It seemed like they cleaned the vents and did a decent enough job. I showed up about halfway through and when I got there he seemed to be in better spirits and friendlier. I asked some questions about concerns we had and maintenance and the man obliged in answering but was dismissive about it. The cleaning was fairly priced so I would recommend for regular maintenance but if you're wanting good attention to detail for something that's been left for a while you might want to shop around

They quit making the style of brick we had, but 4GM matched it up with something very close. When we inventoried all the repairs and touchups over the years, the brickwork from 4GM was the best bang for the buck by far.

James did a thorough cleanup and inspection of the fireplace and chimney. As he started to notice some potential issues, he asked if we had attic access so he could do an even deeper inspection. Unfortunately we found some previously completed roof work compromised the integrity of the flue so he strongly discouraged continued use until a suitable fix was put in place. Although this isn't something he does, he gave me a few options to send me in the right direction. Obviously it wasn't great news but i'm happy to have received the information. The guy I spoke with asked me to describe the problem and send him some photos, then was able to diagnose the problem and tell me which part I need to order. A few days later the part arrived and I was able to install it myself thanks to his instructions. He saved me weeks of waiting and what would have easily been a few hundred dollars in service fees. One company came out and told me needed to replace the "box" and clean the ducts for $3800, however there's no way the box can be replaced without tearing open walls. Austin Breeze showed up and confirmed no way to change the box but cleaned all the components, the area, identified another need that we missed (need cleanout line cleaned).
