After hours of panic and eye rubbing I realized I needed help. Since I was in town for one night I frantically googled for help. After a phone call early in the morning, she respectively returned the call and came to my rescue (on her day off). My father drove me to her office since I couldn't open my eyes. She quickly assessed the situation and was able to give me drops to ease the sensitivity so I could open my eye. She helped comfort me In my panic and eased my pain. I stopped by here without an appointment just to look at their abundant glasses frames that were varied, unique and different. I was graciously greeted with a beautiful smile by Shara Chaney. She introduced herself and asked how she could me? I informed her of my mission and she went about the store pulling at least 40 different frames as per my needs and not once rolled her eyes as to my uncertainty. For over 45 minutes, Shara pulled, cleaned, gave a candid opinion on how they looked on my face (I asked her to be honest). My wife even joined in on the fun. I wish I had an employee like this in my medical practice; a delightful and helpful person who puts the patient first. She wrote down the frame measurements, price and model numbers for me. Upon returning home, I need to look at my prescription to make sure they will work in the sized frames. She assured me that they can ship the frames to me in Arizona. In today's society you are told to get your eyes examined at Walmart, Costco or America's Best. I don't want to drive the same car as everyone else. I want what makes me happy. Shara gets it! Thank you for your help and treating me as an individual first and treating my insurance second. VERY IMPRESSIVE!

    There were so many standout moments during my visit to the America's Best at 7400 Abercorn Street…read morein Savannah, GA. Even though the store was super busy when I arrived, I was immediately greeted with a warm "Hi! We'll be right with you!" by a sweet Black woman who I believe may have been the manager. Her energy set the tone for the rest of my visit. Within a minute, a young woman with the cutest strawberry blonde Afro puffs called me to the counter. I explained that I was there for an eye exam using my TRICARE insurance. She wasn't entirely sure how the TRICARE process worked, so she checked with the manager. At the time, I wasn't clear on the difference between TRICARE Prime and TRICARE East, not realizing they're essentially the same. The manager clarified that they accept TRICARE East, and despite my confusion, they still offered me a same-day appointment--which was so convenient! When I returned later for my appointment, I let the manager know that TRICARE East does, in fact, include Prime coverage. She smiled and said, "Wow! You actually taught ME something today!" I appreciated how open and gracious she was. During the pre-screening, I was helped by a woman wearing the cutest cowboy boots, and we bonded briefly over our mutual love for them. Then it was time for the actual exam with Dr. Ishika Patel--and WOW. Not only was she incredibly thorough, but she knew her stuff. Dr. Patel was young, personable, and explained every detail about my vision in a way that made sense. She never rushed me, even with a packed office, and completely changed my perception of America's Best. I had always thought of it as a quick, basic option, but she truly made it feel like a top-tier experience. And then there was Gavin. Sweet, funny, and blessed with the patience of Job, Gavin went way above and beyond. When my TRICARE dependent ID didn't have the information he needed to process my insurance, he didn't give up. Instead, Gavin personally called TRICARE and spent what felt like an eternity on the phone with an incredibly unhelpful rep--repeating his questions patiently and professionally at least six or seven times. He even searched the TRICARE website to find a reimbursement form for me, just in case. Only later did I find out that Gavin doesn't even work at the front--his actual job is in the back of the office! I was so grateful I asked if I could hug him. Thanks to this team, my husband and I have officially found our go-to location for all things vision-related. The care, patience, and kindness I received at this America's Best location was far beyond what I expected, and I can't recommend them enough.
