I really enjoy this place. The food is flavorful and comes out hot! They have hookah and it's byob and on Fridays and Saturdays there is a cover because the restaurant turns into a huge fun party with music, belly dancers, and a drummer. The cover seems a bit expensive but they work in dinner with it and you have to make a reservation on those days since the place sells out. It's a great party. The crowd is mixed, different cultures of people and ages. It's not only Middle Easterners that frequent the venue. The DJ plays everything from Hip Hop to Bachata to Arabic house and he's fantastic. I have 2 issues with this place. 1. No matter when you walk in, or how you look, or who you are with, everyone will stare at you. Its not the staff so mucj, its everyone there who is seated. Don't know why, it's a welcoming ritual of sorts I guess. 2. The waitresses can be a bit slow depending on when you are there and who is working. I have been here numerous times and have always had a good experience. The food is authentic Lebanese/Arabic cuisine and is always cooked to perfection. Management is very personable and attentive. Also the place is BYOB which is great. On Saturday nights they usually have a DJ or arabic singer so there may be a cover charge or minimum order requirement on that night if you sit inside. Ask before you get seated if you care. The place is always packed but they never seem to turn anyone away and always find a way to make sure you leave full and with a smile. Check it out if you're in the area. It beats going to many of those other arabic places in the Clifton/Paterson area. read more

Loved the ambience, music and hookah. However I'm giving a 3 star because the waitress was rude. Food never came out after 1 hour of ordering and then she told us the kitchen canceled her order and she cannot give us our food. I have to start by saying I have become a regular at cedars. It is based on a few solid factors, to start off the ambience of the place is great. It is very spacious, with indoor, out door and a covered patio. Food is very delicious you will get the perfect Lebanese dining experience . From hummus to kibbeh and from Borak (cheese rolls to the tabouleh salad) their entrees are fresh and very filling . Coming to the Hookah, they have good flavors (my recommendation cedars mix) for beginners Blue mist. Now five stars to the managers and the employees who are constantly there to help you. My personal interaction has been with their manager Ali (true gentlemen ) he has topped customer service with customer relation. I walked in on a Saturday Night with a full entourage of 11 folks and he /owner accommodated us without any questions asked In all everyone at Cedars is a VIP. The business structure of this place is an absolute joke. If you have a large group you are forced to buy the pre fixe ($40.00 + 20% gratuity and tax) If you're a male and don't want the pre fixe there's a 20 dollar entrance fee because a "local DJ" is "performing". On top of that you have to purchase a minimum of $35 worth or goods. For a place that looks like a run down strip club on the outside with a few fancy lights on the inside it's better to go elsewhere... I've been meaning to come here for a while now. I was not disappointed at all. Hummus was so creamy and full of flavor. My friend and I ate every last bite. What was good was great and the rest not so much. The chicken kebab was great so was the hummus the baba ghanouj, fries and the argeela. The koba neeya( idk if that's spelled correctly) and the kufta was lacking flavor and taste like meat with no spices added. The lemonade with mint was pretty good as well. The place is really nice and the workers are all very friendly and make you feel very welcomed! The only downside is the owner, he is rude. I was having fun and dancing with my friends and the owner sent the bouncer to escort me back to the table!! I have been there multiple times but after this incident I am never going back to cedars because what happened isn't fair, I am there to have fun and they invaded my freedom! Cedars is definitely the best option there is when it comes to classy, elegant, high service restaurants. I've been to plenty of middle eastern hookah bars around the Paterson area and none have really impressed me the way cedars does. The food is top notch. The hookah is the best hookah I've had from any hookah bar in northern New Jersey by far, and the staff is extra friendly and kind. The managers treat you like family and parking is free and easy. We went to Ceders after going to laziza a few times in Patterson and Pergola in NYC. We sat outside because we wanted to have conversation and not lose our voices talking over music. We loved it. Service was great and food was also very good. We ordered mixed grill, wings and a few sandwiches. Wings were crisply done and meat was cooked well. I love the food here. The baba ganoush app is nothing to get excited about. However, anything else on the menu is divine. I order the grilled shrimp for dinner and for apps we always get the Mahamara and the Fatoush Salad. Let me begin to tell you that if I had the option to giving this place a Zero I would! It was a Saturday night, which was on cinco De mayo, packed thought it would be a nice spot, ordered hookah and it was horrible, made me cough with just one puff and felt so nauseous, not smooth at all. I asked them for a pot of tea and their tea came out COLD!!!! Not even near HOT. They put mint leaves and just water in the pot without brewing it. Didn't even bother putting it to boil. They overcharge people with their entrance fee in the inside lounge, with a 55 minimum per head for live entertainment which is loud and I mean very loud old people singing Lebanese music. So me and my husband decided to sit in the outside hookah area. I am not ashamed of writing this review at all, very disappointed I even asked for my money back never had a bad experience like this. My husband and I ordered take out for the first time. We live around the corner and wanted to try it out as its consistently packed. The food was delicious and super fresh, and was ready for pick up in 20 minutes. Went there last Friday and as the reviews say it's bring your own. Just a warning everyone takes that to extreme and they bring the good stuff like I did. We saw someone puking in the lobby but the staff and owner were amazing. Food took awhile but were warned of the wait. Wait staff is very busy and food came out hot and tasty. Really enjoyed the apps and humus! The entertainment was fun and afterwards the party started. Everyone danced and had a great time. Small dance floor so dance where you want. Absolutely loved the food here! It is authentic Lebanese cuisine and great quality! The appetizers are great, we got a bunch for the table, muhamara, hummus, fattoush, labneh, borak and they were all delicious! Their french fries are also surprisingly addicting! I loved the the filet mignon entree, it was well marinated/seasoned and moist! It came with an option of a side, I would recommend getting the rice over the mixed vegetables. I thought the mixed vegetables would be zucchini/string beans/broccoli/carrots etc but it was a grilled tomato and pepper and onion which I don't really enjoy.
