Custom Little Mermaid cake for an aquarium birthday
Samantha S.

I celebrated my daughter's fifth birthday at the Long Island Aquarium and I was looking for a Little Mermaid themed cake to have at our lunch after. I contacted Celeste Bakery since they were close to the aquarium and I am so happy I did! They prepared a spectacular themed cake that was exceptionally delicious. I've ordered special birthday cakes from a number of renowned Long Island bakeries and this was by the far the best. My daughter loves strawberries and they made a strawberry flavored cake with whipped cream and fresh strawberry filling. My family is still talking about it! I reached out to them again when I was planning a Summer Olympics event and they again went above and beyond by preparing an amazing themed cake and themed individually wrapped cookie favors. They were able to do Red, White, & Blue layers inside the cake again with fresh strawberries. I look forward to our next family event so I can order from them again!

The most beautiful and DELICIOUS sponge cake with custard and fruit on top

I googled bakeries closest to me after shopping at Tánger right before Christmas. They thankfully had Christmas cookie platters and I was delighted to see an absolutely gorgeous selection of cookies, cakes and breads, and much more. So so SO glad I stumbled across this bakery. Thank you for making such delicious treats!

Dry moldy fruit

I bought a tres leches cake and the fruit was old and dry and started to mold. When I talked to the manager they told me that their is nothing that they can do for me. They can't switch out the cake give me a refund nothing. This is ridiculous and just downright shamefull.

I noticed this bakery when we went to the UPS store next door, tummies rumbling because we'd rushed out to run errands without eating breakfast yet again. Wasn't sure if it would be any good since we were in a Riverhead strip mall, but plenty of Latinos were going in, so I figured it must be legit. Sent hubby in to pick up breakfast while baby and I stayed behind in the car, and he came back with tres leche cake, sweet bread, a cream-filled donut, and an orange crumbly pastry which looked like an empanada, but was actually filled with a vanilla cream and had the texture of a cookie. They satisfied our hunger pangs without being saccharine sweet.

There was a large selection of baked goods, so I got a black and white cookie, omelette and latte. Everything was just ok in terms of taste. I didn't realize the place was kosher either, so no meat. The place is nice but the outside seating could be cleaned more frequently.

I remember a case filled with just bread, and I think that they did cakes and some desserts, too. Now there's many more desserts as well as bread. Alas, the only gluten-free item is coconut macaroons. Hopefully they will add some gluten-free items in the future. Coffee selection was great. You pay at the counter and pour your own. It was later in the day, so I did half decaf and half hazelnut. Yum! We didn't get any food, because we had already had lunch. Service was good. We just ordered coffee cups and I asked about gluten-free items. The man who answered did seem regretful. I'm guessing that he's been asked many times before. I have a wheat allergy, and other people have gluten sensitivity, so perhaps some day they'll expand their offerings. In the meantime, I'll keep baking my own protein cookies and flatbread. I've found commercial gluten-free bagels and English muffins, woohoo!

A coworker recently asked me to bring back some cookies since she knew I was flying home to New York. When she said she wanted good quality cookies, I already knew exactly where I was headed: Alpine. Every time I walk into this place it somehow feels like the first time. Maybe it's the nostalgia from going there with my family for so many years, or maybe it's because it's still family-owned and truly has that warm, welcoming vibe. The people who work there are always so sweet, accommodating, and kind, which just adds to the experience. When anyone brings up rainbow cookies, Alpine is honestly the first place that comes to mind for me. They're the only ones I really go to for them. For my coworker, I picked up a pound of assorted cookies so she could try a little bit of everything. Selfishly, I was definitely thinking I should've ordered a box for myself too! She absolutely loved them, which came as no surprise. If you want truly great Italian cookies and pastries, Alpine Pastry Shoppe is the only place that comes to mind for me. I'm so happy to see that they're still open, and I truly hope they remain a neighborhood staple for many years to come.

The inside Rainbow cookie is moist and dense. The chocolate outside was one of the best chocolate hardened glaze I have had in quite some time. **This is a weekend item** The inside is full of temptation. I also grabbed Easter bread and a Crumb Cherry Pie. You can order ahead of time and slip past the line to pick up inside on the right side.
