When I took it to the AT&T store (my provider) they were less than helpful. I called uBreakiFix and spoke to Mike. He told me that if I brought in another version of the phone he could switch out the board and he could retrieve all my contacts and pictures. I took my damaged phone into the store along with an older version of my simple phone and not only was Mike able to resurrect it, he was able to retrieve everything. He was so nice and patient and he was just as helpful as he could be. I'm taking all my devices there from now on. I highly recommend them...they go above and beyond for their customers. I haven't been treated like such a valued customer in God knows how long!

    I went to this store about five months ago, January 2026, because my screen needed repair. They…read moreasked me if I wanted the low quality screen, the good quality screen (comparable to Apple but much cheaper) or the Apple screen. I said I wanted the middle option. That is what I paid for. As soon as I got my phone back (4 hours later- keep this in mind for later in the story), I knew something was wrong. It was shutting off all the time, the brightness didn't work correctly, and my front camera was awful quality. I am somewhat shy and don't like confrontation and I do not want to be THAT person that complains and makes an employee's day harder... so I just told myself to live with it and did not go back and complain. Fast forward to today, May 15th 2026. I broke my screen again and took it somewhere else. When the employee at the other store looked at my phone, he automatically said "you have gotten this replaced before?" because he could tell right off the bat that my screen was not the quality it should have been, had they really given me that "high quality" screen. He starts repairing it and tells me that uBreakiFix did not even put the main screws back in my phone! I have been walking around for FIVE MONTHS without the correct screws in my phone because they screwed it up (pun not intended). He also said he commonly has complaints of people coming from the uBreakiFix store, leaving with a phone more messed up than when they started. At the new store, he finished my phone in no joke five minutes so I am not sure why uBreakiFix needed four hours... to do the wrong thing. Long story short, do not go here and make the same mistake I did. Absolutely not worth the money or time.

I have now been helped by Average Joe on three occasions, all for separate issues and different devices. My most recent visit was today after I had to go back to Best Buys three times after I bought my new IPad. The "Geek Squad" was finally able to transfer most of my data, including emails and files after three visits, but could not transfer the texts that I had before I bought the IPad. Text are an essential part of my business and being able to look at my clients' history is vital. Joe was able to figure out that it was a syncing problem caused by an encryption issue. Joe went to battle with it and did in a couple of hours, what the "Geek Squad" was unable to do in what seemed to be an eternity across three visits. Joe is resourceful, tenacious and thorough. While I was there today, an elderly couple came in and I knew they would be in good hands. I know because I sent my 84 year old mother to them when I was out of town, when she had a meltdown on her phone. They were able to go through the whole boot up of the phone with her even though my mother didn't know her passwords, usernames, etc. They were able to explain things to her in a way that she could understand and they were extremely patient. I think that is one of the best service qualities they have, they are genuinely patient and helpful. Those are qualities that are hard to find these days. I recommend Average Joe 100% on every level that I can think of. I have written very few reviews in my days, but this is one that is a pleasure to pen. - Luis B

    Avoid at all costs. 0 stars if I could. This place destroyed my laptop…read more I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so bad that I feel obligated to warn others. On a Friday, I brought my MacBook Pro to Average Joe for a simple battery replacement. I clearly explained that I needed it back by Sunday because I had class on Monday. They assured me this was no problem and might even be done the same day. I picked it up Saturday afternoon and immediately discovered that my laptop would not charge while the lid was closed -- an issue that did not exist before. When I returned as soon as they opened Sunday morning, I was met with zero apology or urgency despite explaining how critical it was that I have my laptop ready for school. Hours passed with no update. When I finally reached out myself, the technician admitted the issue existed but said he couldn't fix it and asked me to wait until the "MacBook specialist" came in the next day -- after they had already held my laptop all weekend. If they had communicated this sooner, I would have taken my computer elsewhere. When I went to retrieve my laptop and request a refund, I was ignored for about 20 minutes while other customers were helped. Instead of simply returning my device, the technician decided -- without asking -- to install a different battery minutes before closing. When I finally got my laptop back, I immediately heard loud clanking noises from inside the machine, and the screen displayed a brand-new error message: "Battery Service Recommended." At this point, my laptop was in FAR worse condition than when I brought it in. When I raised this, I was told nothing more could be done and that they hadn't done anything to damage my device. The technician then claimed that any damage they cause is a "liability I agree to" simply by bringing my device in -- despite the fact that I never signed a contract, was never shown any written policy, and never saw any sign stating this in the store. I was then falsely accused of bringing the laptop in with that error already on the screen, which is completely untrue. I spoke with the owner, who was dismissive, spoke over me, and repeatedly said, "What do you want me to do about it?" This business showed no accountability, no professionalism, and no respect for a customer's time or property. I ultimately had to replace my laptop entirely because of the damage done here. I would not trust this place with an iPod. If you value your devices, go anywhere else. If you absolutely must use them, document the condition of your device thoroughly before handing it over.
