed and then I would get an examination, some x-rays and then a cleaning. No, this was not what happened....I was asked what was covered on my plan (they have a sheet with all the procedures listed and wanted me to fill it out) and of course who remembers everything? After this it gets more bizarre. They become very preoccupied with the benefit coverage to the point where they both, yes the dentist too, calls the insurance companies I have coverage through and proceed to go through their list to find out what the coverage was. This is very odd since my insurance company would not give out this type of information without consent of the person covered. At one point I even offered to pay up front to move things along and then I would take care of the billing later but nooooo....they needed to confirm themselves. I finally had to leave after almost 1.5 hours. I did not expect to be there that long. The widest I opened my mouth was to answer questions that I had already answered on the new patient information forms. I didn't even make into the dentist chair....after almost 1.5 hours! A full 30 minutes after I left the dentist called and left me a message to tell me they have full confirmation from both insurance companies and look forward to having me a patient...really?!?! They seem like lovely people but first impressions of the business side just wasn't good.

Flash forward to today, I was immediately put at ease when I walked into Upper Village Dental because felt the friendliness of the staff. During my teeth cleaning appointment, Lexi ensured that I felt comfortable the whole time, and her communication skills are impeccable! I can see why all of the reviews for this place are GLOWING. I'm so glad that I found this clinic & I can see myself coming back here on a regular basis.

Overdue review…read more Upper Village Dental Care is a great place to visit for all your dental needs. My first few visits was with dental hygienist Shawna( sorry if I misspelled it). She was absolutely phenomenal! I returned because of her. She then went on maternity leave and Ashley took over the appointments. I was surprised, she was also amazing! Both of them have a great personality and did a great job. There's TV's on the ceiling, the place seems very clean. Dr. Peter helped me out with my remaining appointments and although I was nervous, he did a great job. I highly recommend this place. And who doesn't want to do a yelp check in for a free teeth whitening gel?

Had my wisdom teeth removed here in the beginning. They took their time to explain and go over everything and made sure I was ok with it. They even contacted my insurance to get an estimate before they went ahead, so I knew how much I was going to pay. Even for doing some x-rays, your insurance may not cover it, but the receptionist made sure by calling them up before it was taken. Very good experienced and awesome staff. They always do a good job and never disappoint. They are located along 14th Ave. in a commercial area. Never hard to find parking. The place is cozy and nice. When you book an appointment they always call 3-4 days earlier to confirm. Almost never have to wait to be seen as well. PS. you also get a free toothbrush and floss after every cleaning!!
