You can see the hazelnut muffins in the window on the right.

After waiting about 20 minutes in line on a weekday afternoon, we finally entered the store. We had very few choices of what to buy. There were hazelnut muffins, but I'm allergic to hazelnuts so they weren't an acceptable option for me. There were also about four or five different designs of what can best be described as big cupcakes with beautiful tops. My sister got a lemon one and I got a rose one. They both tasted ok, but weren't worth the...wait for it...€17.00 EACH (!!!) we paid for them. At the end of our 10-day stay in Paris, someone asked me whether there was a food purchase I regretted. This was it. But after seeing so many Instagram videos, it was nice to see the store. Perhaps most of their stuff goes to their restaurant, or sells out, or goes to private parties. Good for them for developing such a profitable business model, but next time I'm in Paris I'll head elsewhere.

This is a new and extremely popular bakery in Paris by a chef that is taking the scene by storm. That being said, what was on offer was not worth the 2 1/2 hour wait in line. That is not an exaggeration. In chilly and rainy Paris weather. 2 1/2 hours. Inside what was left for sale (croissants had sold out) was about four different varieties of tarts and a large chocolate chip cookie. We tried the vanilla tart and the citrus tart as well as the cookie. The tarts were well designed, and the vanilla one in particular had an attractive flower design. Both had a pleasant taste with a good crust. The vanilla one had a strong vanilla flavor while the citrus variety had a pleasant but not overly tart taste. The cookie was decent. Thick and with a chewy texture with lots of chocolate chips. Good but not great. Overall these were good but not great pastries but in no way, shape, or form worth a 2+ hour wait.

Overrated and overhyped + overpriced. You'll find better pastries + bakery goods at alt boulangerie / passtiere.

This is currently the hottest bakery in Paris right now. I came one afternoon thinking I could sink my teeth into one of their famous croissants, but they're only sold in the morning until they're gone--bummer. I instead went with one of the desserts they had, which was beautifully presented/packaged, delicious, and I guess justified the price tag of 15 euro. It's great how Cedric greets all his customers and explains his creations, adding to the experience since you're not just buying some random pastry, you're purchasing his art and vision!

We're successful in procuring the pastries @cedricgroletopera after 2 days. We tried yesterday and they were sold out of #croissants by 11am. Today, we arrived at 9:20 am before opening, waited about 1.5 hours and got almost one of everything. They were even offering free samples of the #painduchocolat for the lucky group that made it inside. Felt like we won the lottery. We also got the hazelnut tart and one mango tart. The quality is high, but the definitely on the expensive side for Paris pastries. The whole costs is almost 80 EUR for pastries.

Eating at one of Cedric Grolet's location has been on my bucket list since forever, so I was thrilled to finally be able to try it while I was visiting Paris. I had to book online in advance a few days before (they also ask for your credit card info, just in case you don't show up). When I got there, I waited a few minutes outside (I'd say probably 5), although it was around 10 am on a week day there was a huge lineup. Once I got inside they took me to the restaurant floor, it was very simple yet chic. I ordered from the brunch menu (45 euros). The avocado toast was my favourite item, you could feel that everything was fresh. For dessert I had the vanilla bean, it was good and flavourful. I'll definitely visit again the next time I'm in town. Oh and the service was 10/10 (which is very rare in Paris, yes I said it!).

This Cedric grolet location only sells croissant, pain Au chocolat, and some tarts. There are no fruit pastries. The line was super long for a beautiful looking croissant that was a bit lacking in flavor and buttery texture on the inside. 3 star for the poor experience of waiting for a good but not great croissant.

Booked a reservation for the brunch and it was so worth it. After brunch you can buy the desserts without having to wait in the line. The brunch was amazing. First off, service was really great. They really take care of you, are super attentive and gave great recs off the menu. You get to choose between a regular croissant or au pain chocolat, omelette or croissant sammy and you get 2 choices of drink. I thought it was well worth it for the food and experience. I thought the croissant was just okay. I definitely had better in Paris as it wasn't as flaky. But my god the waffles were the best I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. It doesn't come with syrup (which it didn't need) but a delectable jam and cream. Honestly, it one of the best bites. The croissant sammy was also a hit. The place is super nice and fancy (make sure to check out the bathrooms). I got some desserts for to go and they were incredible. Definitely skip the croissants and get the desserts. This place lived up to the hype for sure.

If you are planning to visit this place, I suggest making a reservation at least 6 weeks in advance. If that fails, order pick up like a week in advance. That way, you can ensure you are not waiting on line for a while and risk them running out of croissants! They open at 9:30am, we got there at 9:50am and waited 1.5 hours. By the time we paid and left, there was an employee outside telling people they had run out of croissants!! We liked the croissants. Would I come back again? Yes, but only by ordering ahead. I would not stand on line again. We also got the pain au chocolat and the vanilla flan pastry. Both were delicious!

Queue for 3 hours on a Sunday Morning at 9:45am!
    Juju L.

Biggest scam ever!!!! Waited in the queue since 9:45am for almost 3 hours. Credit card machine was down and it was cash only. By the time I got inside they ran out of all the croissants. Everyone around me had a very unhappy face because we knew that so many people cut the line. I still ended up buying a giant cookie, a ginormous chocolate croissant, what looked like an extra large looking Chinese egg tarts and a vanilla flower cake. So disappointed because: 1. Didn't get to try any of their normal individual croissants 2. Ginormous egg tart was not flaky buttery and the filling did not impress me. I'd rather take a Chinese egg tart for $1 than this $15 thing 3. Flower cake although beautiful, lack taste. 4. Who the hell runs out of their staple croissants 3 hours after opening??? Ok sorry for this angry review but I've never waited in line for 3 hours and been so disappointed. FUNNY ENOUGH I MISSED MY CROISSANT MAKING CLASS FOR THIS!

Mont Blanc with black currant! Absolutely delectable
    Shelley Z.

Oh my dearest Mont Blanc My love for you is so strong I can't stop singing my praises For you in an epic opera song *struggles to wail* ...lolol my non-existent rhyming skills got even worse somehow But really, this Mont Blanc is magical. The tart black currant center balances out the sweet rich chestnut and hazelnut. One of the best pastries I've ever had!

Waited in line about 20 minutes. Out of chocolate croissants. Picked up some other yummy desserts. Excellent customer service service.

I don't often write reviews very much nowadays because I like to avoid being overly critical. But this place is truly exceptional. The complaints about this place are about people that are upset from waiting hours in line and them running out of items. This is understandable since everything is made fresh and quality is something the establishment is set on maintaining. I recommend making a reservation a month in advance. That's what we did and we scheduled the brunch. I suggest that you do the same if you intend to visit this place. It's 50euros per person, 60 if you are having the mimosas. I originally thought that this was somewhat high for a boluangerie/ patisserie experience. But after experiencing it myself I have zero regrets and found it well worth it. 1st off you skip the general line which is only for pick up orders. Which saves you at least an hour. Then you get to experience a wonderful lunch with gracious service. And you are completely stuffed by the end. PLUS you can order from the ala carte menu as well and get items boxed up to go for you as extras, hence circumventing the line. Besides just the items listed on the fixed price menu their is an assortment of their famous basic pastries included in the brunch. Which I was not aware of. This includes a mini croissant, pain au Chocolat, and a chocolate tart. All are scrumptious, especially the chocolate tart. Then comes your choice of hot and cold beverages. And the mains (2 choices of sandwiches) We chose one of each for the mains. Both were quite exceptional with a perfect balance of flavors, textures, and seasoning. This is the first time I ever thought that avocado toast was actually delicious and worthwhile. I usually find it to be a bland dish useful for instagraming. The chicken and comté sandwich was rustic and hearty while maintaining elegance. Finally the desserts we had the chocolate flower and the vanilla mango flower. Both of us preferred the chocolate. With the mango flower although still being delicious. Especially if you're the type that enjoys slightly tart and sweet combinations. We also got the Fleur paris brest, pistachio flower, and Mont-blanc to take back to our hotel with us. Unfortunately they were all out of the Vanilla. Skip the line and make reservations for one of the meal services.

Literally everything I tried was amazing and I tried quite a few things. And it's not just the vacation bias, since I did try other bakeries in the neighborhood that were very mediocre. Mille Feuille: Loved how the dry flaky layers contrasted the creamy layers. Éclairs au Chocolat: My French is weak so I thought I was getting vanilla cream filled, so the chocolate ganache was surprising. But a pleasant surprise as it was super rich, playing nicely against the choux shell. Canelés: Perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It tasted like there was some hint of alcohol flavoring inside, but I couldn't place it. Bonne Maman Poire Chocolat: Loved the soft pears against the brownie-like surrounding tart. Tartelette Framboise: Basically an excuse to get a ton of cream, which happens rest on a buttery shell and be covered in fresh raspberries. Cheese Cake: Nothing like New York cheesecake. It has the consistency of no-bake, but wasn't, since it tasted baked. So airy and light and delicious. Delise de Iles: One of the prettiest desserts with so many pretty colorful layers, including fluffy meringue on top. I especially liked how the fruit paste layer contrasted the creamy layer. Cherry Frangipane: A little dry on its own, but pairs well with coffee. The fragrant cooked cherries are the highlight. Pineapple Tartlet: Forget the French name, but it was a rather dry grainy tart (almost muffin-like) with candied pineapple on top. Another one that goes well with coffee. Cavette(?): Not sure if I got the spelling right, but this was basically like rectangular-shaped croissant dough with cream and chocolate in between. AMAZING! Perhaps my favorite breakfast treat. Croissant au Beurre: Simple, yet so amazing. Better than anything I've had in stateside. Baguette aux Lardons: How can you make a baguette better? Add crispy thick bacon bits and cheese! Sandwich Jambon et Fromage: My favorite of the simple baguette sandwiches I tried. A classic ham & cheese that the French somehow make amazing. Sandwich Brie Beurre: Very rich since you have creamy brie and butter! Sandwich Saucisson Cornichons: Each ingredient individually was fine, but I wasn't digging the combination. I should have probably stuck with having some sort of cheese. Baguette Traditional: Super crunchy and crispy outside, with a soft and airy center. Baguette Classique: Reminded me of a hoagie roll, but way fancier. All the good parts of baguette, but a slightly softer shell that manages to crunch a tad but it gets chewy.

The bakery is small yet inviting, and there was no seating indoors or outdoors.
