Joe and his technicians have been a godsend for my friends, family and myself. A close friend in my same type of business recommended Average Joe and I couldn't be more pleased. I have now been helped by Average Joe on three occasions, all for separate issues and different devices. My most recent visit was today after I had to go back to Best Buys three times after I bought my new IPad. The "Geek Squad" was finally able to transfer most of my data, including emails and files after three visits, but could not transfer the texts that I had before I bought the IPad. Text are an essential part of my business and being able to look at my clients' history is vital. Joe was able to figure out that it was a syncing problem caused by an encryption issue. Joe went to battle with it and did in a couple of hours, what the "Geek Squad" was unable to do in what seemed to be an eternity across three visits. Joe is resourceful, tenacious and thorough. While I was there today, an elderly couple came in and I knew they would be in good hands. I know because I sent my 84 year old mother to them when I was out of town, when she had a meltdown on her phone. They were able to go through the whole boot up of the phone with her even though my mother didn't know her passwords, usernames, etc. They were able to explain things to her in a way that she could understand and they were extremely patient. I think that is one of the best service qualities they have, they are genuinely patient and helpful. Those are qualities that are hard to find these days. Avoid at all costs. 0 stars if I could. This place destroyed my laptop. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so bad that I feel obligated to warn others. On a Friday, I brought my MacBook Pro to Average Joe for a simple battery replacement. I clearly explained that I needed it back by Sunday because I had class on Monday. They assured me this was no problem and might even be done the same day. I picked it up Saturday afternoon and immediately discovered that my laptop would not charge while the lid was closed -- an issue that did not exist before. When I returned as soon as they opened Sunday morning, I was met with zero apology or urgency despite explaining how critical it was that I have my laptop ready for school. Hours passed with no update. When I finally reached out myself, the technician admitted the issue existed but said he couldn't fix it and asked me to wait until the "MacBook specialist" came in the next day -- after they had already held my laptop all weekend. If they had communicated this sooner, I would have taken my computer elsewhere. When I went to retrieve my laptop and request a refund, I was ignored for about 20 minutes while other customers were helped. Instead of simply returning my device, the technician decided -- without asking -- to install a different battery minutes before closing. When I finally got my laptop back, I immediately heard loud clanking noises from inside the machine, and the screen displayed a brand-new error message: "Battery Service Recommended." At this point, my laptop was in FAR worse condition than when I brought it in. When I raised this, I was told nothing more could be done and that they hadn't done anything to damage my device. The technician then claimed that any damage they cause is a "liability I agree to" simply by bringing my device in -- despite the fact that I never signed a contract, was never shown any written policy, and never saw any sign stating this in the store. I was then falsely accused of bringing the laptop in with that error already on the screen, which is completely untrue. I spoke with the owner, who was dismissive, spoke over me, and repeatedly said, "What do you want me to do about it?" This business showed no accountability, no professionalism, and no respect for a customer's time or property. I ultimately had to replace my laptop entirely because of the damage done here. I would not trust this place with an iPod. If you value your devices, go anywhere else. If you absolutely must use them, document the condition of your device thoroughly before handing it over. read more

Promptly fixed the problem just talking to me for free. My screen seemed to be broken or not updated but they told me how toreboot it.

Unfortunately, Average Joe infected all of my technology...my laptop, iPad, phone, apps, and iCloud. (Can no longer even easily use my language apps.) Apple experts couldn't fix it. AJ infected my photo library so badly that I no longer have a functional one on my MacBook Pro. I can't import any of the pictures on my Iphone into a photo library, so they remain solely in my phone. I can no longer attach a photo to a document. I bought a new phone and MacBook Pro after the meltdown, but they were both immediately infected before they even left the store. This will probably be a life sentence that will follow me the rest of my life. When I took the original laptop to the Apple store, they told me that they knew all about AJ. He frequently took client's iPhones to the store to fix them when he didn't know how to. Then he charged the customer as if he had done it himself. He seems like a nice young man, but his inexperience has cost me years of tears and frustration. I wish him well, but I don't want anyone else to have to endure such an ongoing nightmare as I have. read more

called asurion First and they wasnt even able to take my phone in for repair today, so I called Average Joe's to see if he could get me in to fix my screen and he was able to fix my issue over the phone. great service. great guy. great experience. if you're in the area, I definitely recommend average joes over anyone else in the area. thanks average joe! read more
