They would not honor a $75 gift certificate given to a family member because it was 10 days past the "expiration date" We were going to dine with a party of 8. We all said we would never patronize them as well as our friends. I personally wanted to speak with the owner however the person who was given the certificate as a teacher appreciate gift did not wish me to do so. read more

I ordered the lamb kebab which came with rice covered with a white source and pine nuts. Thesauri was tangy and delicious. Kebabs were perfectly cooked. Also there was stir fry onions and pamagranate cooked in a sweet sauce. All in all it was a delicious meal. Service was excellent and I ate outside because I had my dog with me. This is a family owned and operated business, and the owners have always made sure that we've all had a wonderful experience. From engaging with our children and help expand their palates when they were young, to actively listening to their feedback and making personalized recommendations based on their very fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant itself is rather intimate, but they also offer outdoor, pet friendly seating options. And then there is their baklava... I'd try to explain to you just how wonderful it is, but you'll just need to try it for yourself. During our latest visit we got to see their new Tasting Menu. I'd classify this as more of a take on Middle Eastern food rather than the actual thing. So for what it is and for what I had, the lamb skewer, it was okay. Portion was on the small side. The skewer was served on a bed of rice topped with yogurt and a side of hummus. The lamb was a nicely cooked medium, a little overcooked but still tender. The rice, however, was on the oily side. I kept feeling more and more grease on my lips as the meal went on. There aren't many tables inside, but there are almost as many outside for outdoor seating. Our waiter, the only one working the evening shift that day, was polite, quick, checked on us pretty well, and not forgetful. Overall, I'd give it another try. read more

This is one of our favorite places to eat. Their food is homemade, delicious, healthy and original. Best of all - these folks care about our community and practice EXCELLENT covid-safety precautions. Why would anyone eat anywhere else than great businesses who care enough to make sure people have a great dining experience and live to tell about it. My only complaint? They don't offer "all you can eat" baklava! That's probably because they believe in healthy moderation :) Seriously, though. Their baklava is SO wonderful! read more

I have eaten here many times mostly because my mom loves this place. I wish I could say that the service is excellent but it is not. I have found service to be inconsistent and even unfriendly at times. The food is good but I feel that it is way over rated. I know I know they are so popular and win awards. We went to Cedar's Cafe before a show at the King Center (Ben Folds). It was so close to the venue that the restaurant staff were well aware that the majority of their patrons needed to leave by 7:45 to make it to the show in time. They were extremely accommodating to the time constraint. The ambiance was interesting - perhaps more formal than the shopping plaza may have led us to believe. We started with hummus, which was alright but way overkill on garlic. As a result, during the concert, both my GF and I were experiencing severe garlic breath. The main course itself was pretty good, but maybe not worth the price. I got the Chicken schwarma, served over rice. I'd definitely recommend coming here before a nice night of music. read more

I really wanted to like this place after all the rave reviews but my rice and veggies were drowning in a super garlicky sauce (that wasn't mentioned in the description at all). The lamb skewers themselves were cooked beautifully and the hummus was quite good but the pitas were pretty mediocre. My dad got the mixed grill and the beef was similarly good but the chicken and kafta were just ok. It also was pretty overpriced for the portion in my opinion (tons of rice and veggies but not that much lamb). Maybe I just got the wrong thing but not sure I'll be back anytime soon to find out. read more

Best Lebanese/Meditteranean in the area. Perfect toum (white garlic sauce). Tender keftah cooked to perfection. The shawarma is succulent and juice, the meat is well seasoned. Just the right amount of tahini, and there is no skimping. I love the rice with a hint of lemongrass and sprinkled with pine nuts. It's a small place so I would recommend making a reservation if you don't plan on sitting outside--or getting some take out. We ordered the hummus and pita for an appetizer, the gyro for an entree and then the chicken shwarma as another entree. All the food was great. The hummus wasn't as potent as I have had at other places, and the pita isn't as thick, but this is true, authentic Mediterranean food if I ever saw it. The greek salad dressing is phenomenal, and their spices are as well. The only issue was that I found some of the meats to be a little dry, but nevertheless, great flavor, great sauces, and great dishes. read more

I absolutely love this place. Tony and her mom do an amazing job with selecting tantalizing dishes for their menu. I highly recommend the lamb salad for lunch and the falafel wrap. For dinner my favorite are the lamb skewers with seasoned vegetables. As an appetizer, I recommend the hummus and the grape leaves. Just fantastic in every way - food with a balance of unique spices, an intimate and classy ambiance, attentive but not hovering servers and very reasonable prices for the quality of food. One of my very favorites. Accessibility for handicapped is not great unless you choose to sit outside. A cane is easy, a walker is barely possible and any form of wheelchair indoors is not an option. This is a great place for a date or quiet dinner. Not a great place for younger children as they tables are close together and anything above a low voice will disturb other patrons. read more

Went here today from California my sister said great too start with the service was the worst never got refill on water she forgot plates silverware the soup tasted like rusty water the hummus the pita bread was from grocery store and low quality! The gyro was a joke nothing on that gyro was fresh I regret not speaking up! Luckily clientele's our old and taste buds are dead called to give tip to manager and she was just as fowl as food! Went there Saturday evening. Ordered a wine an appetizer, salad and main course. Told the wait staff that I did not want to be rushed and that I clearly did did want the next course brought out until I had finished the current one. Guess what: we hadn't finisher the appetizer when the salad appeared, remined the staff of my previously stated desire and they said fine, then before we eat half our salad out comes the main course: told staff to take it back until we were ready and was told they couldn't do that, I said they had too. All in all the food was mediocre, the service was awful and will never go there again, and unless that sort of service is acceptable neither should you: unless it's for a QUICK so-so meal. It's too bad as the last time the owner was there and the entire experience was great, sad to see such a negative change. read more

There are many positive reviews for this gem of a place, and I am not going to break that tradition. Yes, it's a cozy and tiny family run place in a dark corner of a shopping center on Wickham, but as was said before, it is REALLY EXCEPTIONAL!! The owner is truly of Lebanese origin, and really friendly, she's the chef and she will come out and chat frequently, depending on how busy she is. The non-family personnel there have told us that they are treated like family! A previous reviewer spoke of how she had ordered something and before the order was put in, a taste was given to make sure that it was something the she would enjoy. That was my first experience there, as well!! How cool is that?? We have had many of the items on the menu, kebabs, shwarma, hoummous, baba, etc. As previously opined by others, all are exceptional and cooked with love. Maybe it is me, but I feel that the best Middle Eastern food always seems to come out of Lebanese establishments. Small place but packed with flavor. Cedars cafe was a surprise. There is outside sitting which is nice, we visited around 5:30pm and it was very pleasant (by the way inside was very cold). I *love* this little gem of a restaurant. It's the tastiest, most authentic (errr, I think. I've never been to Greece or any other Mediterranean countries) Greek food I've had. The combination platters are fabulously fresh and delicious. The falafel has tiny bits of crunchiness that really add to the texture; its delicately fried, just enough to give it a beautiful crisp, but it's still light as whipped clouds. The fava bean dip and hummus are fantastic as well. But my favorite is the fluffy rice topped with some mystery ambrosia sauce. I bought a whole bunch of stuff and drove it three hours to visit a friend. After 30 torturous minutes amidst the delicious aromas, I couldn't help it any longer and ripped the bag open as best I could while still maintaining control of the car, and proceeded to scoop the spreads up with my dirty fingers into my mouth. Mmmmmmmmm. I was a little disappointed by the chicken pita and gyro, but that may because I ate them after they'd been refrigerated. Did I mention this place is dirt-cheap? For a New Yorker, anyways.
