Great bar service! I ordered a dozen oysters in the variety they had available. They were amazingly fresh and very clean. No grit or sand and lots of the briney liquid maintained. The prime rib was next and it was as expected. Tender and flavorful. Well seasoned and not overly salty like some from other establishments. The dip was hot! Nothing is worse than dipping into lukewarm juice. Not here the hot liquid was a perfect and a great compliment. I asked to sub the potato with asparagus and they happily obliged at no extra charge. I really liked this place for an option in the Casino. More upscale vibe sure but also without being too formal if you didn't want to. Has 2 sections. The lounge which has like small tapas and plates (we ate here) and the bar section, and then the more formal dining room with the more expensive lobster and plates. I went with a friend for a girls night and ended up sharing oysters, the poke tostados, and the steak salad. Awesome flavors in the tostados and good oysters. The waiter split up the salad for us and it was just enough food and not too expensive of a bill! Would def go again! read more

Don't waste your money on overpriced steaks. Just look at my pictures. Way Overcooked green beans, steak was tasteless (had to keep adding salt/pepper). Drinks are ok. As far as eating at Foxwoods there isn't much available. There is a standard buffet which is average. They have Dunkin' Donuts and a chinese bakery and a food court. This steakhouse is great. Good prices. Great lobster bisque The bread they give in the breadbasket is assorted and a treat. Comes with strawberry butter and regular butter. So good All the entrees are good. First off, I don't write reviews, but this restaurant needed this critique. I've been a patron here since it opened, always enjoyed lunches at the bar with a couple dozen shrimp, crab cakes and drinks and other times dinner in the restaurant. I recently went, Monday and Tuesday closed. Wednesday stopped in to book a reservation for 7 PM for dinner. At the host desk, a male and a female employee, can't do 7, but have 6:45 or 7:15 PM. Great, 7:15 it will be. BTW, the gentleman's name was Mike/Michael. We arrive at 7:10..........the entire restaurant is empty with 3 tables occupied in the main dining room a 1 person at the bar. As we seemed to be a bother to him, he seated us in the last table next to the door going to the food court. As stated in opening a don't do reviews or complain but the entire meal from start to finish was horrendous, from the bloody mary on. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were still gray and translucent. The only saving grace to this waste of money meal was the waitress, Caroline, personable and accommodating. If I were her I would leave her present employ and work at David Burke's Prime. She did remove the shrimp which I asked her not to, but did. She made the dinner more manageable and for that she received a 50% gratuity. It's time for Foxwoods/Cedars to change up their facility especially their front of house host followed by their kitchen. Poor quality products taste-wise during happy hour,. Inconsistent overall menu tasting food. Nice bartenders and good servers though. And a cool half off wine Monday's. I would recommend keeping it simple and trying the bacon burger with your choice side. Blue cheese chx salad also a good choice. Had a great meal here while staying at Foxwoods for the weekend. Service was quite good despite being busy and possibly slightly understaffed. The lamb chops and filet were cooked perfectly to order and the sides were delicious as well. The wine list is quite reasonably priced. Went on recommendation from friends. Was a horrible experiance. Were seated in the bar area, slid in on booth side and cut my hand because the granite table had a huge chip taken out of it. Server finally showed up after 15 minutes and had a real attitude. Ordered a vouple drinks amd started t order an app but he walked away while i was speaking. Another 20 minute wait for our drinks to be dropped on the table and he wandered away. We finally gor to order an app and when it arrived it was mediocre at best. Not worth the money or aggravation. Only reason we stayed as long as we did was because the superbowl was on. Will never go back read more

Stopped here for dinner after a show at around 9:45pm. Had a reservation it took about 4 minutes to be seated because the hostess was busy chatting and laughing with her co worker about some "guy". Staff needs to be a little more professional and wait until you have nothing to do before you gossip. We were then seated and promptly greeted by our waiter. Ordering was quick and didn't take long at all. I ordered braised short ribs over mashed potato and my guest ordered the sword fish with a side of corn. The corn was delicious, it was fresh off the cob prepared in a dish with seasonings. It was excellent. My short rib was decisions and the potatoes were smooth and had a lot of texture and flavor. The only thing that could of been a little better was the temperature of the food could of been a little hotter. Other than that the bill came out to $117 for two plus tip. One of the worst overall dining experiences that my wife and I ever had. We were at Foxwoods to see Jerry Seinfeld. We made a 4:30 PM reservation through the Foxwoods web site (it was the earliest available). When we arrived we were told that our table wasn't ready and were directed to a waiting area where we waited for 15 minutes without further contact from any restaurant employee. Losing patience, we finally inquired about when the table would be ready and were told (for the first time) that the restaurant wouldn't open until 5:00 PM and that there were no seats available. When we complained we were ushered to a "lounge" area and told we could eat from a limited menu and were assured the food was from the same kitchen. We sat, and then waited 10 minutes until we saw a waiter. We ordered, the waitress seemed to disappear, the mushroom appetizer arrived in an uneatable condition, the prime rib was of little taste, and they never brought the lime for my wife's drink for which she had repeatedly asked. This place used to be great, I have no idea what happened. My sister ordered a fillet cooked medium that was servered as a hockey puck and inedible. I ordered a strip steak medium that was also very overcooked and unbelievably tough. The scallop appetizer was so over cooked I took one bite and didn't eat the rest and I prefer my scallops well done ( a sin, I know) but these were just burnt, hard as rocks and awful. The green beans were cooked strange, some were overcooked and some were nearly raw, it was strange. My husband had the lobster roll and was happy with it but did say the bun was too large. One other person in our party had the ribeye and said it was good. The drinks and service were very good but the food was a no go for sure. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for Vday this year. It was just okay. Nothing special. I ordered the surf and turf.. He had the porterhouse. I asked for medium well steak.. it came out rare. When I asked for it to be cooked some more, they brought me a burnt steak. My boyfriend asked for his porterhouse well done, they brought it medium. As for taste.. my steak was so burnt I couldnt enjoy it. My boyfriend's steak was fine, not great. We also ordered the mac and cheese, which in my opinion was a bit runny. Ceasar salad was good (but how can you get that wrong?!). I must say though their French Onion Soup is the best I've ever had .. EVER!! It might just be me but if I'm paying over $200 for a meal.. When a go to Foxwoods, this used to be one of my go to places to eat. It is the cheapest steakhouse (Still expensive though) at the casino and the food was usually pretty good. But, over the years it has gone downhill fast. The menu is stagnant and the food itself just doesn't do it for me anymore. The latest renovation actually made the place worse. It no longer feels like a cozy steakhouse, but now it feels like it's part of the cafeteria that sits just outside. My latest trip a couple days back sealed the deal on probably never eating there again. My friend ordered a filet and it was the tiniest piece of meat ever seen and only $4 less than the filet at David Burke steakhouse at the woods. Also, there was a 'roasted tomato' that looked so awful we had to ask what it was. The waiter replied 'don't be scared of it', which should never be said about a piece of food on your plate. In addition, my burger was not so good. The cheese wasn't even melted, which if you ask me, almost ruins the burger. I expect much better quality out of my steakhouses when I'm paying the premium. Do not recommend, and only giving 2 swords because they used to be good... Try David Burke's instead. read more

I ordered a $50 steak special - that came with roasted potatoes and asparagus. I asked for medium rare and it came out medium well - which is unacceptable for a "steakhouse" or any fine dining restaurant. The waitress apologized and submitted it for a refire. 20 minutes later (after everyone was finished eating and had their plates cleared) a properly cooked steak returned. It was good enough but I was totally uncomfortable at this point; everyone in our party finished eating and was now waiting on me. 20 minutes was too long for a medium rare steak. During this uncomfortable point the staff avoided our table. Everyone had empty water glasses and empty cocktails. So not only were they done eat, they were now really just waiting on me because they couldn't order a new cocktail. When addressed with the manager - he offered no solutions or apologizes and asked "What do you want me to do?". Umm, your job? I'm not paid to come up with a solution, you are. But if he needs some suggestions: Offer to comp my meal, Offer a round of drinks? They ended up trying to bring over a fruit and pudding cup -- but still hadn't refill our water cups. kinda expected this place to be an overpriced eatery given the locale being inside a casino. but at this price point, i shall hold them to great expectations. first, ambiance -- decor was ok, but sitting right in the "open area" behind the hostess stand wasn't enjoyable. any time a hotel/maintenance staff strolled by the hallway w/a trolley-load of chairs or what have you, the loud clanging noises echoed through the hollow space. looking right out onto the "poor people" food court (where i'd be if wasn't in here for a bday lunch) and draped out reno scene isn't the best sight out of the dining area, either. sidebar on management: they had a bar area and a whole dining section at the inner, covered part of the restaurant, but hardly anyone was led to be sat in these quieter quarters. why?? then, food -- quality was ok, but not worth spending this much, to be honest. strangely enough, the ribeye hub ordered was half the thickness as what i'd get from Stop and Shop for $10; strange, thin cut that costs nearly $40 (was that even 10 oz?). he also wanted it "black and blue" (extremely raw) but it came out medium well and had to be sent back. meanwhile, my lobster roll had the huge piece of claw flab that nobody likes, at a whopping $21. coincidentally i had one from Iggy's @ Naragansett, RI just the day before; the meat choice was much better, for 30% less on the price. finally, service -- server was ok, but seemed new and inexperienced. what is not ok, is that they mishandled food for the kids with nuts among other allergies: put a roasted tomato w/pesto on the plate with the otherwise allergy-free food. two extra mishaps followed: 1) floor manager had NO IDEA what was on that plate when asked (yeah, i can see that it's a tomato); 2) chef tried to simply remove the item in question and thought it'd be ok. to be fair, once told and realized the gravity of the issue, the said chef did try very hard to rectify the mistakes: by taking the whole plate away, making another one fresh (albeit came out a different cut of meat), and following up with comp desserts and chef's hats for the kids. also he apologized profusely every time he came out, which were all appreciated. but again, for a restaurant trying to position itself in the caliber of David Burke, i would expect the staff be better trained in general. i've been to everyday chains like 99 or BBC, even Legal Seafood would have the MANAGER take out the food for diners with allergies PRIOR to all other plates, and the staff is well-trained throughout. but Cedar is not doing any of that; the manager appeared as clueless as anyone on the street about food allergies, which is disconcerting. knowing the mother of these kids, i'm sure she had called the place up and inquired and explained in great details prior. upon the incident, she coped and dealt with a lot of patience and grace. if it were me, i probably would have flipped out. with this episode and all other factors considered (read: a $600+ tap for 11-pax lunch--8 adults & 3 kids), i have to stick with the 2-star conclusion. read more

We were here on Saturday night, after walking through most of the Foxwoods establishment and not finding what we wanted for dinner, ended up here. GREAT that we did. Surprisingly we had their special that day 9oz Filet Mignon with 2 Stuffed Shrimp and Mashed Potatoes. Well the Steaks were cooked to perfection and cut like butter. Shrimp were HUGE and meaty with a stuffing baked on top. Served with drawn butter and Bearnaise sauce. Side of Mashed (delicious) ALL WAS TERRIFIC ! In a casino I was not expecting the great food and service, but, low and behold, that IS what we got. read more

Just spent the night at Foxwoods and ate here for both dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday- it really wasn't that great each time so I'm not sure why we even came back in- oh yea someone wanted a burger! The servers were really great and always nice and attentive. We did request a dessert for my aunts 50th birthday and never got it and also requested a booth which she said we were getting and then walked us to a table?? As for the food everyone was raving about the ribeye so two people got that... I am not a red meat eater and I would NEVER eat something that looked like that. It was so rare and fatty you had to cut so much of it off. The lobster roll and chicken sandwich were very tasty though. For lunch the next day we got burgers and a Cesar salad- everyone enjoyed their burgers. It really shouldn't be hard to make a Cesar salad but this one just wasn't that great. I'm pretty sure the croutons were stale (thumbs down) If you want a fancy dinner at Foxwoods I would not recommend here- to grab a sandwich and drink at the bar it's not bad! read more

It was just fine. Although I felt like I was eating in an airport restaurant, but with real cutlery. My filet was delicious, but at $40 only came with a scoop of mashed potatoes- no veg. Husband had the Rib Eye, and it was just fine, a gain $40 and one side. Our appetizer took forever to come out, and ended up beating out enters by only 5 minutes. Next time I want a delicious steak dinner I will go outside the casino to one of the great restaurants in Mystic, Stonington etc. they're more likely to know how to time a meal and it will be more intimate. read more

I came to Cedars for some drinks and dinner this past week and was quite pleasantly surprised! I have visited Foxwoods multiple times and have never stopped in, though I have heard great things. We chose to sit in the lounge area, to be able to have access to both the bar and regular dinner menu - though we did order off of the dinner menu. We shared an order of the stuffed mushrooms which were delicious and full of flavor. I chose to order the tuscan pork chop with a side of steamed asparagus. What I really appreciated was the ability to order the chop at the temperature I like, as I enjoy my pork with a little bit of pink and juicy - it was cooked perfectly! I enjoyed my asparagus as well, even though it was just that - steamed asparagus. It was nice, firm, and fresh! Now for my favorite part (and the only part I took a picture of), the fruit fiesta dessert. Oh my goodness, this was amazing! I don't often order dessert, but I am so happy that we shared this! It has a delicious cream, fresh berries, and an edible "basket". If you are in the mood for a lighter refreshing dessert, I highly recommend this! Overall, if you don't mind spending a little bit of money (this is not the cheapest restaurant), and are in the mood for solid customer service and food, do not hesitate to come here! read more

We are big steak eaters so when our group wanted to go there for dinner we thought why not. Well we told by the bartender at Shrine to expect a lot of old people and the waitstaff were very slow with one foot in the grave lol. He was not wrong! The overall oder was of bleach and ben-gay. It took our waitress 30 min before she greeted us. The oysters were ok and boring with cocktail sauce. My strip steak which was ordered rare arrived med. The veal chop Maryland was not bad. We ordered a few "small plates" since this was our first time out without the kids in 10 years and we wanted to sample several resteraunts. The first thing that stuck out was the general malaise of the staff. Maybe it was because of our casual attire that we weren't taken seriously as upscale guests. The Ahi Tuna was not pan seared which is typically how it is prepared. We didnt understand the point of the "raw menu" if they weren't going to put all the raw items in that section so that was misleading and my husband is not a fan of raw anything. The waiter was excellent but the woman filling our drinks spilled copious amounts of water all over the table several times. The 3rd time, she spilled water all over the rest of our food than quickly cashed out us. I don't know if this was to try and distract from the fact we weren't able to finish our dishes anyway since they were sopping wet but we were more than happy to end our experience. We tried to get the attention of the staff on our way out to discuss our experience but they made it more than apparent our business wasn't welcome. I get we had a casual appearance in an upscale setting but you guys should post SOMEWHERE that not ALL disposable incomes are warmly welcomed. Lesson learned. read more

This place use to be great Had the ribeye steak was super salty and fatty. We also had the lobster roll. It's suppose to be on a toasted roll lightly buttered well it was the opposite. The lobster had no flavor and it came out cold. I sent it back for a new one We also got 6 oysters and they were not on ice , had no presentation to them just thrown on a tiny plate The service was really good though in he bar area an older woman was super sweet I have to say. We went last nite for dinner, were seated in lounge and given a menu. I decided what to order, but when the waitress arrived, we were informed that we were given the "dining room menu" and we should have received the "lounge menu". We were not allowed to order off the menus we had, and waitress was extremely firm about this. She switched out our menus and I ordered a burger. For a $3 upcharge, I also ordered the homemade tater tots. The burger was fair, and tater tots were burnt. I couldn't eat them. I think they could have done better with service and food. read more

This is my husband and my 3rd time eating at Cedars. Previously we have had delicious meals. Tonight's meal was anything but delicious. Two prime rib dinners that costed over $120.00. My husbands was cold, over 1/3 fat and had no flavor mine was flavorless as well. We were served frozen butter packets that did not even melt on the baked potato for which we had to request. The service was quite lacking too. For a $120 meal they could have asked if we needed another drink after we were served our food. This place is no longer worth the price. Sad. read more

I've only ever eaten in the lounge, because it requires no reservations and almost always has available seating whenever you can pull yourself away from the gaming tables to find something to eat. The lounge has its own menu, but they will also serve anything off the restaurant menu if you ask. For instance, the lounge offers a filet mignon 6oz. that comes in two medallions, but you can chose to get the 9 oz. filet from the restaurant menu for just $3 more (granted, the restaurant menu offering doesn't come with sides, an order of a baked potato or fries will cost you extra). Some of my favorites here: the crabcake, lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail, swordfish steak, and filet mignon. One of my top three steaks I've ever eaten came from Cedar's! They have a handful of sandwiches as well, shave prime rib sandwich, open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cranberry sauce, and you can get a burger if that's all you're in the mood for. I rarely sit at the bar itself as I have a strong aversion to the 'old beer' smell that comes with nearly every bar I've ever sat at, including this one, but the lounge has a dozen or more 2 and 4 tops that provide plenty of seating. If you do your gambling before dinner, they also accept your player's card points! It's nice to offset a portion of your dinner bill as some small consolation for your loses at the tables or slots! The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star, is the occassional inconsistency in waitstaff service and cooking staff. Most meals here are excellent, but some are only so-so. And on occassion you'll get a waiter or waitress handling tables on opposite sides of the bar so they may (and do) sometimes forget about you leaving it to you to flag someone down for refills or your check. read more

We ate at Cedar's with another couple and left completely stuffed! Warning: the soups are delicious, but they are huge and should be a shared appetizer. We each got a soup to start us off (lobster bisque and french onion) and were pretty full before our dinner even came out. The meals we ordered were: Short Ribs - very little fat, tender, served over mashed potatoes, large portion, and though the sauce says it has peppers, it is not that spicy Shrimp pasta with cream sauce - huge shrimp, and really tasty sauce, pasta cooked perfectly Filet Mignon (with asiago bacon topping) - this must have been amazing, because it was devoured in what seemed like a couple of minutes :) For drinks, we had draft beers (the could do with a better selection), and wine from their extensive list. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from at Foxwoods, and Cedar's did not disappoint us. read more

My husband and I are frequent visitors of Foxwoods, and dine at Cedars often. The first few times we were blown away at the service we received and the quality of food, everything was perfect. The last few visits have been sub par at best. The service is less than friendly, the staff seems miserable. I understand Covid has taken a toll on the restaurant industry servers, however if you are miserable please stay home. Our steak was a bit overcooked, and did not have flavor. It was my husband's birthday, I made note when making the reservation and the server made no mention. There are many places to choose from when dining at Foxwoods, I hope Cedars can shape up soon. Great steaks! Well, not only steaks but their chicken and fish dishes are really good too. Cedar's is a nice restaurant to get together with friends and family. The quality of the food and service is top notch! The bar is a little more casual. There are only a few small tables or seats at the bar. I found the bartenders to be super attentive. They even brought the peppermill out for my clam chowder. Make sure you have a reservation on the weekend. Cedar's can be booked solid. read more
