Terrible... low water pressure, next to no hot water, bed sheet was stained, elevator and hallways stunk of nastiness... all for $200/night. Absolutely terrible. read more

The price seems kinda high for what you get. Yes, you get into the park an hour early but not all the rides are open. The room was clean but the shower looked like it got skipped over. Black hair all over it (mine is blonde and husband has short hair). The beds are not that comfortable and the pillows hurt our necks. I usually travel with one of my pillows but I didn't have room for it on this trip. Since the hotel does not have a shuttle we will stay at a hotel a mile down the road next time. read more

I did not have high expectations of this place before I set foot in the lobby. Reason being is after spending 10 hours at Cedar Point, we just wanted a bed and a door that locked. That's about all we got at this place. This had to be one of the filthiest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. The bathroom floor was sticky, someone else's hairs were still in the room, and one of the beds in our room was wet. Eeeewwww. To boot, the mattress was rock-hard. Find another hotel in the area. read more

All of the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful, there wasn't one that didn't treat us with respect and I really liked that! It can be a little expensive if you reserve this hotel through third party booking (especially if you reserve it more than a week away from your arrival). So, I was expecting a continental breakfast at this place and they don't offer that and I think for the price you pay to stay here that that should be offered. The pool and little water park they have in the courtyard is perfect! Our kids lived in it the entire time we were at the hotel. This place is very clean as well. I do wish they'd provide more bedding and blankets on the bed, as they feel a little bare but they were still comfortable. The staff has no problem giving you extra hygiene items or towels if asked. read more

When arriving the manger was at the front desk and never greeted us. We did not feel welcome. After paying $180.00, we had to ask what our room number was, it was cold in the room and the carpet was dirty. I would not recommend this hotel. read more

We chose the Express due to the closeness to Cedar Point and they offer entry into the park 1 hour early. It was ok, and I am normally very particular. Room was clean, very friendly staff at the front desk & throughout the hotel. Wish they included a hot breakfast. read more

We wanted to be close to the park but not pay $300 a night. Hotel Breakers was half the price and also provided the perk of entering the parks early. It's about a 5 minute drive to Cedar Point Park (not walkable). Staff was very accommodating and helpful with directions and dining recommendations. Hotel is clean and rooms are pretty large. Comfortable beds and sizable bathrooms. Pool/hot tub is nice, nothing to brag about. Had a more of a motel kind of a feel but did provided us everything we needed. A small gift shop is located near the front desk and had just about everything needed for those items that you may have forgotten to pack. There are no shuttles to the parks, but they do provided you with a free parking pass, which is nice. I think next time we will pay the money and stay at a closer resort/hotel. read more

This was not a horrible place to stay. We stayed 3 nights at just under $400, taxes and fees included. The room was decently clean. There were some small things on the floor, as if a vacuum had not been used in a few days. The bathroom was the problem. Hair in the shower and urine on the toilet. Once the front desk was alerted, they did take care of the problem. There is a pool and hot tub. Not very big, but the kids enjoyed it after a long hot day at the park. If you have little kids, I would ask for a room with a window that does not face the pool. There were about 40 people in the pool till 11pm, screaming and partying. Kept my kids awake. TV was fuzzy on some major channels, NBC. Hard to watch Olympics. No breakfast offered. Free wifi. Free parking at Cedar Point park ($20 value per day). Get into Cedar Point an hour before the public. However, I found this worthless, because the rides that were to be open all broken or not open both days. They only had 1 ride working. All and all, if you can find a better priced hotel, it may not be worth staying here. read more

Loved the pool area but make sure to request a room far away from any entrance door. We stayed up all night listening to people come in and out. The door is VERY loud. They also charge $5 for a bottle of water like you are still in Cedar point. read more

Since this is a Cedar Point Hotel, you can actually gain access to the much nicer Breakers Hotel next to the park and the beach to swim in their pool and enjoy their beach. The Breakers Express was nice. It seemed like the same quality as a Holiday Inn. Everything was simple, clean and safe. There are large groups of kids and teens throughout the building so it gets kind of noisy. The early pass and the free parking at Cedar Point definitley makes up for any bad points. read more

Great hotel. We were greeted promptly at check in. Room was clean and well kept. Sadly we didn't get to experience the pool or splash of area because of cool temperatures and thunderstorms one night. Extremely close to the park. Would definitely recommend the place and most likely will stay again should we ever get to come back. Close to sports force park too. read more

Great place! Easily found and close to park. Staff was very quick and friendly, was checked in with in 2 minutes and on our way to the park! They sent us a text when the room was ready. Wish breakfast was included for $179. Got parking pass and tickets with our package. Room was very clean, updated flat screen tv, 2 beds, and the beds were very comfortable!!! Good to see they read the reviews and change things as needed. We heard no noise, we were faced towards the parking lot, first floor, near lobby. Wish there was a fridge and microwave, but we knew ahead of time that they did not have those. Wifi kept saying server not able to connect sadly.. Will be back!! Recommend read more

Our room was clean when we arrived but there was no cleaning service during our visit ( I guess they forgot us) so we ran out of toiletries and towels. We knew it was not a full service hotel but the they did not Even offer a complementary cup of brewed coffee in the morning. This is a basic service that should be offered for the price we paid for our stay. The surrounding hotels ( many at lower price) offered more amenities. including a complimentary breakfast. The woman who checked us in was not friendly and could not provide basic info such as where we should go for coffee and breakfast. read more

My husband and I came to cedar point 15 years ago and stayed here because it was affordable and had the amusement park perks. This time we brought our kids (they're finally talk enough!) and stayed here again. I can't remember any problems 15 years ago and this time was no different. We were able to call ahead (thanks Jeff!) and ask about early check in which was available yay! The staff Ari and Joe were really helpful in answering our questions and giving us park advice. The room was a standard 2 double bedroom overlooking the pool. While we didn't swim in it, other guests were enjoying it and at night the hot tub jacuzzi was full! There is a lifeguard on duty at all times too. We had plenty of towels etc. I needed to request more toiletries which were delivered in less than 5 minutes. I'd recommend this hotel to families who are visiting cedar point. The price is right and we were able to get discounted tickets and early entry to the park. The second morning my husband talked to the front desk staff who gave him a great tip since we were planning on hitting the water park too. Park at Soak City and take the shuttle to a side entrance for early entry which was located at the entrance of the newest ride Valravn! These tips made our vacation go from great to epic! The hotel also has free wifi which was a welcome expected amenity these days. We just came from staying in a Chicago hotel which advertised free wifi but it was free only in the lobby which really irritated me since we paid an arm and a leg. The only drawback was no hotel fridge. There is a new Kroger grocery store nearby and we would've liked to put our leftovers and snacks in it. Overall the staff, service and hotel room was exceptional! MAHALO Breakers Express! We'll hopefully be back soon! read more

Stayed here back in June for a Friday/Saturday trip to Cedar Point. I've previously stayed at non-affiliated hotels in the area and haven't had any bad experiences, but something made me book our stay at this location for this trip. First off, the location is excellent. Very short drive from hotel to front gate (although depending on the time of day the left turn out of the hotel lot can be brutal). Although, I don't see how I should need to drive as the price paid to stay here should absolutely include a shuttle. I mean, Breakers INSIDE THE PARK has a shuttle, what's with that? The room was cozy. This place ain't exactly meant for you to spend a majority of your trip in, You're waking up, going to the park, coming back and showering before you knock out for more CP Adventures. AC worked great (Much needed for this stubborn "I don't need sunscreen" guy). Everything seemed clean about the room. Room problems would be the poor wifi. Not sure if its overloaded or just not working right. T-Mobile doesn't get great signal in the area so I kinda relied on it and it failed me. Also, a mini fridge would have been fantastic, although I knew about the lack of a fridge prior to arrival so we brought a cooler and stocked it with dry ice from the Meijer down the road. Something about the actual building I really enjoy. I got the vibe that the place is a ghost town during the day because of all the thrill seekers are away. The pool is so small compared to the HUGE deck around it and very shallow. There was also a heavy layer of mayflies on the top of the water but I really can't blame the hotel for that, it was nighttime when they migrate toward lighting (including underwater lighting) and if you know anything about them bugs and that area, there are millions of them per square mile. The Hot tub at the pool area was great. Sipped on some adult beverages with other adults and made some friends. All in all, I can see myself staying here again although I'll probably check out another of their properties in the not so distant future. read more

My friend and I drove in from Chicago after the violent storms went through on June 5th. The park was closed on Monday June 5th. Cedar Point refunded our money for the tickets and gave us a free night at Breakers Express. Due to the storms, they didn't have to give us anything but I appreciate the way they went above and beyond to take care of us! read more

Prior to arriving at this hotel, I researched on Yelp to see what others had said. So needless to say I was hesitant about my choice of reserving a night for my family. Because my expectations were low, my husband and I decided to check in on our way to C.P. so that we could correct any issues before hand instead of on our return back at night. The resort ambiance was a pleasant surprise and I quickly surveyed the appearance of the hotel which I found to be clean and updated. Our room was modern, clean and we did not experience the issues others had complained about. We arrived around 1 pm and our room was ready for us. We found our specific bed comfortable and didn't have problems with the fitted sheet coming unsecured. It seems that this hotel has listened to its former customers and has made positive changes. As far as the vending machine. Yes, there is a vending machine near the hotel laundry area. The prices are normal vending machine prices found anywhere, so the accusation of the vending machines having C.P. inflated prices is inaccurate. We did not venture into the onsite store, but I assume the inflated prices will be found there. Other prior complaints include the non-functioning hot tub. We were blessed to have the hot tub at optional working order and it felt great on our tired muscles after a long day at the park. My husband noted the freezing pool temperatures. The only suggestions I would offer is for the $190 we paid for our one night stay, a continental breakfast to be included would have made this price worth it. There is no refrigerator as mentioned in other reviews, but there was a coffee maker with complimentary coffee. We did watch a little tv before going to bed, and the fact it was not an updated set did not bother us. We were not there to watch tv. To summarize, give this place a chance. They are trying to evolve. I would stay here again. read more

The staff was very friendly and welcoming right when I walked in and throughout the stay. The rooms are very nice, clean, and have been redone recently. The front desk worker, their name was either Cantaloupe or Cauliflower, either way they were magnificently helpful.

Loved the price and location. Not a five star hotel but who needs that when you are only sleeping there. We had a blast.

From the outside the hotel looks good. When we got to the room everything was clean. Beds are not great but all was fine. However, after a long day at the park, we came back to our rooms and it was not clean and the beds were not made. Garbage was thrown away and towels were changed, that's the only reason we knew they had come. I have never been to a hotel where bed were not made especially when we paid $350 for two night. This was not cheap. The only reason we decided on this hotel is because it's on the park's property and you can go into the park 1 hour early. Because they did make an okay impression they get this rating, but I will not be staying here ever again!! read more

Heading to Cedar Point for the day, this place seemed like a no-brainer: you can get a package with tickets and if you do, free parking at the park! The hotel was clean, as was the room, and the staff was friendly and responsive. The elephant in the room (and the reason for the low star rating) was the beds. They are very harsh, very old, and will send springs plunging into your body in parts you've never felt before (for example, I'm pretty sure I can now identify my spleen from the outside of my body). The floor was more comfortable, as would be the bathtub or perhaps your own car. I wish there were a real elephant in the room so I could sleep on that. They're warm and quite friendly too if you feed them and don't make them angry. The reason I'm making such a big deal about this is that sleeping is the entire point of staying in a hotel. Even though everything else was great, you would never say "my new car is great, except the engine misfires and won't go over 30 mph" or "I am in perfect shape except for the catastrophic heart failure." Those things really drag you down, and the sleeping arrangements are no different. Perhaps it's this way to get you to stay in their more expensive hotels in the park. I don't know. But next time I think I will just drop a couple extra dimes and try the Holiday Inn instead. Lying awake at 3:00 am I was actually tempted. read more

Hotel looked nice at first, but after a closer look in our room i noticed crumbs and bottle caps laying around on the ground around the bed and near the mini fridge. We purchased a package with the hotel that included food and drink wrist bands at cedar point, when we asked about it TWICE, once when checking in and once when checking out, the front desk workers assured us that we got the wristbands at the park. When we got to the park guest services told us we had to go back to the hotel to get them. The pool is catered to small children it's only 3 feet deep and there's no hot tub. read more

My Fiance and I stayed here for our trip to Cedar Point and for us it was worth it. We wanted somewhere to stay close to the park and it was reasonably cheap. Some perks were the hour entry into the park, free parking, the cheap park tickets, and easy entry to the park and back to hotel. It was nice because it is only a few miles from city center so if you want to explore you will have no problems finding your way. We will use this one again when we go back next year. read more

I had high hopes for this hotel but it fell short for the price point. Check in was sloppy. After getting my room key and getting to my room the front desk called and had me come back up to sign paperwork they forgot. I had to wait in line because of the staff's mistake. The room was very nice but was'st very clean. My kids loved the pool and splash pad. They had towels next to the pool. We came back from a long day at Cedar point and our room was never touched by housecleaning. Trash cans overfilling, no fresh Towles, beds were not made. At 11 PM at night, I didn't have the patience to call and have the room serviced. When we checked out I brought this up and the front desk staff's excuse was "people do not like the staff in the rooms on overnight stays." I told them had I not wanted the room serviced I would have put the Do not disturb sign out. Very disappointed in Cedar Point. read more

Worst hotel experience and rudest staff ever. Starting from check in when I asked the clerk if anything special going on in the area. She said "no". I then asked what to do in area besides Cedar Point. Her answer: "nothing". We then asked another client in parking lot for some good ideas to do in area and she gave us tips and we ended up at a local putt-putt. Oh, and that was because the WiFi there was so incredibly spotty and crappy we couldn't look up anything by ourselves, btw. Now to the real problem-- while we were gone playing putt-putt someone accessed our room and left vulgar notes. they claimed no cameras and according to their logs nobody entered room and nothing could be done. My child was very frightened and an attempt to move to another room didn't even help remedy his fears. I said we need refund and had to go as my child was having panic attack and crying and had to be taken out to the car. At this point he wanted to go home and even skip Cedar Point the next day. They refused a refund saying the total 3 hours we were there was past their policy to refund anything. They then wouldn't let me file a formal complaint she originally mentioned I could do. I called police in and the staff changed their story on how they handled everything and lied to police. Terrible experience and by far the rudest staff I've ever encountered. There is one star on here and that is only because I had to enter something. In reality, this place deserves negative stars. How creepy to not know who was going through our stuff. Also had to throw away opened food, snacks, drinks we had for park the next day. The front desk staff could have not possibly cared less about the whole situation. Rude. read more

We were forced to stay here as part of the guidelines for playing in a baseball tournament at Sports Force Park. The hotel was clean and well kept. The kids enjoyed the heated pool. But I wouldn't stay here again. I was 1 of at least 5 people on my floor who had items stolen from our room by the housekeeping staff. If you decide to stay here, lock anything of value up in the safe. I just didn't think I'd need to lock up my makeup. Lesson learned. read more

Your experience will definitely depend on why you are staying here. If you want a hotel that is close to the park and can offer you early admission, Breakers Express is the hotel for you. Taking advantage of early admission and/or discounted ticket prices is the only way to justify staying here. The rooms could not be more basic. Small TV, wifi was very slow when someone connected on the 10th attempt, no fitness center, no breakfast, ect. We had to switch rooms immediately after arrival because of a wet spot in the carpet that made the room smell. Come with low expectations and that will help. read more

There are bugs in the walls, pubic hair stuck in the corners of the bathroom, and spiders everywhere. The carpet is newer, but that helps little when it isn't vacuumed. The smell of mold is omnipresent. The second star is for the staff who were extremely friendly. The place is valuable only for its proximity to Cedar Point and the deals with the park they offer. However, if I were Cedar Point, I would be embarrassed to have this place associated with my name. read more

CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL AND FAST!!!! There was black mold covering the bathroom door, the shower curtain smells like a dirty kitchen towel, hair in the bathtub, on the pillows of both beds and on the toilet seat, crumbs in the bed, and dirt on the floor. Air conditioner smells like it is blowing straight black mold into the room! The beds feel like a park bench, rock hard and springy to say the least. (and this is just room #1) The lobby was terribly busy upon arrival with bugs crawling on the floor! The two girls working the desk were rude upon check-in and this hotel was WAY understaffed. We waited over an hour just to simply check into the filthy room! To top it all off when we complained about the cleanliness, they said they could change our room. The second room was IDENTICAL to the first filthy room! I was appalled! After complaining about the second dirty room the "manager" on duty that night, Kayla, was completely unprofessional and grabbed her keys to come down and observe the filth that we seemed to be complaining of. Once in the room with us, she was speechless, however still not going to take charge of the situation! Some manager she was. She along with her maintenance man agreed that it was dirty. She asked us if we had reservations at a new, different hotel and I said we would find something, and that we wanted a refund in full! She agreed and they left us to gather our belongings and to meet her at the front desk for the spoken about refund. Upon arrival at the front desk, the manager, Kayla, was hiding in the back room, refusing to come out to the front desk. In the mean time, leaving only one clerk to man the desk and the long line of new arrivals. After 30 minutes, she finally came out and spoke with us. (In the mean time I had booked a new room at the Best Western down the road, which was a very nice hotel incase you now need a new option!) Kayla stated that she had called her GM and that he would issue us a 20% discount and she would give us new sheets to make our own beds with, but that she could not issue us a full refund. I am sorry but if the room is dirty and not to my standards of cleanliness I expect, as the paying customer to go somewhere else. She refused to help us in anyway and told us to go to our room or we could leave the hotel all together without a refund! I refused to do that, so I called the Cedar Point Police dept. They arrived quickly and handled the entire situation for us, getting us a full refund from Breakers Express!! Allowing us to leave and go to a new hotel for the night. Thank god for getting a police report! This place is a real dive! No customer should ever have to go to the extent we did just for a refund! Honestly, our worst hotel experience ever! We will never be coming near here again and I will tell as many people as I can to do the same! Ridiculous Customer Service Hours of long waits Under trained staff Terrible Management! Dirty EVERYTHING! If I could give this place a real rating I would give it a negative 5!!! Stay far far away!!! read more

Called again and still no one Finally decided to go talk to someone directly and again was told to wait in that FILTHY room by the MANAGER! while they set me up somewhere else waited OVER A HOUR when I finally came back to the front desk where the manager still didn't have the room ready and seemed she decided to ignore and forget about us! Stayed here in late October. As usual, the beds were short sheeted. I asked if they could be remade so the sheets covered the bed, housekeeping argued with me. When he finally did it with a lot of attitude, I found that the sheets are actually too small to cover the mattress. I then noticed a lot of families bringing their own linens. For this price, we should not have to provide linens. We were issued 4 key cards .Only one worked. We had them reissued. We were given a total of 8 cards, only 2 ever worked. I did speak with manager on duty Saturday morning. She never made eye contact or spoke to me, just ran some more cards through the machine. With all the money Cedar Point is spending on rides and new hotel rooms, it would be nice if the sheets fit, the keys worked, and the management actually looked up from a computer screen. read more

So I get people love how close this place is to the park and that they have good deals on tickets but the rooms kinda suck. The wifi is terrible nothing would load or I would get SSL errors or not secure connection errors. There is no mini fridge so forget after the park snacks or if you wanted to pack a lunch for the park. Our room was cleaned twice and the tissues and hand soap were never replaced. The little connivence store in the lobby was closed because they said they did not have enough people to open it even though there were 4 of them behind the desk and all I wanted was a few donuts. The beds are rock hard and you can feel every spring. There are barely any lights in the room and the ones that are there are very dim. The air conditioner is either on or off basically and it just blasts while it's on. Overall for the price the room was not really worth it. But if you just need a place to lay your head offer the park I guess it's manageable. read more
