This place is LIT. Why people decide to ever go next door to the washed-up, crusty, stale Applebee's is beyond me. Applebee's is like the old folk's home of restaurants, unlike Cedar's, which is FRESH as F*CK. Great tapas bar, small intimate space. Could do something to reduce noise. If you love garlic this is your place. Whole heads of roasted garlic come with many of the dishes. They charcuterie board was my favorite. The fried chorizo was flavorful but a little bit over done. The garlic shrimp were well cooked but could've been infused with a little more garlic. We love this place! We have 4 + 5 year olds and even they love the falafel wrap. It's tricky finding decent vegan food and we were so happy when we found this place. The food was absolutely delicious, but the two women at the front had their masks pulled down and the cook you could see directly through the register wasn't wearing a mask OR gloves. Ordered Lebanese spinach pies, was told by the person behind the counter that this was a Lebanese restaurant not Greek! WHAAAT? I've been married to my Lebanese wife for almost 27 years and have had homemade spinach and meat pies along with many visits to Lebanese restaurants in my hometown. What a lovely surprise this little cafe was. Owner is super kind, helpful and prepares excellent Mediterranean food! Falafel was delicious as was the shawarma...and if you have kids who are picky eaters fear not there are crispy french fries as well. We sat and dined there, small place to sit and very casual which was great since our kids were just running around. Food was genuinely authentic and worth returning back to for sure! In the area running errands and Yelp reviews led us here. Dined on a Friday afternoon around 3 p with a friend. No one was in the sub shop when we arrived. A young lady and gentleman greeted us immediately and handed us menus. A variety of choices had us debating what to order. We decided on the lamb kabob dinner which comes with a choice of salad or hummus over rice and we chose salad and asked if fries could be substituted. The young lady looked to the gentleman who we learned was her dad and he gladly said "yes"...I can do whatever you want. We also ordered the chicken and beef kabob combination plate which is served with tabouli, hummus and pita bread. You order at the counter and seat yourself. There were about 8-10 tables ...all of which were available. They asked if we preferred our salad in advance and we said yes. It was served in a clear plastic takeout container but they did give us plastic plates. The mixed greens were very fresh with grape Tomatos, red onions and shredded carrots. A lemony vinaigrette dressing on the side. Our lunches arrived shortly in styrofoam takeout containers. The lamb kabobs were supposed to come with the fries but instead it was over rice. When we reminded the daughter that we wanted to substitute the rice with fries, she called over to her dad (also the cook) and he immediate apologized and happily started a batch for us. The hummus was the best I've ever had. I understand it's not hard to make (I've never made it myself) but this was unusually tastier than any I've ever had but I couldn't pinpoint what made it different. The beef was very tender and cooked medium, our preference, the tabouli was very fresh and just right, the chicken was also very tender and had a nice char from the grill. The rice was topped with thin slices of onions and peppers, a little too soft/mushy for my friend but perfect for me. My friend thought the lamb kabobs were a bit overcooked. I'm not a fan of lamb so couldn't comment on it. She was also disappointed that the fries weren't hand cut. 5 stars for service and friendliness! 3 stars for environment (more of a sub shop than restaurant) and cleanliness. For 2 people we split the Lamb Kabob (which you HAVE to try!), and Chicken Kabob, Tabouleh, Hummus & Falafel. It was perfect. The people who were working there, I'm assuming the owners, we super nice. Asking if we had any questions about anything on the menu. I even saw the fresh Tabouleh being made by him. I've only had takeout from Cedars Cafe. Several of my co-workers were ordering out so I decided to jump on the lunch bandwagon. I didn't actually pick up the order so I can't say anything about the location. As for the food, wow it's good! I decided to try the highly praised falafel. For $5 (+ tax) you get a very large falafel wrap, which contains lots of hearty falafel balls, tomatoes, onions, and a tangy hummus based sauce. The wrap was warm and soft. The falafel was very flavorful, had the right texture, and was very nicely accentuated by the sauce and veggies. The quality and value here is great. If you aren't absolutely famished you could probably split one of these between two people, what a deal! This is the way Lebanese food should be, cheap and tasty. I highly recommend Cedars and can't wait to try more of their offerings such as the kibbeh. read more

My husband is from the East Coast and I'm from the West Coast. I somehow convinced him to move back to California with me. But whenever we visit New Hampshire for the holidays, we must, without a doubt , go to Cedars Cafe for shwarmas. Why? Because no matter where I get shwarmas on the West Coast or the East Coast and everywhere in between, we've never had them so good. The shwarmas here are the food of gods. They use a large pita, slather it with the most amazing garlic sauce (just garlic?), tomato, pickles, raw white onion and whatever filling your request. Not good for your breath, but ridiculously good. Nashua, you have NO IDEA what a gem you have on your hands. The grape leaves are also very good -- not gamey like some I've had before. Hummus is excellent, of course. And as a few reviews mention, the owner is the nicest guy and though we now only make it to the cafe about once a year he always remembers my husband when we run into him. The moral of the story, go there now. They are nice people with amazing food that just happens to be pretty healthy. read more

I was itching to find a new place to try and stumbled upon this place. Without question, this is the best Mediterranean restaurant in the area. You'd have to go to Boston to find anything better. The restaurant itself is small. It's in a strip mall and there's not much to it. We had to wait a while for the meal to arrive, but we were well rewarded once it did show up. Everything was delicious. The portions were nice and big, so we definitely didn't leave hungry. The taboulle is probably some of the best I've had. The seasoning is perfect. (And so much closer than driving down to Boston to find a similar restaurant) It's a quiet, diner type restaurant tucked within a plaza, and you probably wouldn't think much of it at first glance. The food is SO flavorful and filling-- the owner is very passionate about what he does, and you can taste it in his cooking! He's there every day, and the food is very consistent and fresh. I had the lamb kabobs with rice, tabouleh, and grape leaves. There's a menu section called "Mama's Menu", and these are specialties prepared and made by the owner's mom... SO good! The grape leaves are tasty, and the tabouleh salad doesn't have too much "filler" grains like commercial, store-bought brands-- I had to stop in a couple days later just to pick up some tabouleh to go :) The lamb kabobs are full of flavor, just the right seasoning, and so tender. It comes with a homemade rice pilaf with very thin egg noodles. One suggestion that would make this place even better: delivery! read more

I'll be honest, when I went to Cedar's Cafe, it wasn't for the Mediterranean food for which they are renowned. In fact, until I walked in there, I had no idea they had that kind of ethnic food. The outside of the place bills it as a sandwich shop and damn if I wasn't jonesing for a sub. And the sub (Italian; that's still Mediterranean) was fantastic. Happened upon Cedars while in the area for an appointment. Saw their sign stating "best falafel in NH" and actually got out of my car to go check it out, and boy am I glad I did. I got the chicken kabob and falafel dinner, which came with hummus and tabouleh, and a fresh homemade pita. I nearly dropped to the floor with the first bite. I was on the hunt for decent greek food in Nashua and decided to try Cafe Cedar. I went with my mom and we bother ordered a kabob dinner, her chicken and me lamb. We shared some falafel as well. The dinners come with humus or salad and rice pilaf. I ordered humus and received a full sized humus (like you would get at a grocery store) and pita, SO delicious. My mom's salad looked a little sad, maybe it was just because even tho we ate there, everything was still served in to go containers. The sheer amount of rice on the plate was crazy. I ate my fill, my boyfriend and I both had leftovers with dinner another night, and we still didnt finish it! The crazy amount of rice didnt quite make up for the small portion of lamb, 4 chunks for $11 bucks. It was still very tasty, however. I would probably just get a wrap in the future. My mom's chicken was really good, tender and well seasoned. The star of the meal was absolutely the falafel. Their falafel is HUGE and expertly done. I loved everything about it. It was even good left over! Overall, I liked this place but I would suggest sharing a 2 kabob meal to save a few bucks. $31 for a take out joint for two people is a little pricey, but the food was good. read more

Their falafels are the BEST I have ever had, and I have tried a lot! Most other falafels that I have tried lack appropriate amount of salt needed to bring out all the flavors, and are made from ready-to-make mix. Not these ones. Told will be 40min wait- happy to wait..... then Sent husband to pick up- was told order was not put in as he didn't understand what the order was . Really??? I've been wanting to try Cedars for a while and yesterday had the chance to stop in and try a couple of items. I can only give three stars right now because allthough what we had was very good, it was missing a brightness or pop factor where flavor was concerned, at least to me. On the other hand, the place was quite busy and full of ethnic customers who seemed to be regulars. So that says a lot about the authenticity of the place. On to the food - we were pretty hungry so I ordered the Kafta plate - lamb/beef ground together and very lean, a gigantic portion of decent tabouleh, and a very thicky, very tasty and rustic hummus (I thought it could use a hit of acid or be a little brighter somehow, but this could totally be my palate alone). Served alongside was a very fresh, large pita. This plate was HUGE - two people could easily enjoy this and have some left over. I would have rather had far less parsley in my tabouleh and more bulgur, or at least equal amounts, but overall it was ok. A really really good value at $10. My partner had lamb kebabs (we were hoping for the novelty of having them on an actual skewer, but they remove them) on a huge serving of yellow rice with a salad on the side, and also the nice large pita. I didn't taste it but he said it was great, and the meat looked really moist and tender. $13 I wish they served some type of cucumber-yogurt sauce with these meals, or perhaps you could ask for some. I don't know that they offer it. I guess I should look at the menu more - I'll be back to find out! read more

Unexpectedly tasty. I had the falafel combination plate and I was happy about each part. The tabouleh was so fresh and delicious and the felafel pieces were drizzled with a yummy tahini sauce.
