It wasn't a pleasant experience the first time. And my results were not sent until about a month and a half later to my doctor once I keep inquiring about the results. I most recently went for my 20 week ultrasound of my baby which my husband and I were excited for (this is our first baby and first experience). Once arriving I kindly asked the lady not to tell us what the gender of the baby is if she is able to see it while doing measurements of the baby. We asked if she finds the gender to please write it down so we could present it during our gender reveal later this week. The lady was quick to say "that's not my job and don't know why people come there wanting to know the gender" she then proceeded to keep saying it's not her job and once I became emotional and crying on the table after feeling like a criminal for asking the gender to be a surprise, she continued to proceed with the ultrasound. Never paused, asked if I was alright or offer a tissue or anything. I finally regrouped and decided I wasn't going to let this ruin our experience of seeing our child! So I tried to ask questions about what we were seeing since she wasn't explaining it. She let out a deep breath and acted bothered that I asked questions. Eventually she started to share what we were seeing, and did place a picture of the baby's gender in an envelope. I asked my husband if it was the hormones and if I was over emotional. He said no, and said the same thing. I will not be returning there and we will pay out of pocket to go somewhere else regardless of the price because of the experience we had.

The nurses often seem indifferent or dismissive, making my mom feel unheard, and at times, it's as if they assume she's exaggerating. They hook her up and disappear, often huddled together rather than attending to patients. The doctor takes a long time to arrive, and it lacks the compassionate care you'd expect. I strongly encourage hospital leadership--HR or administration--to investigate this department and ensure patients are treated with the respect and attention they deserve.

The Nurses, CNA's, Therapists, Food service all were attentive, kind and compassionate to my dad. It was almost like being with family. One of the Therapists knew my dad liked Bluegrass music and after his shift played my dad a couple of songs on the guitar. It totally made his day! The food service lady talked with dad about local stores and a few people they both knew. The Nurses and CNA's would just stop by to say hello when they were assigned to other rooms. They helped us by practicing with us getting dad in and out of the car. We needed to know the correct way to do this! The Doctor and other staff were also so caring and helpful. We could not have asked for a better experience. We highly appreciate and recommend Wauchula Hospital!

Inconsistent experience with scheduling and systems down. I have gone here for several years and My…read moreexperience with the actual technicians and office have always been efficient and easy. The scheduling line today was very challenging. The first call not great news, however professionally handled, I was asked to call back as the systems were down. The second call I was told they did not have my orders in the system. Understandable. However as I read off the information on my orders from the doctor, I was asked for ccp codes (really how would I know that when there is nothing on the order that states CCP code). Then I was told that the code for a mammogram and the assessment code didn't match and I had to call my doctor and get it revised and they could not schedule the mammogram.This order form looks exactly the same as every order form I have copies of. Then when I pressed I was told by the scheduling agent that she was not incompetent (words never used by me) and that she was sending me to someone else which of course rang until I was disconnected. The third call was more professional and I was able to schedule my mammogram with only a little pushback i.e. has to be scheduled after 365 days. Which I had to explain ( as I did last year ) that is not the case with my insurance and I understand that is the case with many insurance providers and that's why the scheduler must state that.
