I needed to have my data transferred to the new phone so I went to Victra (a Verizon store) at 4753 Route 80 East in Savannah, Georgia, spoke with David and Brandy (the store manager) to see if they would transfer the data to a new phone even if I wasn't going to purchase it there. They said no, but they said they were having a special on the Google Pixel 7 phone and it would only cost $350. (As I would come to find out, they were NOT having a special on the phone). Thinking that there was only a $15 difference, I decided to buy it at the store. I was not on any committed plan (it's month-to-month) and explicitly stated that did not want to be on any plan as a result of this transaction. I specifically said "ANY plan". They verified that I would NOT be on a plan. The return period was 30 days. The next bill that came did not have any new transactions on it, but that was because the cycle had closed before I bought the phone. It wasn't until a couple of weeks later that I received the next bill that showed a $10 finance charge. I called the store repeatedly but was always redirected to a call center. Not once did anyone at the store answer. I drove back out to the store and asked David about the line item. He told me that the first month will show a $10 charge and the second month will show another $10 charge, but there will be a $20 credit on it as well. David said that every month thereafter, the bill will show a $10 charge with a $10 credit. Since it was a wash, I thought it was fine and started driving home. As I was driving home, I realized that there was some amount that was being financed, which would lock me into something of which I was not informed. I drove back to the store and asked David about it, and he said that $370 was being financed. He said the phone cost $720 but with a $370 discount, the price came out to $350. What he neglected to tell me was that the $370 discount was locking me in where I won't be able to change my phone without being responsible for the balance. After speaking with David and Brandy, they said that there was nothing that they would do. Now I m locked into a 3-year financing plan where I cannot change anything about my phone without incurring a large penalty. This was clearly a very sneaky way of selling me a phone and I can't believe that the store manager would allow such a shady transaction- she was there during the entire initial transaction. They disregarded what I asked for as far as plans go so that they could benfit from a financed amount. The BBB closed the complaint because Victra didn't respond.

Thankfully, I found this well-established business via Yelp, which, as an FYI, is no longer serving at this particular location. I had expected my laptop to be out for repairs for at least two weeks, but Jack handled everything in less than a week, and even the original cost estimate was lower than previously discussed. He was always courteous and took the time to answer any questions or concerns I had. My laptop is now back to a battery life of 5+ hours. Thanks again!

We have left positive reviews for this UPS Store in the past. But..... On Friday, January 26, 2024, we brought two expensive MG overdrive transmissions for this UPS Store to pack. Both transmissions were shipped via UPS to Wisconsin and South Carolina, respectively. Both transmissions were damaged. We filed a claim with our insurer, who denied the claim on the basis that the transmissions were not adequately packed. This time around, this UPS Store packed at least one of these transmissions, which weigh 105 pounds, in a box with a gross load limit of 65 pounds (!) with inadequate packing material inside. There are several new people at this store; perhaps this is the explanation for the poor job they did. We left the paperwork (which included photos of the obliterated package, our receipt for the packages from this UPS Store, and the letter from our insurer denying our claim) with the UPS Store for Jonathan four days ago and asked him to call us. Their liability for this damage is clear as a matter of law - we have checked with our lawyers. Jonathan has not called us to discuss this matter as we requested. We read the complaints about his store on social media, and saw that he was very responsive to those complaints - hence, this review. There is a window to take care of this matter outside of court in Wisconsin and South Carolina, but that window is rapidly closing. Jonathan, we hope you read this review and contact us ASAP. We will gladly remove this review should you resolve this matter properly. UPDATE: Jonathan B. Boothe, the owner, has not contacted us despite our many attempts to communicate with him. We have turned this matter over to our lawyer to sue the store and its owners. Very sad to have such an unresponsive and uncaring proprietor. We are extremely disappointed in Jonathan and will not be using any of his UPS Stores in Savannah. We've attached photos of the transmission as it arrived so that the world can see what a piss poor job this store - which actually advertises its ability to handle packages like this - did packing this transmission. Absolutely pathetic. Buyer beware.
