I contacted this company to look at my chimney. The technician not only cleaned my chimney beautifully, he educated me on how a chimney functions and how to take care of it. Kevin is a class act from start to finish. His quotes are honest and his willingness to work with you on scheduling is amazing. Every chimney has a silver lining. Five stars. Highly recommended. read more

Silver Lining is the perfect example of shopping local and small for upkeep and repairs and Kevin did a wonderful job cleaning our chimney. He also took the time to explain everything he was doing and why and got the job done in about an hour. We're new homeowners with a fireplace for the first time and greatly benefited from his honesty and tips on how to continue to care for a part of our home. Who better to hire for preventing fire and home fire damage than a retired firefighter?! We have been using this same company and person for the 5 years we have lived here and will be recommending him to the new home owners in our neighborhood. read more

Could not ask for better! Kevin was kind, educational, efficient and got us right back to working order with our gas fireplace. Easy to schedule the appointment (put in request via Yelp and then managed via text) and absolutely a great value for what he charges. read more

Silver Lining Chimney Sweep - Toasty fireplace in great shape thanks to Silver Lining - Chimney Sweeps Near Me

He did an amazing job repairing my gas fireplace. He went through a difficult process to repair the old parts

The Good: :: it's a local business! :: very prompt with communication :: Kevin has got serious street cred. look at the website for the full gamut but the gist is: he used to be a firefighter, he knows all about fire safety, he's a member of the Texas Chimney Sweep Guild, he's been certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), and the list goes on and on. totally trust him with his many years of expertise (over 30 in chimney service and dryer vent) to know what he's talking about :: takes multiple forms of payment (Venmo, etc) :: wears shoe protectors for when he is inside the home working so there's no dirty shoes tracking all around your home :: leaves everything clean after he is done :: doesn't try to oversell...he explained to me how i can avoid further stressing the back ceramic plate protector (don't let hot flaming logs touch it), and that i have quite a while before the cracked plate needs replacing (a previous service provider told me it would need replacing within a couple of years) :: leaves you with a detailed report of his findings The Ugly: :: none The Ugly: :: none Would I go back? Definitely yes! Using him every time now for my chimney/fireplace cleaning needs. This place is IN. read more

Kevin was prompt and professional. Would definitely recommend using Silver Lining. Look forward to using them again.

At Silver Lining Chimney Sweeps, Kevin is an extremely helpful expert. We previously had a chimney sweep clean our system, but our gas fireplace built up soot on the inside of the glass. Because Kevin's business is thriving, he was booked for the next 2 months. Nevertheless, he advised how we could adjust the air intake and solve the problem ourselves. Given Kevin's professional and expert approach, he will be our first call for all future fireplace services. read more

We have always called Silver Lining for our chimney. He is a very professional & knowledgeable person about all things fireplace. We won't call anyone else!! Please call & get your fireplace inspected! After the Icepocalypse of 2021, we really needed a service. He was done in 30 minutes. Chimney sweeps are a rare breed, and very much needed if you love to have a fire all winter!! Thank you for another great season to look forward to! We will see you in 2024! read more

I've never had my dryer vent cleaned out which, let me just say, is a really bad idea! I've been in this house for almost 30 yrs so.....yea. I called Silver Lining on a Friday and heard back from Kevin to make an appointment really fast. Kevin was absolutely on time, he was very professional, his fee was in line with most others in town but the best part was that even though my vent lint was atrocious, he didn't shame me about it! He just suggested that maybe not waiting so long would be a good plan. I will absolutely call him again for the chimney sweeping in a few months! I recommend Kevin without reservation. read more

For the past 10 days or so I've been dealing with a chimney situation caused by raccoon damage. I didn't even know how to proceed in hiring someone to work on my chimney. I called many, many people trying to learn enough to handle things. Kevin called me back and helped me understand the situation. Kevin is the most kind and professional person I've talked to in many years. My home is outside of his service area, and Kevin recommended a contractor and helped me immeasurably. I wanted to write this review for Kevin and for anyone on Yelp who needs chimney work! You will be fortunate if you can hire Kevin! read more

Great experience! Our chimney hadn't been cleaned in 20+ years so we were very worried. Kevin quickly cleaned it and was even able to fix the glass doors. We thought for sure those doors would need to be replaced and probably masonry work too. Nope, not after Silver Lining took care of us. read more

He did such a great job and kept everything so clean! Friendly too!!! We will definitely be using him again.

Kevin is the best! Extremely knowledgeable and professional. He helped us with a fireplace on our patio. A simple fix saved us lots of money other companies wanted to charge. He then checked our fireplace inside and showed us the best way to operate it. I cannot recommend him enough! read more

Amazing customer service! Super friendly and a pleasure to work with.

We don't have a fireplace but our dryer wasn't doing very well last year and since the house was six years old we thought a vent cleaning would be in order. The appointment was easy to get, the next day if I remember correctly. He was efficient and thorough. Told me I have a weird 'U' in my vent going up around a beam so that was causing some backup. He was very nice about the trouble and I wonder if the guys we bought the house from had ever cleaned their lint screen. He was done in less than an hour. Turns out the dryer was broken but at least we had a clean vent! read more

I've never used a chimney sweep before but after moving into a house with a huge fire place that had been used a lot, I knew we needed one. I read some reviews on yelp and did some research on prices and Silver Lining stood out. Kevin told me that even though he doesn't usually cover as far south as I live that he was doing some old repeat customers nearby and could fit me in. Not only was he really nice, he was to the point and clear about the prices and services. On the day of the cleaning he texted me to see if he could come by earlier, which was totally not a problem. It was actually refreshing for someone to show up early to a job for a change. He came in and introduced himself and got right to work. It was really cool to see the process and you can tell he does this often as he was very methodical and professional. Before I knew it, the chimney was clean and he was on his way. All things considered it was well worth the price, and now the chimney is working and looking better than ever. read more

I contacted Kevin because the fireplace in our house had only been used once-- fifteen years ago. I had been bugging my husband every winter for the three years we've been married to start using it again, but we weren't sure what condition it was in after sitting unused for so long. Kevin confirmed the appointment the day before, and showed up right on time. He inspected the fireplace and advised me that everything was in great shape and he wasn't going to charge the full price (which was still very reasonable) because it didn't need to be deep-cleaned. It was great to have someone who is honest with you about what does and doesn't need to be done. He was very courteous and gave a few pointers since we have a small mobile home fireplace. I would definitely recommend Silver Lining, and we will be contacting him for our future fireplace needs. Side Note: It was nice that he came all the way out to Liberty Hill! read more

Called, got a quote over the phone for chimney inspection/cleaning, booked my appointment and couldn't be happier about this company. Kevin sent me a text the morning of my appointment as a reminder and he arrived at the exact time he promised (the exact minute)! He was very nice and even taught me a few things I did not know about fireplaces. He inspected the fireplace & chimney, cleaned it and was out the door in less than an hour. $150 plus tax for inspection & cleaning. I've called around and that is pretty average AND you get great service with a smile. :) read more

Excellent service and great customer service. Scheduled an appointment for a chimney cleaning as we have never had this done since owning the house. Kevin arrived for our appointment on-time, he examined the chimney, asked some questions and then informed me that a full cleaning was not needed (used 3-5 times a year). He recommended cleaning up the gas logs and rearranging them for better heat distribution and arrangement. He only charged for minimal times and was very courtesy. I have no doubt I will use Silver Lining in the future as well as recommend them to others. read more

Easy to schedule and good communication leading up to the appointment. Kevin was wonderful and helpful. I expected to need my chimney cleaned as the home was a newer purchase and other aspects of the house needed major repairs and renovation. Kevin very politely told me that it was actually pretty clean and walked me through the ins and outs of proper chimney maintenance and best practices to avoid smoke from leaking out of the fireplace. He provided a visual inspection of the interior and exterior chimney and fireplace, oiled the sliding guard as it stuck in a few places and explained which wood was best for burning. I am very happy I had him inspect my chimney and fireplace and will happily refer others to him call him again when the time comes to have it inspected again and/or cleaned. read more

Highly recommend! I have lived in my home for several years and had not had my chimney cleaned, nor inspected. I had contacted several Austin area chimney sweep companies to get estimates of the service. Out of all of them, Kevin was always professional and prompt in responding to me. After reading many reviews and my phone interactions with the other companies, I choose to go with his service. Kevin arrived exactly when he stated he would (also sending a text reminder of the appointment). The service and cleaning provided was excellent (I have brand new carpet and all precautions were taken to make sure it stayed that way). I even learned about some of the features of my fireplace to make its utilization more enjoyable. I will definitely be calling Silver Lining back for continual cleanings of my fireplace. read more
