Probably the best pedicure with the best service I have gotten! I'm visiting from our of town and came here for a pdicure with my best friend. We got chairs right next to each other and the pampering began. Most spa peducures I've had in the past included the foot bath, pedicure with leg massage, and nail painting. All of the extra ammenities here were great. They dipped our feet in wax, which made them super smooth. We got flip flops to take home so or paint wasn't ruined. NEVER going back!! The lady who did my nails literally burned my nails with the dremel tool. My nails got so hot I had to snatch my hand out of her grip because it felt like she was burning a hole through my nail. She acted like it was no big deal--went to the next nail--same thing happened and she scolded me for moving my hand away because she could have cut me. I would have rather her cut me than feel that hot lava burning grinding pain on my nails again. I wish I remembered her name...I was so upset and in tears. This was a few weeks ago and I'm just now able to write this review. I'm literally "scarred" from this experience...I will NEVER go to this salon or ANY salon if it requires them using the dremel tool on me. I'm deathly afraid of them now after this experience and actually have nightmares about it. I went to Cedar Nails today and was disappointed with my experience. I have been several times before and it has always been fine but this time I had Cici and it was a very uncomfortable experience and in fact the worse I have ever had. I go to the nail salon to relax, and Cici was yanking my arm and not being gentle whatsoever. She also was reprimanding me for talking with my sister who was next to me. Telling me not to smudge even though I was completely sitting still. She also cut one of my fingers and left fingerprint marks on my nails because she kept touching them to see if they were dry. I felt that she was rushing to keep up with the pace of my sister's nail technician. I won't be going back here any time soon. There are to many nail salons in the area to deal with this. Went on a Sat afternoon with no appt. and they were very busy, but got.me right in for pedi and.mani. my tech was clearly new as the other workers watched her like a hawk, pointing out steps, but she was very good. Great find. The ladies are really nice. Their service is wonderful and prices are great. The mani and pedi included paraffin wax, and you get a little shoulder/neck massage as well. Would definitely stop in again when I'm back in the area. Coming from Cali where most of the shops are run by Vietnamese ladies who gossip as they work (I can say this as I'm listening to the conversations, it's great when you don't look Vietnamese but know the language), finding a location with Chinese ladies who focus on you and keep the side conversations down is wonderful. My friend was telling me about this place and I've never had a pedicure so I wanted to go somewhere good. They just opened 6 month ago and this place is fantastic. The people are very pleasant. I received such great service. The pedicure was $30 where I waited on in the massage chair. I received a wax, massage and when my feet were drying. I got a back and neck massage which was dearly needed since I just came from Crossfit. Very nice and clean. Large screen TV if you care to watch. Everything and everyone was so nice. All of the staff was sincerely friendly, the shop was spotless and I just felt so relaxed and comfortable the entire time. This place is beyond amazing. I received the most in depth pedicure (which is their basic). Stacy was my technician, she took her time and the massage chairs were wonderful. It even included paraffin and leg and foot massage for only $30! I loved it so much I decided to get a manicure because with a pedicure it was only $10! This included paraffin as well AND they give you a full neck,shoulders and back massage with a hot roller/mitt thing. Their customer service and expertise was out of this world. And they want you to be truly happy even if you change your mind on color, etc. I got another massage while drying my nails and I couldn't be happier! Hello Guys, I just want to start if by saying I HATE writing bad reviews. I was really excited to try this place out because 1. It was recommended and 2. the Yelp reviews. I first came to Cedar's on Monday, yesterday, for a mani. I was told they only do shellac and not gel. I was fine with that. The nail tech who worked on my nails was very patient given that the place I got my nails done previously messed them up. She did a great job and I got all the bonus stuff. My bill came to a whooping $52.45. I was shocked because I'm from San Diego and with that price tag I could have gotten a full on design or a full set! Since I was a first time customer I got a $10.00 discount. Still too much for a mani on my real nails. Then it was downhill from there... By 7:30, 4 of my nails had chipped! I was really frustrated because that has NEVER happened! I tried to be as careful as possible and not make matters worse so I can show them the next day. So today, Tuesday, I go in and thank god they fixed my nails. I was so nervous getting there and talking to them because I hate being that customer. Everything was fine until I got in bed and realized that one of the new nails has chipped once again. Two stars because it's overpriced for shellac nails that chip within a couple hours. Would have loved to give this place a 5 star review since I go here often, but I was very disappointed with my last experience. I got a powder manicure and noticed one of my nails wasn't painted all the way so I went back and asked them to fix it. They did, but also had to take off 4 of my other nails and redo them because they were flawed as well. The 2nd time around, my cuticles were cut to the point of bleeding and it was very rushed and painful. I regret not having checked them before I paid because they were not full-price worthy. Abusive staff, but good quality shellac mani pedi. I went to Cedar Nail Spa for a pedi/gel mani after work to treat myself on a Friday afternoon. I was hopeful for a positive experience. Instead what I found was the opposite. Winnie was doing a pedi on the lady next to me and was gossiping about customers with the other staff in another language...so uncomfortable. If you don't believe me just turn on the translator app on your phone next time you go and see what is said. Not a huge deal at first, even though I was one of the customers she was talking about. The rest of the staff seemed nice enough at first, but then the male employee that did my shellac mani and regular pedi also became mean! He was very impatient and physically rough with me during the mani. He kept barking at me "again!" when it was time to put my hands in the UV light to the point that other customers were staring at us. Then he would shove my hands with force to cue me that it was time to put my hands under the light or to switch hands. Finally, when it was time to end the mani with a massage, he did a decent back rub, but ended it by punched me with closed fists in the shoulders pretty hard. I have a bruises. The craftsmanship of the mani pedi was decent, but he did not ask how I would like my nails shaped and missed the callousses on top of my toes even though I asked for and paid for callous removal. I brought my own polish to use and he kept it. Next time, I'd rather go somewhere less abusive when trying to decompress after a long day at work. It's hard because most of the nail spas in the area offer the same low quality experience. At least there weren't loud children to distract the spa experience like other nail "spas" in town. read more

Well I USE to love this place! Once Ada left it has gone down hill, and today was the straw that broke the camels back. I went in for a mani and pedi, they knew I was on a time schedule and they were very accommodating. Until it was time to pay, the nail tech like normal showed me the bill which was $60 for a gel manicure and pedicure, tax was $3.81 I told the gentleman Joe that I was going to add the tip on my credit card, he asked the amount so I told him $10. After he ran my card I noticed my new total was $74.45 so when I asked they said it was the tax, so after I explained that you can't tax my tip they clearly did not understand and argued with me that it's a tax. So they have now lost a loyal customer over $.64. JUST BE AWARE OF YOUR CHARGES WHEN YOU DO GO THERE! read more

Finally getting around to reviewing my favorite new place. I've been a customer for about 3-4 months now, and I've never been so impressed by a nail salon! New and tastefully decorated(but even more importantly, spotlessly clean!), Cedar Nail Spa not only gives the best mani-pedi around(truly, the best I've ever had!), but they also give the best customer service around! Extremely friendly staff that remembered me after my first visit, everyone is all smiles here and rush to greet you, which just contributes to the lovely atmosphere they've created. I adore the new Shellac gel nail color(no more fake nails!) and I've always had a lovely job of it done here(nails are completely dry and smudge-free after just a few minutes with the Shellac!). I HIGHLY recommend this salon if you're in the area(although it'd be worth a drive from anywhere at this quality and price)! read more

I went in to Shellac polish and I received two back massages during the whole process. It really took me by surprise and I enjoyed every bit of it. The price was very reasonable. People were very very nice. After doing some reading I've realized the cleanliness just wasn't up to what I would hope. I won't go back because when they do a dip color they dip fingers directly into the jars (no washing hands first). They did this right after cutting my cuticle causing it to bleed a little so I was kind of grossed out, and read about proper procedures. Also did not take cuticle trimmers out of a sanitized area and put them right back in a dirty case after me. Guests seemed really happy so this is just my preference for cleanliness I guess. read more

I HAVE to brag!!! I am not a regular nail place/spa goer, BUT, today i decided to get a manicure and i noticed a new salon in the Goodwill Plaza in Groton off of Long Hill Rd. The Salons name is "Cedar Nail Spa", its been only open for a week and they are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Now a manicure is only $12 but i truly received a VIP treatment. She did a paraffin wax and while the wax was drying she gave me a 10 min back and shoulder massage, first with a hot stone and then with her hands and arms! I was in heaven!!!! She took the wax off and massaged my hands and forearms a bit more! All for $12!!!! I will be making a weekly trip there! :) It is very nicely decorated, clean, they are very friendly and very reasonably priced too!! read more

Went here after reading the reviews and couldnt be happier. I need to have a set if nails taken off then new polish put on. I was welcomed as soon a s I came in the door. Once at a station water was brought over. They did a good job taking their time as to not cause any discomfort. While waiting for the nail polish to dry they did a massage of my neck and shoulders. Overall would highly recommend and will most definitely be returning. Prices were very reasonable too. read more

The lady did a very nice job with my gel nails and pedicure. The massage was great. But and this is a big but...... It was pretty clear the tools were lying around in a pile being reused from one person to the next.. When I asked her about it she tried to quickly put the tool in a little glass jar of disinfecting solution. Just praying I don't get anything from this risky situation. read more

I get powder manicures here every 2-3 wks. they are fast and efficient. I can usually just walk in and get in. I love the wax and massage! they are all very good and have HGTV on all the time! I also get pedicures in the summer and u still get wax and massage. their chairs for peds are also massage chairs. read more

The person that did my pedicure did an so so job, but my ankles were still a bit dry and the cuticle was not pushed back good enough. I talked to the owner and she did not make it better...no concern for customer satisfaction. Some are good technicians but you never know who you going to get next time you go. Area woman (good customer & tipper) has been going fairly regularly for a few years (mani and/or pedi) & knows that all businesses have good & bad days. Having been in service industries I've always made an appointment which helps usually as lots of "walk-ins" ; sometimes not so much and agree with earlier poster that it has gone downhill-frantic, almost, with no visible management around as several of nicer, easy-to-communicate-with women have moved away (or elsewhere?). This week went for a shellac mani (with a midweek appointment at a "not peak" time as had a volunteer job to go to). Had to sit for 10 minutes in waiting area then 10 more minutes at station. With no operator in sight I asked the person who'd "greeted" initially me when I'd be started as he walked past- "We're busy"-reminded him I had an appt.! "If you don't like it go elsewhere"! Okey dokey, message received, will do. Too bad as there are several really good & sweet people there with nice service for reasonable price. I think this place is all about the money, I think they put on a show. The pedicures are so inconsistent and I had one worker put my second toe behind my big toe, this hurt really bad so I said no, and she did it again. And whats up with jamming your elbow into people's backs? They do this really hard while polish is drying, not to mention how some workers give you a much better leg massage while others slap and with hand in fist, hit your leg, this is NOT a massage! Never going back again, gave it about 8 tries, maybe one was professional quality. read more
