I've stayed at a loooooottt of Motel 6's in 20 years of travelling with pets. This one is one of the better ones. It features: 1) Indoor rooms with hallways and stuff! Not having your door face the parking lot and someone's idling motor is a huge bonus. 2) Laminate floors! Carpet in hotels is generally a disgusting idea, and having it in budget motels where it will rarely be replaced is even worse. 3) Near the highway! 4) Low price! It also features: 1) Those horrible adjoining doors between rooms that they used to build for a reason that probably seemed good once but that now simply leaves a paper-thing barrier between you and your neighbor who may or may not be blasting the TV at 1:30 am. On the whole: clean, well-equipped, decent beds. Would repeat. Hate the poor sound barriers between adjacent rooms, though. Burn that down. read more

Before I tear this poor motel to shreds, let me share some of the good: This motel 6 is located a stone's throw from the highway. The rooms were clean; the bathrooms had soap/shampoo, and it felt safe (just not much going on in the area). Staff were friendly and helpful too. Finally, free coffee and tea is truly appreciated - before continuing a day worth of driving, a little caffeine is just what the doctor ordered. Now the not so good: But first, story time! When I was a freshman in college, the dorm had a mattress not deserving that name. It was closer to a box of springs surrounded by several 'contractor' garbage bags. I was young and fairly bullet proof - plus I had bought a memory foam topper. I am now knocking on 30's door. My mother would tease me that I am a "princess on a pea". This started when I could not sleep on what I'd call a genuinely uncomfortable sleeper couch. Many years have passed since I tried sleeping on that wretched couch. Now we were making a 1,000 mile road trip, and my mother finally understood what I was on about. The beds reminded me of those abominations my college thought was worth nine grand a year (at the time). Springs covered by a feeble, thin fabric that exists only to keep people from sleeping on bare metal; lumpy, also. The pillows were very inconsistent - out of the three, some were much flatter (older) than others. Then there is the question of noise. The motel is directly across from a freight rail line, and some kind of large industrial facility. The train line speaks for itself, and the factory(?) emits a constant noise which isn't horrible, but not nearly as soothing as what comes out of a white noise machine. Light sleepers may struggle to get some decent sleep. Lastly, other than being just off the highway, the location has nothing going for it. There are restaurants around 5 miles away, otherwise it's McDonald's, Subway, and vending machine gourmet. But considering the motel's function, this is 100% forgivable. read more

I can definitely tell you that if you stop here, you are getting excellent customer service, fabulous housekeeping, and a great recommendation on where to eat. We were greeting yesterday by a wonderful front service desk lady who gave us a recommendation to eat at Jim's Pizza Box. We had a single bed room that was really clean, and the beds were made to perfection. Room 101 was nice and comfy. For a no frills hotel, there were plenty of frills. Vending machines with decent pricing, washers and dryers, and a computer in the lobby for guests. You won't get breakfast, but what you will get is real coffee. We have stayed in many hotels with crap coffee! The pictures they have on the website are exactly what you will see. Good job, Motel 6!!! read more

Was looking for a reasonably priced room to stay in for a last minute trip to Cedar Point. We chose the Motel 6 because it was pretty much one of the only hotel rooms available for under $150/night on a Saturday night. I don't remember the last time I ended up paying $100+/night for a motel, but I guess these are pretty typical rates for weekends around here because of Cedar Point. Checking in at 11pm was pleasant -- the lady at the front desk was very friendly and even paid me a compliment that I was wearing a nice watch, hah. Once we got to our room, our first impression was positive: the room was very clean, there was a flat screen TV and the orange colors and wooden floor was a nice touch. The bed was firm and comfortable, but my SO mentioned that the pillows weren't very comfortable and she was tossing and turning all night because she wasn't used to them. The bathroom also had a smell of smoke emanating from it, which in a non-smoking room was unexpected and unpleasant (we stayed in room 200). The faucet also made weird vibrating noises when you ran it for too long, but all in all - it was OK. I had a pretty comfortable night's sleep, although many channels on the TV didn't have a very clear picture (HBO, for instance). No free breakfast, but they do offer Folger's coffee free of charge in the lobby. It's also about a twenty minute drive away from Cedar Point itself, so it's not as close as you may initially think! read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by this Motel 6. It was clean, had a friendly staff and was in a safe location. We travel with our 2 dogs so pet-friendly is super important to us. The walls are indeed rather thin, as other reviews have indicated, but it didn't bother us too much. The bed was comfortable enough and it was right off the highway so it was very accessible. We chose to stay here during our trip to Cedar Point due to average reviews and the low price ($50/night). For what we paid, I am overall satisfied. We arrived a few hours before check-in and the staff was very friendly and accommodating to getting us a room. Definitely a huge plus. The room itself was very nice and modern. Probably my favorite part about the hotel! It was small, but did the trick. You can tell everything was new and renovated very recently. I loved the colors and wood floors! Very unique for a motel! The pillows were extremely comfortable, probably the best at any hotel I've ever stayed at. They gave us a mix of four or five hard and soft ones. TV was decent, however we noticed some of the channels were a little blurry. Also, it's worth noting that the bathroom was huge! They also had an hand held shower head which I prefer. I was impressed by the cool towel rack as well! My only complaint is the noise. It's one of those hotels that has a door that can connect to the room next to you. We not only heard the commotion from our neighbors room, but out in the hallway as well. The door didn't do that great of a job keeping noise out. It also didn't help that we were on the first floor. Stayed here with a friend, closest place to Sandusky with relatively cheap rooms. Like any other hotel in the area, they raise prices by $20 on Saturday nights, since that's when all the demand comes toward Cedar Point. I can't blame them, but I did not get $90 worth of room. The normal $55-$65 rates are more in line with what they have to offer. Much of the decor is dated, but rooms have big-screen TVs. I don't think they offer anything besides the room, the TV, and the price. That said, it was quite quiet for being next to a railroad and near the Turnpike interchange, so I have to give them credit for being a relatively cheap and reliable place to sleep. But I'd look elsewhere if I were going to stay for more than one night or if I wanted anything more than a room. P. S., the map location is wrong as shown. My friends and I decided to go to the indoor water park and we were looking for a low priced motel to stay for a night and we decided on Motel Six since it was close to the park. We booked two rooms online and when we got there we asked for we can have the rooms where there is a door btw the two rooms (forgot what it was called) and the receptionist was happy to find us the two rooms. I decided to stay here after a long day at Kalahari, I checked in a little late around 11pm to be greeted by bugs at the front door and at the front desk behind the lady checking me in. I went to my room and before I placed my belongings down I had two bugs run passed me which seem to be some sort of cockroach infestation. I refused to even sit down I went back to the check in desk and demanded my money back. I would Never recommend this place , it's dirty and has bugs. Please save your time and money. We stay at this Motel 6 every May and every September on our way to visiting family in PA. It is normally clean but sparse. Bring your own kleenex, for example, as there is none in the room. The TV doesn't ever work very well but was worse this time than usual. No channels really tuned in well at all. Luckily we were so tired that it didn't matter to us if we watched TV or not. A plus is that the motel accepts pets without an extra charge. Our dog is famiiar with the location over the years and "knows" where to go to find our room when we get to the building. My complaint is about the "new" $25 charge that is placed on your card and then credited the next day when you leave. I had to call to get this done in May as the credit wasn't done automatically as promised. This time, I was charged $26.14 with tax BUT the credit I got was only $25, the tax was kept. I have no idea what this $25 is for, no one can explain it. But it is irritating to deal with to get it fixed every time. I wonder how many people don't check their credit card accounts to catch these mistakes and how many $$ that Motel 6 gets to keep in error? read more

Having to make last minute lodging arrangements for a trip to Cedar Point over a summer weekend, all of the reasonably priced hotels closer to the park around Sandusky were booked, so I opted to stay at this Motel 6 location near the exit for the Ohio Turnpike. This location is typical for the "refreshed" Motel 6 hotels, with gaudy orange and white linens (I felt like I was sleeping inside a creamsicle) and wooden flooring. The refreshed look makes the room feel fresher, but what was clean, and importantly so, were the linens. Desk staff was efficient and courteous, but the room price was jacked up due to the circumstances of the weekend, which is why I settled on 3 stars instead of 4. read more

We originally were staying at Hotel Breakers to go to Cedar Point, but after receiving a room with a broken mattress and no assistance, we tried Motel 6. The room was very clean, although the toilet itself could have been a little cleaner. The rooms are updated with modern decor and laminate flooring (no musty carpet smell, yay!). The beds weren't spectacular, but they were still comfortable. I was very impressed with the quality of room for the price. Motel 6 is only a fraction of what Hotel Breakers is charging ($200-$300 a night) and it is way better. Although I wish it were closer to CP, there are lots of shops and restaurants on US 250 so you end up saving money on food as well. I've always stayed on property at Cedar Point, but after finding this hidden gem, we'll be staying here from now on! read more

Don't hit the "Book" button until you read the reviews. I tried to cancel my booking right after I made it. They would not let me cancel. I told them I had made a mistake booking the room, which I did. Now, I am stuck with the room. I tried to cancel with EXPEDIA as they suggested, after Booking the room on HOTELS.COM. Expedia was of no help, they just called the Hotel and the desk clerk who wouldn't let me speak to the Manager, called her in the meantime, knowing she was getting a call from Expedia. Pretty sad right? I tried to be nice and I tried to Cancel with CapitalOne who stated that they could not block the charge until it posts. Well, you know they aren't going to post it right away because they too know of CapitalOne's policy. So what do you do? You call Motel6 Corporate Guest Services at 800-557-3435 option #3 and you get someone who answers the phone named John. John tells you he is going to speak to a supervisor and he also turns around to call the Manager of the Milan Motel6. Apparently, Guest Services also has no pull or push with their franchisees. Tom Bodine, where are you when I need you? Apparently, from the reviews they leave the lights on to keep the cockroaches at bay. From the Hotels.com reviews on their own place they make reservations for these are the things I have to look forward to; Cockroaches were reported, very small rooms, tv's in odd places, will almost definitely smell of other peoples pets, but maybe the "WEED" smells will disguise that, then should I get hungry, I understand that other people's food is left in the refrigerators, and the shower doesn't work in room 203 (glad I requested a ground floor room). So, I tried every way in the world to just let them give me a refund. I tried with the MILAN MOTEL6, I tried with EXPEDIA.COM, I tried with MOTEL6 CORPORATE GUEST SERVICES, I tried with CAPITALONE to Protect their consumer from UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESSES. We had the best hopes for this place, I am a Yelper and my wife is not, she read other reviews about how nice it was after being remodeled. It looked nice but after a night visit, we changed our minds. I am only 5 foot 10, and my feet hung over the ends of the bed. It is loud as it sits next to a highway, and camper park. Lastly, we were quoted one price and at check in it was a $20.00 higher, it was late, we were tired, whats $20.00, also we paid cash as "CASH IS KING" for the two nights, and when checking out a day early, was offered a company check. I was a little hesitant after reading the other reviews on Yelp, but it turned out that this was the only motel with a vacancy so I didn't have much choice. Bottom line? Not that bad. I asked for and was taken to a very clean room. Bathrooms clearly recently remodeled. Entire facility is non-smoking. Guy at the desk at 1am was friendly and I paid the advertised rate. So what sucked? Just two (very important) things. 1) the beds feel like cots, have zero firmness, and made me sore in way that fourteen hours of driving didn't. 2) the walls, as noted by another reviewer, may as well not be there. You can hear every conversation in adjacent rooms as if you were there, and even worse, every door that's opened and slammed (they all slam!) feels like it's being done in your ear. If you manage to get past the bed and get to sleep, the thin walls will ensure that you don't get a good night's rest. read more

Lady at desk was crappy and rude and she put us in a room that needed work and should have never been given out to anyone, door wouldnt shut and dog hair was all over room and got all over our belongings, we called desk later and another guy said we should have never got that room cause it was out of order. Coffee they serve is nasty and they dont fill it. Pool has bugs and grass covering it as they dont clean it. 65$ is a ripoff! Avoid at all costs! read more

I was treated absolutely awesome when I checked in. My room has been cleaned spotless. In addition the hallway and the front desk area is extremely clean. my bed is really comfortable in the sheets and comforters are very clean and cozy. This is an excellent place to stay with my dogs. The only reason I am giving this a star is because the rooms were updated and decent. The service is absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. Both encounters were with Lisa she was unpleasant and simply RUDE. When we returned to our room on day two the beds weren't what I call made, more just had the cover pulled back. The motel is about 20 minutes from Cedar Point and you pass hundreds of others on the way. We will pay the extra money for better service and closer to the park next year, I highly recommend others consider the same. read more

This isn't the best and its not the worst. If you're just looking for a night stay with a shower, then it'll do. If you're staying any longer and want a little extra, look somewhere else. No fridge, no microwave. Wifi didn't work. Employees were insanely unprofessional. They made vulgar comments to one another and were loud, as if they weren't working at all. My son , a friend and I stayed for two nights 6/7 and 6/8 I was really pleased with the room . The bathroom looked as though it had never been used. My brother and I chose to stay here after a long day at cedar point, unfortunately the hotel has paper thin walls, with doors slamming all night, that literally rattled our room, footsteps upstairs sounded like an earthquake, and the blankets were the same kind they give out in a homeless shelter, 6 car alarms went off last night, God knows why.. and the whole hotel smelled like some real stale foot fungus. We stopped here overnight on our trip to Green Bay WI from RI turned out to be pretty good. Not much to say this is a very cheap place to stay only $45 per night this included 2 beds and a TV(it was broken but was fixed they took $10 off for it). It's surpringly clean for the price coming from RI we know Motel 6 to be a place for drug deals and stabbings but this one looked good so we gave it a shot. P.s. Stayed there last weekend since my husband was attending his class reunion nearby. We booked 2 nights online and the price was so reasonable! The staff were pleasant. The room was clean and seemed to be updated. No loud neighbors. Wifi connection and TV were great. The shower was really awesome. I just wish I would have packed some thick, soft towels! I'll start with the positives. Price is fairly cheap for the area however remember the old adage " you get what you pay for." For a cheaper chain this location or atleast our room 109 was very clean. The air worked very well. Nice & modern with a flat screen tv & wood floors. Our room had a microwave & fridge however from other reviews I gather not all rooms do? Now to the not so good, one bed was more comfortable then the other. The room itself although very clean & modern it was very small so I would guess a family with children for any more then one night of simply sleep would feel on top of each other. There is no coffee pot or hair dryer in the room. My biggest complaint & the main reason I will never return to this location is the tv & the fact they only have attenna channels & because of this when I did find something I halfway found interesting to watch I finally gave up after 30 minutes because the station kept going in and out. I find it very strange for them not to have basic cable and even at the $65.99 a night bfor taxes I think basic cable is something we all come to expect when we stay in a hotel/motel. I'm not sure if all motel 6 locations are like this but this location was. If you can deal with no real tv viewing choices and small spaces this hotel is actually fairly good but if you can not then you will be better off to go else where. We booked this room for two adults and a child so we could stop and sleep on our trip to Michigan. We checked in around 11:30pm. We got to our room and it was nice; "wood" lament floors, bright room colors, clean and ready for us. Beds were a tad hard but what hotel doesn't have hard beds? This is one of the modernized locations without the carpet. Front desk staff was friendly at night and in the morning. There's a Subway and McDonald's nearby, and they have a few vending machines. Wifi in the rooms, as compared to other locations in the chain that only have it in the lobby. I was moving across the country with two cats, and Motel 6 always accommodates travelers with pets without a fee. Their modern locations with the hard flooring make traveling with animals much easier in the case one gets sick or has an accident. Overall, really pleased for the price. read more

This place was AWFUL!!! I was driving from Boston to California and the plan was to drive as far as we could each day and stop when we were tired. This motel was definitely cheap but I would have rather paid $10-$20 more and has a decent nights sleep. There were no cars in the parking lot when we pulled up which should have been our first hint to keep driving. The girl at the front desk put us in the first room right next to the front desk even tho literally every room was open. This would have been fine if the walls were not paper thin. We could hear EVERYTHING going on in the hallway all night. I was woken up every hour by someone talking while walking either in or out of the building. The room was VERY basic it looked like it had not been updated in about 30 years. The next morning when I went to shower I noticed as I pulled the shower curtain closed that there was mold all on the inside of the curtain. GROSS!!!!! The bathroom its self smelled like cat urine, but the mold? That just shows that they don't clean. Because of this bad experience we avoided all motel 6 the rest of the way across the country. There are plenty of other Motels in the area I would suggest not choosing this one read more
