Terrific Service and a Transferable Lifetime Warranty. I just had Castle install 9 more windows to replace 2 Andersons and the remaining Peachtree. This gem a local architectural salvage joint is 100% volunteer run. They do the work because they believe in the mission which is sustainability and keeping midcentury and vintage and the occasional antique items out of landfills. Keeps dollars in a well planned Reno budget too. It is NOT overpriced. They sell hardware by the pound and take whatever Home Depot charges and halves it or more. Occasionally there is a unique or valuable item and they sell it for whatever comps online show it to be "worth". Outside of the landfill these materials and items can be sold for substantial savings to consumers who prefer the second hand market (for whatever reason). However, in order for the place to survive, they have to make enough money to keep the overhead going. I'd rather give my money to a local nonprofit than a big box mass manufacturer any day. I love ecclectic designing and bohemian mixes. Prices fluctuate as does the inventory. All of my lighting fixtures in my 1947 cape cod style home were purchased here. I buy all the lumber for my DIY projects and enjoy the creative process of making it work with what I can salvage from their multiple piles of very usable lumber, flooring, tile, doors, a few appliances, windows, copper pipe remnants, hardware and more. They negotiate and if you think something is overpriced take a walk over (or search the web) to Home Depot and see what they're charging. If you can find a comparable item (actually comparable, most stuff now is made of junk wood while mid century stuff may be hardwood; not the same!!), ReCONN offers it either half the price or less. But the sad reality is prices are going up everywhere. That's not a local non-profit's fault, I assure you. I am also a local artist. I have been buying tile and wood scraps here for over 10 years to use as canvases. I do think the location is UNDERUSED by local recycled materials artists and I'd love to help spread the word. Local contractors know about it! The word is spreading among local DIYers. We should all support this local nonprofit: by donating our usable materials Shopping here for materials; they do have vintage or rustic or the occasional antique fixture, door and hardware Volunteering a couple of hours a month helping the core volunteer crew haul stuff around and tidy up. Once a local, neighborhood gem like this is gone, it's gone. It takes with it decades of heart and soul from the people who kept it going this long. Spread the word, support sustainability. Help nonprofits keep usable materials in our community. Protect our planet. Find yourself some cool 1960s cabinets for the Italian family basement kitchen!

I usually do not write reviews on bad companies, but I feel I need to warn others how bad they were. I ordered a load of drywall and stated that it needed to be hand loaded into the garage as the site was not accessible by boom trucks. I asked for it to be in three Piles according to size. They charged me for an extra guy, understandable and said that would be no problem. The house has a two-car garage and I have a manlift parked in front of the left bay. I left the right bay open for them. The tried backing the truck down the driveway and onto the front yard which was all mud. The truck got stuck so they spent two hours and some of my lumber to get it out. they then decided instead of doing it by hand he would try the forklift which he also got stuck in the yard. The yard looks like a war zone at this point and they haven't even unloaded any drywall yet. When they started to unload it they must have decided it was too much to carry so they loaded what they could in the garage with the lift. They couldn't load the last pile as the other side had the manlift in front of it and they didn't want to carry it so they decided to try and push my manlift with the forklift causing damage to the lift. At which point they dumped the pile in the driveway next to the lift. When I complained to their manager they told him there was not enough room on the side of the lift to walk, and there was not enough room in the garage for the last pile that is why it took 4 hours to deliver. They also said they got stuck because the lift was in the way. They drove the truck off the driveway 100 ft. before the lift so it wasn't the lift in the way it was incompetence. Where they said there was not enough room to walk they were able to put the last 4'x12' pile of drywall with the forklift. And lastly my wife and I carried the pile they left in the driveway into the place in the garage where they said there was not enough room, the next day without moving the lift. I explained all of this to the Manager looking for an explanation and he said that instead of canceling the delivery when they didn't feel they could do it, and rescheduling, they decided to tear up the yard, damage my lift, leave the drywall in the yard and tell me it was my fault. All he could offer me was an apology and didn't seem concerned with the damage to my lift. The delivery guys are lazy and incompetent, the managers are rude and unprofessional, and the overall service deserves less than a one star. I would never use this company again for anything and I highly recommend builders stay away as well.

I waited over one month before the stone was delivered. Much to my disappointment they had delivered the wrong stone. The stone looked pretty good on the steps so I decided to keep it and work with what they had sent me rather than wait another month or better for the correct stone to be delivered. Because the stone that they did deliver was smaller than what I had originally paid for I ended up running out of material with my steps 3/4 of the way completed. I visited the store and ordered some more of the stone that got delivered. Today is exactly 2 months after ordering (paying in full at time of purchase) and I still have not gotten my stone. To make matters worse I have tried calling several times and nobody answers the phone, I have left messages and they do not return the calls. Today I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully I will be able to have my stone delivered or get a refund. If you are considering using this company to purchase materials, I strongly recommend against it.
