Friends from out of town made a birthday visit to my apartment in Northville. They snuck out and bought a gift card at Celebrity Pets down the road. Today (Christmas Eve) my big black cat Barnabas and I went to check it out. We were welcomed with opened arms and given personal shopping help by Shauna. She helped us fit him with a harness that was less restrictive than most his size. Also found a substantial collar and a mouse toy. Highly recommend this business. Ownership has a love of animals and people, and is proud of where their products come from. I'll be back for sure. and so will Barnabas. read more

Came here during the Skeleton unveiling night in Northville this past fall. It happened to be my dog Oliver's birthday so I popped in to get him a treat to celebrate. I found the biggest, meatiest, bone that was literally the length of my forearm. He's 22lbs so watching him dig into this monstrous treat was very delightful. He loved it! And so did our other dog who had no birthday chill and "helped" him take that baby down. This shop also carries some cute doggie apparel, collars and harnesses plus a nice variety of treats, holistic foods, toys, medicines and grooming supplies for dogs and cats alike. It's not a huge shop in terms of footprint but they do pack in a lot of merchandise. I'd definitely pop back in if I were in the area for a puppy treat. read more

If you wish to spoil your dog, buy a baked treat from here. The store reminded me of a local chain back home. There were a large variety of treats in the display case and a few cakes. I came to purchase chew toys since the treats would crumble on the flight home. read more

The real celebrity at "Celebrity Pets" is the owner, who swear wears an invisible cape, Rose My guy Louis is a rescue from the Humane Society in Detroit off of 75. He was abused and we believe that contributes to his horrible separation anxiety. Rose has recommended CBD treats and I am starting to see improvement. We have 2 other dogs and Celebrity Pets has provided them with their food for years and will even drop it off, for free! Coming here in the first place shows how much you care for your animals and you will forever be a customer because of how Rose and her staff care for your fur babies. read more

I went in this store with one dog in a sling and another on a leash with my husband. I asked if it was ok to bring the dogs in the store. The person working the store was a little rude but said ok. I said to my husband make sure you watch the dog. A few minutes later my boy dog lifted his leg and started to pee. The girl behind the counter was nice and said that's okay and went to clean it up. The other employee said. I thought you told him to watch the dog. I guess if you own a pet store you have to figure things like this would happen. read more

Shauna is great with your pets and always willing to help you figure out what you are looking for. Your pets are always welcome, and they are really great about remembering you and your pets' needs. We have bought food from Celebrity Pets for years. All employees are very friendly and helpful. They carry big bags to my car. They also deliver to the Northville area for free. I don't use that service except in emergencies as my dogs like to go in and sniff around. I also like to support local businesses. read more

I came here for the first time around the holidays , and I will not be back! The owner is extremely rude and nasty. I could not believe the way I heard her speak to her employee! The employee was talking to another customer in the store, and the owner screamed her name in the middle of the store, pointed at the register and yelled "BAG!" I could not believe someone with such obvious personality and anger issues thought that going into customer service was a good career path for her. I have been going to CP since it opened, at that time for things like stainless steel bowls in a stand, leashes, dog stroller, apparel - winter coats - the occasional treat. When I experienced the worst nightmare of the illness of my dog, Rose and Rachel became angels in terms of educating me on supplements, special grain free, GMO free etc foods and the best--- Answers Goats Milk-- to other medicinal things. My dogs life is being extended and her quality of life improved by the knowledge they have as well as their product line. I can't be more grateful. Even at Christmas - they had Santa taking photos with your beloved pet. The care and kindness as well as the education these two provide is really the most compassionate care. It's more than a store. It's the must go to place if you own a pet. read more

We did frequent this store quite a bit and spent a lot of money here. Some of the products that we purchased in good faith were marked as "tough toys" failed the same day. When we brought it back the Owner exhibited poor customer service. Subsequent visits to the store, made it clear to us that she had a chip on her shoulder with us. She also made snide comments when we did return and was very rude. Apparently, she does not need or want our business, we will not be back! read more

Love this place. My puppy and I have been there every Saturday for the last 3 weeks. Staff and owner are very knowledgeable and accommodating. Being a first time large breed owner and practically puppy novice, it's nice to have friendly and caring people to talk to. Love that my Rottie pup can sniff his own treats out of baskets at his eye level. Freezer section with dozens of varieties of raw bones that are fantastic and the perfect "good boy" treat. All American made products are always a plus! read more

I cannot speak more highly of this place and the owner Rose. We rescued a new dog who has been sick since we got him 7 weeks ago. We have spent a lot of money at two different vets, antibiotics, new foods, etc. but nothing helped. We went to Celebrity Pets after a family member recommended her. Rose spent over an hour helping us, even after she was supposed to leave for the day. She recommended new food and probiotics and within 24 hours our dog's symptoms were less then they had been in the 7 weeks we have owned him. She has contacted us every day for the past week to check on our dog's progress. I count believe how much she cared about us and our dog's wellbeing. Rose is the most kind, caring and knowledgeable person when it comes to dogs. We were close to giving up and she has helped us immensely. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. read more

This store has some very nice stuff but no one came to help us out for the first 5-10 min we were there. The owner(we think) and the assistant were chatting with two other people when we entered and didn't break off at all to see who came in or what we were looking for. Finally one of the store staff stepped out when we were looking at dog coats. But they didn't have the right size. So we picked up some treats and headed to the counter and then stood at the counter for 5 minutes while they finished chatting with the people. We thought it was all good when she went behind the counter but before she could start ringing us up another patron walked in complaining about a doggie dress they just bought there, and instead of ringing us up or calling over another member of staff to help us, she left us waiting there for another few minutes before someone rang us up while she addressed the patrons concerns. We almost left the stuff and walked out before they finally rung us up. If we had waited another minute they would have lost their sale. read more

I bought a leather collar for my dog and when I brought it home and tried it on her it was too small. I took my receipt and the collar back the next day to exchange. The woman behind the counter was VERY rude. She said "Where's the price tag?" I said I took it out when I tried to put the collar on her. "She said our policy is to not take if back without the tag. Now it looks used. Really??? My dog didn't even wear it. Also, no one told me about their "policy" and there were no signs stating that policy. She exchanged the collars but she made if very clear she was not happy about it. I won't be back. read more

Read the reviews prior to going and I thought it would be fabulous. When I walked in, I was not even greeted by either of the staff that were working. It was a while later and the lady asked if I needed help and I told her what I was looking for and she literally just walked away and didn't say she'd be back. I stood there trying to figure out if she was coming back or not. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Strictly for the experience I had with the owner. I've purchased many products from this store and enjoyed my experience with the actual employees, they have always been helpful and kind, but the owner of all people on the other hand was extremely rude and refused to help me with my return. I purchased an $80 bag of food that my dog ended up having an allergic reaction to and she refused to accept the return or even store credit. She gave snide remarks stating that it was in the policy and said "it's not my policy sir" with an extremely rude tone, I couldn't believe I was speaking to THE OWNER. I only wish I could remember her name. Who conducts business this way?! How could you have kind employees and be such a rude and snooty person?? I found it funny that I've read so many reviews about other people having similar experiences with this woman. It's cowardly of her to not respond to any of these people who had such poor experiences with her. It's your responsibility to keep your customer satisfied. I truly hope it catches up to her. I just got my puppy last week and went here to get her a coat as she is a small, short hair breed. The person who helped me was very loving towards my puppy and I also got a lot of good tips on care for my dog which was nice since I've never had one before. I have to say, I've been giving this place chance after chance all the years it's been open and I'm done. The owner (little blonde) is just the rudest person I've ever met!! You can't ask her questions with her coming back with a rude comment and making you feel like you're a burden to her! She argued with me over several things while I was in the store. One to the point I had to show her proof on my phone and then she didn't even have the professionalism to apologize that she was wrong. (I asked her if she carried FROMM food and she of course rudely said yes. I told her I was buying it online and she became VERY irate and told me "YOU CANNOT BUY THAT ONLINE, IT IS ONLY FROM THE COMPANY ITSELF! I told her I DID buy it from another website and she replied with a "HMMMM" and rolled her eyes. I'm an honest no bullshit person and took that as she didn't believe me. So I opened up my order on my phone from K9 Cuisine, and showed her. Her response was "THEY AREN'T SUPPOSED TO SELL THAT!!" Umm, they are so what are you going to do about it?? Are you going to call the dog food police?? Like get over it lady! She was also so rude about a snow snow suit I needed for my dog! I asked if they came in other colors and she abruptly said "NO! THEY DO NOT". I asked for one in a L and she again rudely said "NO, WE ARE OUT OF STOCK" And of course when asked if she could order one (as I have the identical one up on amazon, she shook her head no while rolling her eyes!) My friend found a Large and said to me "here's one" and she jumped in and yelled at her that is was NOT a large bcuz she's out of stock on those. My friend explained there was an "L" on the tag and she she walked over and saw it and just say "oh, yeah it is". Just so rude and argumentative! She's just ALWAYS been very snippy and bitchy when I've been in there. It's so convenient for me to get my stuff there, but I have to prepare myself to go in and pray she's not working and I won't leave feeling drained bcuz she's so rude! Even my teenage kids leave asking "what is her problem". I'm done! There's so many other great pet stores in the area that I don't need her bullshit anymore! We were in Northville for a weekend and came across this store. The young man working in the store was very helpful and busy stocking shelves. He immediately came to the register to check us out when he saw us at the counter. He started to give us our change and a woman whom I assume was an owner took the change from him and said that's a lot of change. She went in the back room and was attempting to make change and then got in her wallet to make change. All this wasted time because we didn't have the exact .03 cents. She then gives us our change. We both were so ready to get out of there. Later I checked the change and it was .10 cents short. Nice move owner. I'm sure the young man that was attempting to give us our change before she rudely interrupted him was going to give us the CORRECT change. Don't waste your time in this store. I've been going to this pet store for over 7 years. They are so VERY Pet friendly and helpful. Never rude. I have never witnessed anyone entering that was not greeted with a smile and treat for their pooch! I feel so welcome and sure that I am getting the BEST for my dog. Never have to worry if the item was from China or Mexico. Never, ever had an issue returning anything. Prices are good too. My dog takes me there when ever we walk downtown.
