I paid $35.00 to start the process of having 2 storm doors installed at my home . it took approximately 18 phones calls & many text messages to get the measurer to my house only to find out a week later only 1 opening was measured ....this led to another wave of calls & text message. after paying in full it was another 6-7 weeks to get an installation date. I drive back to CT from VT the night before and receive a text message telling me installer will b arriving from 11-1pm . At 11:30 am a text saying they have cancelled installation for today . After several more phone calls I've pretty much had it . I called Lowe's to ask for refund after nearly 3 months when this all started . I can now see why the reviews for Lowe's Home Services are so poor. the very poor customer service I received were not the exception but the norm . I've been a Lowe's customer for about 25 years and have spend well into the 6 figures with materials & Appliance sales over the years . Their rewards program is in a scam as you really do not receive monetary rewards on your purchases ; only from American Express for using their 5% back cc card. I have requested a refund after all of this exceedingly Very Poor Customer Service that is apparently the norm not the exception. I would not recommend Lowe's home services to anyone. read more

Honestly it's not worth it. Don't bother trying to order anything for curbside pickup. Just order from Amazon. Their app has no idea of stock stock levels and the app does not necessarily have access to correct the order. When you have to call this Newlington location it can take you 5 or 6 phone calls to finally get a service person. All they are willing to do is cancel the order rather than get you the item at the advertised price some other way. Not this first time this has happened. read more

I had an issue with an appliance that I bought in anticipation of a kitchen makeover. I didn't have it installed for months due to illness. When we finally opened the item it was damaged. It had obviously been damaged before it was packed. The wrapping and box were pristine. Brought it back, didn't have receipt. They couldn't find in my charge card history. Called card company they said call Lowe's, Lowe's told me call card company My installer called the store, asked to speak to appliance manager. Alyssa Clausell answered the phone. She said please bring back to the store and ask for me. In 15 mins I was on my way out the door with a new appliance. Alyssa was friendly and very competent. All we needed was an AC that we picked out online (which was readily available on several pallets near the dishwashers). My wife sort of wondered if they could cut us some blackout shades for our guest room and why yes, yes they can. I didn't catch the name of the incredibly sweet woman that helped us but she gave us the options (price and quality) and when we made our decision, told us to give her five minutes and we'd be all set. During that time I was seeking the self service key maker and a super helpful guy guided me to the weird pocket where that machine moved to. Excellent staff all around. read more

Lowe's you literally disappoint us. Bought a washer a dyer, stackable. Bought the "kits" fast forward to delivery of yesterday 2/1. Guys show up(2 hours after delivery window) bring dryer to the door, call us out to looks at the 2 dents at the bottom- they told us that they marked and made warehouse aware of dents, that we should calls Lowe's where we purchased Items and they can replace or give a discount. Ok thanks. Bring in washer, call us over to laundry room we look .... My husband says "so you guys don't stack them" the guy says " you didn't buy the kit" uh yeah we did we were told EVERYTHING was in the install kit!! He tells us go back to Lowe's and they will give you everything and set us up to come back. Head to Lowe's - nope we paid for another kit... and told by operations manager you have to call the warehouse to get discount and set up install .... Ok we'll call today 2/2. This warehouse says no damage was reported there is nothing they can do. We ordered BRAND new machines... not damaged machines....so pick them up and refund us. LOWES NO MORE! You guys are horrible at customer service and should be ashamed! read more

I really like this Lowe's store. I ordered something for pickup and they have these cool storage lockers where you park in a designated pick up space, walk in, scan the email in your phone, and it unlocks a corresponding locker where the product you purchased is. I was in and out in less than a minute and it was wonderful. Highly recommend! read more

If you go to Home Depot, you'll be greeted at the door, and there will be lots of employees (mostly knowledgeable, some not) offering to help. If you go to Lowe's, you'll be met with... crickets. Employees seem to actively scurry away to avoid interacting with customers. If you do track one down, they won't know where anything is. I have to go to Lowes once in a while, because they carry fence/gate parts that HD doesn't carry. But it is such an unpleasant experience. read more

As far as Lowes locations go, this is a hot mess. While the employees I've dealt with are totally well intentioned, they've directed me to the completely wrong end of the store on multiple occasions. Last time around, I was looking for a simple funnel and had three staff members tell me three different spots to find it (it ended up being in a random part of the seasonal section). The registers regularly seem short staffed despite tons of employees milling about (most seeming to avoid the whole area). Overall, I'd stop here while running errands on the Berlin Turnpike but I'm glad this isn't my usual Lowes stop. read more

This is the best hardware big box store in the Hartford area. Their selection especially for items like trees, plants and vegetables far exceeds all the Manchester and Bloomfield stores and the Home Depot a mile away. For the most part the people here are more helpful than other locations. I feel like on occasion though you can still look completely lost, walking through the entire store without one person asking you if you need help. Keeping them from a 5-star is their name brand selection. Lowe's as a whole is cutting back on their name brand's and selling more Kobalt which I think is a Lowe's trade mark. Lowe's used to sell Jackson but they have cut back on that. Still there products are better than Home Depots for 7 out of 10 items. read more

On 7/22/2023 I purchased a new Frigidaire from Lowes and had it delivered to a property of mine in Berlin CT. It arrived a week later, and I immediately called the store because the top door would pop open fully every time the refrigerator door was closed. I was given the phone# to the manufacture and was told to address it with them. I call Frigidaire, registered the unit and they said they will send a repair person out in about 1 week. They sent a kid working for a company called Boston Joes (860-646-1111) named Tony. He couldn't repair it and advised to prop up the unit more on my own and weight the door. I asked him to put on the repair order he could not fix it and he refused. I explained to him that we already lost over 600.00 dollars in frozen food and he said he can't help. I now go to Lowes and speak everyone in the appliance dept. over three trips there with no solution in sight. They promised a person named Sam will be there Tuesday morning to see about it and he never showed up. Now they said they can't replace it until they pick up my unit first allowing my food to perish. Then they say I have to deal with the Manufacture directly because it is over 24hrs. Now they said Boston Joes repair will be in touch to come out again. I offered to pay for another unit until the defective one is returned so my food won't spoil. They said everything is changed with Lowes and they now operate like Amazon with regards to problems to save money and to compete in a new market. Installer came November 7 2021 took out my old door and installed the new door that was wrong and not operating properly. Said that he would get it corrected. The absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had. Husband and I bought a new house and needed 3 bedrooms of carpet and a stair runner installed. Called Lowes and they said someone would contact us to come measure the rooms before we can pick out the carpet. We made an appointment via text message with an installer, and not 1, not 2 but THREE people came out to measure our home, NONE of them being during the appointment time we made. We called Lowes and they said it would take three to four days before the installer communicated the measurements to them. (what??) Called back 4 days later and they said we need to come in to pick the carpet. We went in, picked the carpet, and they said it would be a few weeks before the carpet was delivered to the installer. After that, absolutely ZERO communication about the carpets and when they would be arriving. My husband and I called probably 5 times only to be 1. put on hold for upwards of 20+ minutes, 2. told that the manager wont be in until later, 3. endlessly ringing phone, 4. transferred between departments with no real answers. Finally, we called installation services and were told our 'runner' was holding things up, because it wasn't properly seamed. SIX WEEKS after beginning the process, and after numerous calls and complaints, they came to install our carpet and IT WAS THE WRONG CARPET. (And my husband and 2 year old were all living in the dining room because we couldnt move our furniture into the bedrooms they were putting carpet in) I'm currently on phone call number 7 with customer installation trying to get this resolved with compensation for this nightmare. I keep getting the answer "A manager will contact you about this request" with not ONE phone call from management so far. read more

There is a great parking lot here, no worries about finding a spot. I have visited this location twice recently because a close friend of mine has just purchased a new home nearby and we are helping her with several projects to get the place ready. The selections have been really great, there were tons of options for bathroom sinks, countertops, vanities, and faucets. Many of the options had great matching accessories available which included towel bars, lighting, and toilet paper holders. We had a great time picking everything out from the displays but when it came time to find the boxed merchandise and get it on the cart we had difficulty. There are buttons in each department that you need to push if there is no one there so that it will page someone. The page went through 7 times before we nabbed an employee walking by and she finally went and go someone to help. Once help was there it was really easy for him to help us find what we needed and he helped us find one comparable item that our original choice was out of stock on. We were also in the market for bathroom tiles and we did find a great variety of bathroom tiles for each bathroom and everything you need to go with it from spacers to different colors of grout. Paint was easy to get also since my friend knew what colors she needed and what types of paint. We just needed to wait a few minutes while it mixed. Check out was a bit of a hassle because the cashier had to scan every tile...there were a lot. 4 huge carts and over 2 grand later we were not asked if we needed help loading everything into the trailer. We did have a pretty good experience though, I won't be avoiding this store. read more

This review is specifically for their install dept. 3 weeks into a process of trying to buy custom blinds and still no results. Took 2+ weeks to have someone out to measure. Been Almost a week since then and still no quote. Every deadline has been missed. Calling there is beyond frustrating- CSR's answering the phone have a range from kind of helpful, to totally indifferent, to completely rude. Made every possible attempt to work through install dept manager (Jeff) as well as store GM (Dave?) and still no results to show for it. The place for good plants. Spathiphyllum! Alright, it's a Peace Lily. But it's enormous. And at $24, it's a nice low-light, low-maintenance floor plant for a corner of our bedroom. And the plant lady helped us find it. I guess there aren't many low-light gigantic plants out there. But we found a darned nice one. Jimmie Johnson, interviewed after his Martinsville victory today; "I want to encourage everybody to go to Lowe's tomorrow, if you didn't go today already... buy some stuff, its springtime... and uh... life is good!" Worst customer service ever. We bought an expensive bathroom cabinet a few months ago. When we were ready for install and unboxed it, we noticed a problem with one of the doors. Brought the door in to see if it could be exchanged, and have been waiting for almost 2 months for a final answer. Have called several times, can never get to actually speak with a manager and the employee who was to be working on this for us, never calls us back. I like this lowes location as most of the staff is very helpful (specially around the kitchen appliance section, I've bought a washer/dryer unit here. The place is mostly stocked and the garden center has a good variety. Service is always a step above of Home Depot although that also depends on the location. Only con- the bathroom supplies section's service is awful, and the two people I've dealt with there were very rude. I was simply trying to look through the catalogs to see if I can find a contemporary style bathroom sink. The lady there was super condescending and disrespectful in a lot of ways, critiquing my choice of sink and basically talking to me like I was stupid, pointing out that whatever I needed will have to be ordered... Well duhh... No kidding. The entire time she was huffing and puffing like a child, as if my questions about a vessel sink option on the cabinet possibility was absolutely wasting her time. I asked for someone else to help me and she loudly bad mouthed me to her coworker as she sent him my way.... Only an isle a way... I could hear everything! He (the other associate) at this point walked up to me as if I was the arch enemy. What the hell was wrong with these two I do not know, but surely lost my business. I ended up ordering a vessel sink cabinet at the Manchester location. I won't let some bitter old lady ruin my day... I have questions..please answer ..attitude not part of purchase..Then of course 4 days later same smiling in need of a vacation maybe? employee had to give us a new ignition switch for the grill we just purchased from his dept because the one on our brand new grill was defective...barrel of fun. Today on my lunch break I took my 1/2hr and searched their website for available perennials and printed out what I wanted for my flower garden. Armed with my paperwork I went to the greenhouse and said excuse me can you direct me to these 5 plants? "What are they?" as I named them..NOPE..NOPE..NOPE..NOPE.. yeah we have those over there ...but your website says you have all of these in stock, I specifically picked IN STOCK items... so we don't... And he turned and walked away. Now i had every intention of filling my flower bed with lots of flowers from this store. but i can spend my money somewhere where someone wants to take the time to help me. without the attitude, grumpiness. apparently customer service isn't important to this location so this customer will take her business elsewhere. read more

I went there Sunday 2/5 to look to purchase some windows. I arrived at the desk and noticed that there was two guys sitting and chatting about the Super Bowl. Worst Lowe's location I've been to. My mom is recovering from surgery so she sent me to Lowe's with a merchandise credit to buy some items for the house. They were out of the numbers needed for our mailbox.. so I only ended up trying to buy power wash cleaner. I go to check out and the associate asked for my license right away. I thought it was weird but happily gave it to her. She said it wasn't matching. I said matching what? Apparently when issued a merchandise credit they store your license number so every time you try to redeem the credit, you must present the same ID. Since my mom had surgery she didn't come with me... I asked the associate if she can give it over the phone or accept a picture. She said she want sure so she sent me to the customer service desk. I waited around there for an associate. I told her the issue and she was completely rude and shouted in my face saying no there is nothing they can do. What a pointless policy. I took my business to Home Depot. Wasted gas driving there for nothing. read more

i am here all the time -- it's the place to go if you want to see employees stand around and do nothing. the employees here are really good at getting into groups of 4 to talk, hiding on a lone register, walking around aimlessly lost, and using their smart phones. none of which do the consumer any good, but afterall, this is america 2016 and nothing beats stealing a paycheck every two weeks. you will often hear them call someone to a department on the intercom.. over.. and over.... and over. most of the employees i have dealt with here don't know where anything in the store is, or anything about the item you are looking for. you will often get the "uh, i dont know, i just work here" blank stare. there are TWO people in this store that i can describe off hand that have always been courteous and helpful to me. one is chuck, and older white gentleman with white hair and beard. the other is an older black lady with very short hair. (don't mean to call them old, just older than the average dipstick who works there) other than that, good luck at this lowes. my advice is to know what you're looking for ahead of time via the lowes website which shows what isle everything is on, and read reviews from other customers there too. they are in a battle for the worst of newington along with kitts lane stop and shop. read more
