    Potato skins

Cedar Tavern is hands down the best bar in the area. Best prices, best food. It's not quite a dive, but close enough, just without the sticky floors. Super casual, but always clean. They have a nice patio area as well. I love all of the bartenders who are attentive and no nonsense. I've never had a bad meal here. The potato skins are great: huge, full of cheese and always served piping hot. The menu has all kinds of appetizers, sandwiches and pizza. Sometimes the wait for food can be a minute but staff will always tell you in advance how long to expect on food and the wait is usually only when they are super busy or have a ton of carryout orders. The drinks are cheap and plenty, with a decent selection of local beer which is nice if you don't have time to make it to one of the breweries. One of my favorite things about Cedar is that it is decidedly NOT a tourist bar - something that's hard to find in the area. When you go there you feel at home. We've met several people there over the last couple of years, some of whom have become good friends.

We decide to point the boat in the direction of the cove to check it out and, if they had a dock, we would stop to get a bite and beverage. We pulled up and, sure enough, they have a short term dock for dining. We wanted to eat on the boat so we were able to get our order to-go. The staff member working outside was super friendly and helpful and assisted with getting our boat docked and giving us menus and a rundown of their offerings. Our group ordered fish tacos, hot dogs, coney dogs, pretzel bites, chicken fingers and fries. Everyone reported their meals to be very good! I had the hot dog and fries and the dog was HUGE. 36 minutes off my life well spent. Ha. Cocktails weren't available to go but we still wanted to sip on some tropical beverages on the boat so they were able to make them virgin. And they were really great! Lovely experience and I really forward to visiting again and enjoying a meal on site next time!

This is located on the South end of Lake Leelanau and on the water overlooking boat docks and Gas pump. The only plus is that it is on the waterfront. If you like high price Bar Food then this will be your go to place. We had there "Speciality Fish Taco's and Shrimp Taco. The fish taco was served on a small shell that could have been purchased at Walmart Grocery. The Walleye in the taco may have consisted of an ounce at most and was covered over with cabbage and dressing that made you think it was a vegetarian taco. When you get to the second one the sauce had soaked it so bad you could not even picked it up with out falling apart. The Shrimp Taco was over cooked/ boiled that it was like eating Rubber. The price was $17.50!! If eating on the lake is your thing there are other places on Lake Leelanau that will make you want to come back again. If you want to stop in for gas (7.50) a gallon and have a small soda drink for $3.75 then it a must stop for you. Tourist beware this will not be a dining experience that you will tell all your friends back home. Just remember I told you so. If you see great reviews just remember it is run by family, children and grand children so take the reviews with suspicion This has been under two different names in the past few years that should tell you something. Vacationers have a great time this summer and enjoy this beautiful part of Michigan.

I started with their Seafood Chowder ($10) this is said to be loaded with Shrimp, Clams and Crab. I could identify these things individually, however taste wise it was excellent.  I definitely wished the cup of it had been bigger. Price seems a little steep for portion size, but no complaints taste wise. I then ordered their Fried Chicken ($19) this had Golden-Fried Breast, Drum and Thigh with Mashed Potato and asparagus. The chicken was excellent, well seasoned and crispy, but still juicy. The asparagus was cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were undercooked. A little harder then I prefer them to be, but edible and at least it was real potatoes. The service was great. Super cheerful and helpful. They accidentally put someone else order on my bill and they corrected it with cheer. Overall a couple minor issues, but still a solid 4 star review for me. Would I return? Absolutely!

While we love great food, we are not "foodies" who do well with super modern/unique takes on classics - and after perusing many menus of different restaurants in the area, we felt like Blu was the right mix of fancy but delicious and classic and we were not disappointed! Pro tip: book a reservation and look when sunset is - we did the 8pm seating with the sun setting around 9-9:30 and if was amazing. They have see through blinds, but raise them up for the sunset and many people walk out to go take a picture on the beach right outside! It's a small intimate restaurant, so in general booking a reservation is advised. The gnocchi was amazing and so flavorful with sun dried tomatoes and succulent shrimp. My spouse got the lamb and really enjoyed the garlic and sauce Robert- and was so happy that it wasn't traditional mint sauce with lamb. The scallops were extremely rich with the asparagus risotto. We did split a crème brûlée which was just okay (maybe a bit too eggy in the texture?) , but they do use real vanilla bean and overall we were stuffed at that point. They have an extensive wine list, cocktail list, and mocktail list which I appreciated as a lady on her baby moon trip :) best Shirley temple I've ever had with real homemade grenadine made from real cherries! Staff is attentive, kind, and always checking to make sure you're taken care of. Overall, yes it's pricey, but for the delicious food, view, overall fanciness - I think it's justified and worth it for a special occasion! We would love to come back in the future.

The daily menu was crammed with the best local foods and in August when we visited that meant cherries, luscious vine ripened tomatoes, blueberries and more. In fact I hard a hard time narrowing down even the 4 salads as they all sounded fantastic as did the 10 appetizers. In the end we opted to share some things starting with the light crab "puffs" (really golf-ball-sized crab/rice cakes) which were delicious although a bit light on the accompanying sauce. Next we savored the small summer salad made with juicy dark purple tomatoes, fresh basil and slivers of mozzarella. Our entree was the pecan crusted white fish that was also nicely prepared. Note they add a somewhat outrageous charge for a split plate-around $16, so our fish ended up costing $66! For dessert we chose the turtle sundae festooned with crunchy toasted pecans and a house made caramel sauce. There's a nice wine list too. Service here was top notch with constantly filled water glasses and a very professional staff. I was really pleased and surprised to find a restaurant of this quality located in a tiny vacation hamlet. Highly recommended

There was live music out on the deck, and lots of outdoor seating (the weather was just a little cool on this day). His response was, verbatim: "If you owned a business, you would understand we are trying to turn tables." The place was half empty. Instead of simply saying they couldn't put the game on or that they needed the table, he escalated the situation and verbally attacked the dad in front of his kids, even calling him an "a-hole" for asking to watch the USA play in the World Cup at a bar and grill. That tells you everything you need to know about how this place treats customers. Rude, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary. There are plenty of better options in Glen Arbor.
